We adore the town of Ontonagon and Syl's is always a stop for us when we're here. This charming diner has traditional pasties, breakfast food, and other great lunch options. We haven't been for dinner, but I'm sure it's just as wonderful. The to go to orders for my family are always a pastie with gravy, the wild rice cranberry turkey melt, and I always get the spicy chicken sandwich with onion rings. Portions are enormous here, the picture of my chicken sandwich has the bun smashed down so it was easier to fit in my mouth without dislocating my jaw lol. This is also my favorite chicken sandwich I've ever had, ANYWHERE. Service is great even though they're understaffed, so please be patient. The staff are incredibly nice and attentive and treat their locals well. Got a taste for a sweet treat? Great news because Syl's has a pastry case and even has cake and pie, all freshly made. If they have carrot cake, it's a must have. Overall, my family and I love Syl's diner. It's not only nostalgic for me, it's something to look forward to when making our way up to the UP. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.
