Right under my nose, minutes from my house in South Houston. This is what happens when you think…read moreyou're to good for the hood. CHUTZPA! It could be defined as a dive bar, but we have had and have many of those in South Houston. People have always driven into this small city for night scene, remember the clubs: Hallaballoos and Rockys? Now-a-days we have many other places where locals hang out. The eclectic indoor area is spacious, they have a stage, and pool tables. The outdoors in front has a small raspa eatery feel to it, but a bigger, relaxed, and more gentrified area in the back. Are you a homebody? If you're a gamer or "I don't like people" type, then no worries come pick up your drinks to-go via the drive thru. They have a heavy hand. The menu has everything that tickles MY alcoholic fancy. Mixed drinks, Jello shots, stiff drinks. I felt like I was in EADO, come on my peeps, you'll enjoy this out of the way, yet in the way bar (club in our small town). I can really chill at this spot frequently and I don't say that about any spot!

My first time going to the chill spot July 1st and I was very impressed on how cozy and worm…read morewelcome I felt walking in. Food was on point!! It was loaded baked potatoes and Veronica the bartender was absolutely surpurb!! It was busy but she was on it from the front of the bar to drive through. I have found a great hangout and will spread the word!

This place was recommended to me, and I was a little unsure at first. I honestly thought I was…read moregoing to a hole-in-the-wall taqueria, but this is a full blown Mexican restaurant, and a solid one at that I don't claim to be the expert on authentic Mexican food, but this is some of the best I've had to date. I wasn't overly hungry, but I certainly ate my body weight in complementary chips and salsa. You are given a basket, red and green salsas, and refills for both. The green was especially delicious The exterior looks to have had a facelift over the years, and the interior is well decorated. There's also plenty of parking. We didn't have to wait at all for a table, and it was fairly busy As I mentioned, there are the majority of classic mexican delicacies on the menu, and some TexMex adjacent dishes, but again, I'm not the expert. I was in the mood for tacos, and that's what I went with. There are several proteins to choose from, and you can order tacos à la carte. I wasn't sure how big the tacos were (if they'd be street tacos sized), and I chose flour tortilla instead of corn tortillas, and the tacos were much bigger than I expected. My friend was in the mood for breakfast, and they offered that menu even though it was in the afternoon There is a full bar, but we didn't have any alcoholic drinks. They have jarrijitos and other drink options Everything tasted great, and I was surprised just how affordable my meal was. I think I walked away paying close to $8 for my 2 tacos Some tips: This is NOT TexMex. If you're a fan of Mexican delicacies this is a great spot for you. It also helps if you have someone who speaks Spanish. You can get by in English, but the majority of servers speak Spanish, and it definitely adds to the authentic ambiance Cheers!!

The food is amazing and full of flavor and definitely does not disappoint. However, they really…read moreneed to stop being so stingy with the tortillas. I used to get four with my appetizer queso flameado and now you get a maximum of three with an extra charge for more. The waitress mentioned that the owner reduced the quantity because too many tortillas were being thrown away. Honestly, at those prices, that should not be an issue. Other than that the food is great!
