a half eaten pizza and a glass of beer

Great little pizza place in Happy Camp, CA. The people were very nice and the pizza was amazing. I'm glad we made the trip to visit. Had a few beers and the individual pizzas that could be shared. Great deal.

Overall: Take-Out Review: Good pizza considering the fact that there's not much else around. The good: Good sizes and tastes decent. Nothing extraordinary, but it's pizza and it's the only option in the large area. The people serving our takeout were nice. Takes a second to make but it's good. The bad: Pretty expensive when it comes to pizza, since they have a 'monopoly' on the area. Just 'average' pizza. Nothing great, nothing bad. Obviously no delivery. Atmosphere: N/A Service: 8/10 Food: 8/10

It was inviting, the glass brings in natural light, and makes it feel bigger. There seemed to be plenty of seating whether it was inside. On the loft, or on the patio. I was there at lunch so I am sure it has more guests in the evening. The food was great. The Pastrami Sandwich was warm and the bread was soft. With the meat, you received sautéed onions, and dill pickle slices right down the middle. Each bite was consistently good. The Parmesan fries were very nice. Light and Crispy, just the way I like them! I took home a growler (porter) and am looking forward to enjoying it around my fire pit. I also purchased a hoodie for my wife who was not able to attend. Both were priced fair for the quality.

I got what he was saying. Now, searching the Yelp, the options for fresh, flavorful food seemed to be a single, solitary place - SeaQuake Brewing. Once again, Yelp didn't let me down. We arrived probably at 530PM and there was a long wait ahead already. We didn't care. I will happily wait for a good meal. There is a decent sized waiting area, and it stayed full. The merchandise for sale is very cute, and the hostesses are helpful in selling it to you. Once we were seated, it was upstairs. It was a nice space. We ordered the garlic bread, the shrimp Caesar salad and fish tacos. The garlic bread was fine, the tacos were good, my husband said. The salad was good, but when it arrived, my shrimp were STONE cold. It took a long time for us to get someones attention, but eventually, some fresh, hot shrimp came to the table. They did well in fixing that issue. The food was fresh, flavorful and I'd say earns it's spot at the top of the restaurants in Crescent City.

However with less than 20 minutes to close, I assumed it was a slim to none chance they would take our order. I took a chance and called. No problem! I quickly ordered and headed that way. Centrally located it was 2 min from our hotel. The place was empty and they had already cleaned up prepared to close. I asked if we could have a drink while we waited. Again to my surprise even though they had closed the bar, it was no problem. The place smelled AMAZING! Smoked BBQ mixed with fresh baked pizza.... What a great business idea! All the staff we encountered were so friendly. Probably some of the best service I have ever experienced. Inside is really cute, loved the artwork. But the food, it was amazing. This could easily be the go to place for anyone who loves close. You can tell the sauce is fresh from the BBQ to the pizza. Honestly some of the best pizza I've ever had. 1000/10

We love their delicious pies, but today we couldn't decide on which one, so we got two! Their dough has the perfect hydration to create beautiful air pockets, with just the right chew when eating. All of their pizzas are fired in their huge brick oven, heated by local madrone and alder woods, that impart a slight smoky note and a bit of charred leoparding on the crust. Pizza 1.) Agness Tomato Pie ($22.00) Made with ripe local tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh garden basil, fresh garlic, Pecorino Romano, Parmesan, and EVOO. Pizza 2.) Milk & Honey ($21.00) Made with fresh Mozzarella, creamy Ricotta, Pecorino Romano, Parmesan, EVOO, honey, cracked black pepper, and I added cupping pepperoni. Both pies ate perfectly, and we had very little left over, as we were hungrier than we knew. Sitting outside on a warm, sunny day, watching the fishing boats cruise around the bay, was delightful. Each pie had their own uniqueness and complemented each other well. Their signature "Milk & Honey" version was uniquely satisfying. There was something about how the creamy Ricotta cheese melded with the sweet honey drizzle, fortified by the crisp, savory pepperoni that was out of this world. Table service was fast and friendly too. We will be back again. Thanks to the crew! Truth...

We ordered a pizza with prosciutto that had a flavour which brought- brought back memories of something that I'd had in, the Middle East once, you know, unusual but not quite... clicking for me. My wife, who actually knows her pizza, thought it was fantastic, loved the crust and everything. But the vibe - busy, slightly off service, kind of like we'd wandered into the wrong church. It felt weird. The one thing that did stand out though, was the space. It's right against the river, all glass fronted with plenty of seating inside and out. There's a bar, sunny patio where people bring their dogs, and on a bright day it just feels glorious. I believe in second chances, so went back today and I'm glad I did. The meatballs were seriously satisfying, swimming in a beautiful, bold marinara with fresh mozzarella and fresh baked, soft bread, fragrant and piping hot. Honestly so good. The dish normally comes with ricotta, which I don't like, but our server swapped it for mozzarella without any fuss. Lovely. Friendly, quick, really engaged. The contrast between those visits was night and day. What started as an awkward pizza experience turned into something genuinely enjoyable with lovely service and that gorgeous riverside setting. I'd skip the pizza, but go back for the meatballs and the patio, and I'd recommend it to others.

