I have been shopping in this attractive thrift store for years and have found various treasures and good values here on a random basis, just like in any other thrift store. The Volunteer sales people are always willing to help, answer questions and will negotiate prices when they can. The donated merchandise is often "high end" but the store has weekly specials in each department with color-coded price tags to suit most budgets! (Notice that most of the reviews here are very old, with one exception.) Happy thrifting! read more

I have enjoyed shopping at The PMS Thrift Store for many years. I was in the shop today, and had picked a nice little piece of Nambe to purchase; as I continued looking throughout the store, the two ladies behind the counter had a conversation between them about how something had to be done about gas prices or the Republicans would lose the midterms, because people were too stupid and had "Trump derangement syndrome." I finished looking at a few things, replaced the piece of Nambe on the shelf where I found it, and left the store. Because, apparently, I am too stupid to make a purchase in your store, having succumbed to "Trump derangement syndrome." I don't care a whit about their personal politics; I'm sure, based on their conversation, that they wouldn't like mine. But that's why I keep those thoughts to myself in public. They lost a long-standing customer today read more

Over priced and a bit grumpy. Had a bad experience everything ive stopped. Nice items though. Can't afford most of it.

PMS has nice things. The prices are very high, almost retail, and in some cases, higher! This store is worth a stop if you enjoy second hand stores, but don't expect to find thrift store prices. read more

I'm a local to Santa Fe, and while I've honestly never had good luck at the this thrift store, I stopped in today on a spur of the moment decision to look and see what earrings they might have. I'm going to a concert tomorrow and I was hoping to find some kitchy southwest earrings to wear. Now, something very important to know is that I'm in my twenties, my bangs are currently blue, and I have plenty of visible tattoos. I was also wearing a crop top today since it was hot. And as soon as walked into the store and started to browse (they recently moved locations and I wasn't sure where they kept their earrings anymore), the two older women behind the counter started loudly telling the customer there about how much they hate shoplifters. The customer was surprised after the women asserted that they had people steal from them often, to which the women replied "oh we never SEE them stealing we just KNOW they have". And honestly I didn't think anything of it as I browsed the earrings, but none of the other employees offered to take anything out of the case for me even though there were plenty of people working and I was very clearly looking at things in the case. The women behind the counter just going on about how often people stole from them and finally I had shopped the things I wanted to look for so I left. But as I got to my car, which was parked right in front, I turned to get in and saw that one of the employees had followed me out of the shop and stood there to wave in a very condescending way before going back inside. They legitimately thought that I had shoplifted something because I had bought anything, and I'm positive that my appearance added to their assumption that I was a "bad" person. I honestly should have gone back in and offered to go through my purse in front of all of them just to show then that they were being extremely rude. Not offering me service is one thing, but making the assumption that your customers are shoplifting just because "you can tell" is another. I'm absolutely never going back. read more

Not a typical thrift store. More like an consignment boutique. It is much more expensive. That said when they have clear out sales, everything with the right color tag is a bargain at $3. read more

The prices are just too high. I've donated there and then have seen the goods I've donated marked so much higher than I bought them for originally. It seems the manager doesn't understand she's in Santa Fe NM and not in some more expensive location. There is also a convoluted sale system that is very confusing and unnecessarily complicated. I liked so much better before when the sales made sense and things were more reasonably priced. I think I speak for many, many people in town. read more

This thrift store has outrageous prices. They had a wicker hamper for $40. A Mickey Mouse picture holder for $10. They should advertise as an antique store if they hey are going to have prices like that. read more

When I was a kid, my mom used to take me to thrift stores to find little treasures. We didn't have a lot of money and it was a way to spend an afternoon hunting for something cool that we could afford. I still own some of those things today! But something has happened to thrift stores and it's not good. I get it, dealers come in and snap things up at great prices and resell them. So thrift stores have weirdly decided to raise prices so much that dealers have to pass on them, but so do regular folks. So nothing sells. Your charity gets nothing. Today I popped into this store and my eyes must have popped out of my head a dozen times over the prices. I saw a painting I liked, it was $150. If I was buying from the artist it would be a good deal, but it's a freaking thrift store painting. Someone donated it. It's not like you paid $100 for it and have to make a profit. I won't be back. read more

As seen in other comments... the ladies who work there make you feel unwelcome and hover over your every move like hall monitors. Even though it isn't stated upon entry they demand you can't use your phone in the store. Myself and another patron got told off for not wearing masks (vax or not) and will interrupt your quiet conversation to tell you to go outside of you need to use the phone. All within the first few mins of being in the store. Yea... and the prices... $$$. No thank you. read more

High Priced. Used to be a neighborhood shop for locals, with really good sweaters, and the constant $1 rack. Now, it's competing with retail priced shops. Management seems to use it's Volunteers, only to underpay staff. The smaller shop had lower rent and well priced for humans. Now it's larger, and meant to be 'fashionable' with really the same stuff as both of the Cat Dragged In or our Habit for Humanity. The kitchen goods are always worn out, and better buys for china, cooking gear at Kichenality on Siler Road. Ever since this new management came in a few years ago, if we befriend the volunteers or we've known them for a lifetime, she comes out and polices our conversations. Community has never rung a bell for this manager, and doesn't understand 'exchange' is not only dollar value but sharing some local information. Needs to remember it's PMS - that's a hospice donation center from the medical and for the patients in our our our city. read more

