At about 1030 the restaurant closes and we were asked to move to the bar area which was odd.

Seriously, it is one of the best pubs in the area and actually a really nice and friendly place to feel like you're in the country even though the train outside the door will get you to Euston in 17 minutes. A real welcoming vibe with a strong selection of beers, wines, spirits and ciders. At the weekends, there's a nice array of live music on Saturday night and acoustic sessions every few Sundays. More than worth a visit and given I live a stone's throw away, let me know, can always sneak a pint in ;-).

Based on my description of liking Guinness but wanting something local, he recommended Farr Brew bitter and offered me a sample. He was generous and upon my liking it- he poured a proper 1/2 pint.

It's incredibly well laid out inside, they have these cool bubbles outside that you can eat in which are kind of like mini cabins, the only sad thing is I don't really have too much time to stay here as I'm just working down the road doing some stuff for a client so no unfortunately I can't really partake of the excellent menu. I wish I could write more but the next time I'm back in this neck of the woods I would definitely come here the staff are also friendly and it's warm inside.
