I lived here 3 years before COVID and the new manager Jason moved onto the property. He harassed me non-stop. He filmed me through my windows, and when I was finally evicted during the moratorium -- he sent a letter to my new address with a $15,000 judgement for 4 months of $1,500 rent. The police were called, the constable personally sent an injunction against harassment on behalf, and Jason still continued his behavior. I sent emails in no uncertain terms, that he was to cease communicating with me because I considered his behavior harassment. It just seemed to inflame his egregious behavior. I sent a letter to other tenants describing my ordeal and he had a lawyer send me a letter threatening me with jail time (which he can't do). The kicker is, I lived at another complex managed by Jason Beckum, and he towed my child's father's vehicle from our assigned parking spot and constantly called my phone. While living here, at the Place on 51st, he sent me an email saying I could NOT have guests who did not first check in with him in the office. I also filmed him returning to the business office HOURS after closing, where he met up with a female tenant for over an hour. The video is taken at night, and she walks out first, turns out the lights, shuts the door behinds her, "locks it", and walks off. Then, Jason walks out not even two minutes later - from the darkness of his office. It was the most disgusting display of managerial misuse. His lawyers off responded by taking me to court 10 times in 8 weeks, evicting me during the height of the COVID moratorium, and sent me a $15,000 bill for 4 months of $1,500 rent. read more

I read the reviews before I went to see the property and from what I can tell it is a lot of lies. The property is amazing and I asked Jason about the reviews and his explanation made sense. I have been here now almost a year now and the manager does not bother us but my family also follows rules. It is funny how many people criticize on reviews when they were in the wrong. If you want a quite and great place to live you should really come see the property for yourself. Don't just take my word for it but I live in a 2 bedroom which has a double master and a 2 car garage which was hard to find when i was looking. read more

I lived at the place from 2017 until April 2023. It was nice & quiet and the only reason I moved was because I bought a house. Jason the manager was kind and attentive to our needs. Never felt discriminated until I went to this place, I was pretty to view this place and was set on signing up for a lease right after, there are still signs that say rentals available and even with the apartments.com app updates 2 hours ago showing 2 rooms available, I'm half white half mexican and my girlfriend is Filipino. The very second I stepped in that small office, I wasn't greeted with a hello and a smile, what I saw was fear and disgust on her face . At first I thought I might of startled her so I proceeded to ask this woman that I was looking to view the 2 bedroom 2.5 bath that's available, without even looking at her computer "nothing is available until November" it honestly threw me off guard and that's when the feeling of not being welcomed to this place at all started to set in read more

When we originally moved in and Janet being manager, we never had any issues or concerns, new manager is very rude, arrogant, and very confrontational, told me to pay certain amount, and then Ach went threw same day, told me I would have credit for next month, I'm not sure about you, but with Covid I do not have an extra 1665.00 just laying around, so I made a dispute with the bank, a week later money was returned, and now, have late fees, and NSF charges, I have called and e mailed corporate office and they do not call back or return e mails. This place has gone to hell. They do not fix maintenance requests properly, broken toilet seat, replaced with round seat cover, on an oval toilet, ants, reported 3 months in a row. I have been living at the Place on 51st since April of last year. I was extremely sick the last two months with pneumonia, and was late on my rent for two months in a row. I worked with the office, and came up with every last penny. It was one of the worst things I have dealt with as I work 3 jobs, however I pulled it off! So cut to this month. I have suffered from a bit of depression with BIG regard to this financial situation and explained to the horrible property manager Sandy what transpired. Also, my last three money orders somehow went missing, which I have a police report for as well. But Sandy decided to continue to talk over me and yell at me telling me that there is nothing she can do to help. Up until I got sick I have NEVER been late on my rent. TWO AND A HALF MONTHS I was dealing with my pneumonia as I was diagnosed wrong three times and it spread to my lungs. Not only did Sandy not have any empathy whatsoever, she began raising her voice at me. I couldn't yell even if I wanted to, as I was at a hospital. I wasn't rude to the woman until the end of our phone call (I had 2 witnesses as I had her on speaker phone). Instead of answering my questions, she kept barking at me to "Get my dog out tomorrow." She also kept telling me there was nothing she could do to help me, to which I had the rebuttal, yes there is, you CAN help me, but you are choosing not to. I am not some piece of crap, lazy person who doesn't pay my bills. It was circumstantial. When I showed up to court last month, I was 2 minutes late due to be stuck behind an accident, but it didn't matter as I paid the rent. I offered to pay my rent in full tomorrow, but good 'ol yelling Sandy told me she "couldn't" take anything. I spoke to a lawyer who stated that paying it in full should be acceptable, and that this property manager is intentionally making it difficult for me. I don't want special treatment at all. I truly don't. I don't want to be in this mess, and it was an unfortunate circumstance. I didn't ask to be sick, and I sure as heck didn't ask for this stress of apparently having my money orders stolen. After explaining this to Sandy, she proceeded to tell me that a "Sarah" in the corporate office would make the final decision, and may be able to help. So I asked that she talk to Sarah. She got off the phone with me, spoke to Sarah for no longer than 1 minute, as I got a call back immediately. I asked if Sarah said it was okay to help, and she told me that she didn't ask for Sarah to help. She asked Sarah if she was making the right decision by telling me that she couldn't help at all. She told me a total of 4 times that she could possibly help me, and then turned around each time after I asked how, and told me in her lovely, rude, loud, voice to "Get my dog out tomorrow". I then asked her for the corporate number, to which she rudely replied, "It's the same number you called all last month, you have it." WTF?! I said, "I am on a a different phone currently, as my mom let me use her phone to call, and don't have it on me. How the hell do you know whether or not I have the corporate number." To which she replied, "Well I don't even know it. I don't call it everyday, so I don't know it by heart." That's when I was done. I hung up on her. I cannot believe how damn un-empathetic and flat out RUDE this woman was. I am not a disrespectful woman, especially to my elders, so I can say with full honesty, that I didn't speak an ill word to her, until the end of the call as I called her a "B". I don't even know if she heard me. Sadly, for your complex, there were a plethora of other people listening in on the call as they were walking in and out, and are spreading the word of how disgustingly awful I was spoken to. While I understand that there may not be anything you guys are WILLING to do to help me (I will not say can't, as you can help, you are capable of it), I am writing as the public needs to see how disgusting Sandy is to her tenants. I haven't ever dealt with somebody like her in my entire life, and hopefully will never have to again. I will be calling the office tomorrow in hopes to talk to her boss. I know a HUGE radio DJ, as well as a few people who work with KPHO and KTAR and will be taking the way that I have been treated public. Thank you for allowing your representative to make a horrible situation worse. Oh and humiliating myself, so that I can bring attention to this awful person has felt even more amazing throughout the worst time in my life. Bravo! read more