Personally I wouldn't shop here twice. I agree that the prices are outrageous but more than that it's very hard to breathe in there. I asked about the air freshener and they said it was a Downy oil freshener. It's strong and toxic and my friend and I had to leave. It's funny that this is run by a health organization because surely they should know that these air fresheners are neurotoxins. They do have some fun merchandise so if they made the air non-toxic and lowered their prices it would be a great place to shop. And the windows are so inviting. Someone there is great at window dressing. read more

This was one of the nicest and cleanest "Thrift Stores" I have visited. The merchandise was well staged, well priced, and the staff was very nice and very helpful. They have some great values, and beautiful inventory. They even helped me after I locked my keys in my car! Thank you for your kindness and extra special care and consideration of your customers. read more

I was just in to the PMS Thrift store and got a really good deal on some bowls and sheets. They were very nice and I will go back again.

This thrift store has good merchandise, but everything is very overpriced. I saw a pair of boots I would have paid $75 for and that is generous, the store was asking $300 for the used boots. Very sweet ladies working there, but I would no return. read more

The prices here are laughable. More like the price of new retail or a high end antique store...in a thrift store setting! Save yourself some time and skip this one! read more

Insanely overpriced. Many items are selling for well over new price, including the Walmart special cardboard frame that normally sells for $1, now only $12 at the Hospice! read more

The PMS Thrift Store - $12 for a $1 frame - Thrift Stores Near Me - Santa Fe, New Mexico

Found this store by accident and glad I did. Why pay retail in Santa Fe when you could shop here? They had Navajo rugs, cowboy boots, ceramics, folk art, clothes and more. The staff are lovely and I snagged a great pair of high end cowboy boots for way less than retail. Prices are higher than a low end thrift store, but the merchandise is better. read more

five stars because while they have a good selection of clothes and accessories, what truly is fantastic is that they sell AMAZINGLY priced (like $1-3) upholstery fabric sample books... which is near impossible to find a place that sells old ones, let alone for that price. So if you're a fabric fan for your own upholstery or apparel needs, this spot is a must visit. read more

Very overpriced. If you really want to help - lower your prices, move the items - & make more money for people on Hospice.

Overpriced wow. Some items are higher end but prices are at almost new. Every time I go back prices have gone up. I'd rather support charity shops but finally crossing this place off my list. read more

They're pricing themselves out of the market. Prices on many things are higher than the same item, brand new at a retail store. Other things such as jigsaw puzzles and books are 2 to 3 times higher than other thrift stores in town charge, while artwork, scarves, bags, and kitchenware are laughably expensive ($110 for a non designer bag???). This used to be my favorite thrift store. I won't be returning. read more

Great little thrift shop! Lots of everything. High quality merchandise with very affordable prices. Yesterday they were having a sale on top of the already low prices. Some cute vintage items mixed in. Visiting from out of town, I went to easily 10 thrift/consignment/vintage stores in Santa Fe yesterday and this was my favorite. ALSO: just behind this shop (on Baca) is a fun little coffee house and a really fantastic little independent bookstore called Op.Cit. Books. read more

I'm addicted to thrift shopping. Almost all of my wardrobe and home decor is my great effort to save money and still look amazing. This thrift store has some great stuff but I've never bought anything because it's way too expensive. Sad. I understand it's Santa Fe but these prices are not worth it. read more

Here's why I won't be back. Bought a hugely expensive brooch there only to have it literally break the first time I wore it. No refunds, no store credit, and I had the receipt. What a bummer, and I won't be back. Waste of my money, and terrible store policy. read more

I would love to support Hospice, but with those prices I just couldn't do it. I mean their used things cost double then what you could buy them new for in a store. Good luck ladies and remember that moving the stuff out quicker in the long run will make you more money. read more

Super overpriced furniture and tube TV and vcr for 300!? You might as well call your store fine consignment!

I had a great experience here. They had a great selection of home decor items. The people that helped me were really kind. The prices were super cheap and a really great value on hand made items. Highly recommend for home decorations read more

After it was recommended to me, I've gone several times. I was amazed to get a brand-new pair of jeans that fit me perfectly for 75 cents! Their original price was $3 and they were having a 75% off on clothing sale. read more

Just left..very disappointed smelled of mothballs upon entering ..now I know why most of the clothes were old fashion..and prices were very high even at 50% off saw a devil egg dish white nothing special marked $20 which would make it $10 not a great price...At $ 5.00 I would have taken it home...don't waste your time there. read more

I was shocked to find out how expensive this store was. Their clothing was high priced and out of date. Not worth stopping by.

Nice little charity thrift store in a good location, just a few miles out Cerrilos rd. from the Plaza. I am a tourist who goes to Santa Fe abt twice a yr. and I always stop in here. Good quality clean clothes. For example I have gotten nice knit Eileen Fisher pants for $8 here; they would have sold for abt $150 originally.. Small collectibles area and small case of jewelry. Bric a brac and framed prints and baskets in a small area as you come in the door. small but good shoe area w/boots also. Mostly womens clothing. Friendly and low key staff volunteers. Door faces back of small center it is in- park in back. read more