Our half MARGHERITA and half RICOTTA RONI 16" pizza was amazing! The abundance of fresh basil made it top notch! So this place is always packed opens at 3 PM because you know people don't want pizza at lunch,…read morewhat kind of psychopath would want pizza at lunchtime you know. The normal wait time for a pizza here is one to two hours, sometimes even three hours to get a pizza to go. This last visit it was a two hour wait so what I did was pay damn near double and just buy eight slices of the pizzas that were made to be reheated. Instead of paying about 30 bucks for a pizza I ended up paying over $50. That's not even what the complaint is about the cashier was about to give us eight plates for eight slices of pizza when I wanted to take my pizza home. While we were waiting my friend and I got two beers and we were finishing our beers. While we're drinking, our beers here comes the pizza and two small pizza boxes. When the person giving us our pizza boxes saw us drinking our beers he asked do you want me to keep these pizza boxes in the warmer to which my friend and I both replied no thank you we're going to eat some. To which the worker responded extremely rudely and unprovoked wow if you're going to eat it here why would you waste the boxes? Maybe because my friend and I don't wanna eat a whole pizza. We don't wanna wait two hours for you guys to bake a pizza that takes 10 minutes to bake. Maybe if you guys weren't so slow. We could've ordered a normal pizza and got a normal pizza box. Or maybe we should've just got eight plates for eight slices of pizza and juggle them the out of the store to please you guys?... the dude was an absolutely rude, you act as if we're stealing from your children's mouth because we got two to go boxes for eight slices of pizza? I wish I could use the choice words I want to use to describe that worker but yelp will just take the review down. I immediately lost my appetite after the person was so blatantly rude in front of all the other customers. Seriously what is wrong with your employee there what is his issue? The place is constantly packed like a sardine can you cant move around or even sit. The only reason I tolerate the horribly crowded chaotic atmosphere is because their pies are decent, but theyre not decent enough to be belittled and talked down to like a theif for getting two to go boxes from the cashier, the guy was literally pissed off that we were taking up seats in the store and had the audacity to have to go boxes. If you're that upset or worried about people occupying your store, maybe buy yourselves a bigger location or rent a larger location instead of making your customers feel so unwelcome. Or better yet dont hire A holes to work for you and make your customers feel welcome. I loved headies pizza but I wont come back and ill tell everyone about how rude your employee was and it being the reason I refuse to be a patron any longer. DO BETTER. EDUCATE YOUR EMPLOYEES ON HOW TO PROPERLY TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS. To dump on someone over 2 to go boxes, get yourself a horrible review is pathetic... i guess 8 paper plates woulda been the more eco friendly choice.... Or is it the money your business is so concerned about losing? Maybe if you're struggling so hard to provide to go boxes to your customers, you should charge people for to go boxes. That way you don't have to verbally abuse me in front of other customers when I come to eat some food. Its not my problem anymore as again I wont be coming back. 60 dollars and a 15 percent tip to be defecated on by your worker over some to go boxes. What a fabulous dining experience....

Best thin crust tavern style pizza we've had in a long time, in a very unexpected location…read more My wife, her mom, and I had just crossed the Oregon-California border into Oregon and used the nearby Dollar Tree in Brookings to be our end point on our fourth day Internet access had been spotty throughout our trip through Big Sur and then Redwood parks, so used a combination of Google maps and Yelp to find nearby businesses, just for fun. Fat Cat showed up with high ratings. None of us were particularly hungry, but their ratings for thin-crust pizza piqued my interest, so we adjusted our plans and walked in. There was one employee (Ian) working on this mid afternoon time on hump day, so had to get his attention while he was working in the back. You place and pay for your order first, so ordered a medium thin crust pineapple/ham ($15). Not knowing what to expect, I asked if the pizza crust could be made well done. We sat down at the fast food booths, and didn't have to wait long. When the pizza came, all of us knew immediately by the sight and smell that it was going to be great. The crust was the perfect thinness, and the toppings were generous. Our plan was to sample some of it and then take the rest back, but the three of us ended eating every single piece. It was that good. We learned a bit more about the business from Ian. It used to be a franchise pizza joint, but the owner decided to stop being a franchisee, and create a local name. 'Gato Gordo' was thrown out as an early name, with the final name being chosen as the winner from an early Christmas party secret Santa gift. The pizza crust is consistently made by a dough sheeter at a low thinness setting. This might be sacrilegious, but I think I prefer this way vs the hand tossed NY style that is way more prevalent (and way more expensive).

Stopped in at Fat Cat Pizza off Hwy 101 in Brookings and it was a standout. Staff were friendly and quick, food came out hot, and the cat decorations make the place feel local instead of generic. Easy stop if you're driving the coast. Would recommend and would come back.
