I have been coming to this place ever since I saw them on Guy's show! It never dissapoints me. Their Brisket sandwich is tender and juicy with just the right amount of gravy and oniins! The Skirt steak sandwich is the bomb! At $10 50 it is so worth it. Succulent the medium skirt steak with provolone is to die for. The other top sandwich is the Cuban, with fresh slow cooked pork, ham and swiss. Will never compare to one from Miami but it's a close 2nd! Their soups are always fresh. Have salads, panninis, wraps, burgers and hot dogs. Their is something for everyone. It is a small busy place, make sure to visit if you are on Long Island read more

Great menu. Great service. Very diverse food choices. Here for lunch. Coming back for dinner.

I tried this at the recommendation from someone at work. I tried the cheese burger and fries on my first visit. Was good but nothing fantastic, I dont eat burgers often so when I do I am picky. Tonight the hub brought me home the grilled shrimp, scallop citrus salad...yum. it was insanely fresh. The shrimp and scallops were deliciously flavorful and perfectly grilled. The salad was Incredibly fresh ( not overly packed with lettuce just a perfect mix of mixed greens, tomatoes, sour mango pineapple in a real home made citrus dressing), not the least bit oily and super refreshing. They made this salad the right way. Going to try their Cuban next and this salad many many times again! Worth nothing their menu has a great variety of food, not just any burger joint so I can't wait to try more. read more

This was our first visit and we enjoyed everything we ordered. My son had the shrimp burger and it was delicious. We are looking forward to returning and trying other items. We may try going for lunch next time and take advantage of the lunch wrap special that includes a choice of wrap, fries or soup and a beverage for $10. Sounds like a good deal for some good grub. read more

I love this place. The food is so good and the staff are always so nice. Last time I ordered a knish burger, which was amazing. And my friend had the chicken tenders which I couldn't help but steal a piece of. It's def a place I visit often esp since my friend works over in Freeport. read more

So I ordered food on grub hub, on new years day at around 6pm from Pit stop. Got a call back from grub hub, informing the order was "Turned down by Pit stop because Pit Stop said they were to busy". So thanks I guess? It wasn't a issue on how long it would have took to make the food, and would have happily waited for the food to be ready. Would my order have been "Turned down" if I called it in? Who Knows. It just seemed very unprofessional to "Turn Down" an order because you're too busy. If you can't handle online ordering, then don't be online. So I went to the Apollo Dinner instead. Their food was great. I was happy they didn't turn me down read more

My green Chile burger with fries was a 10! The old fashion shake was made with real ice cream yummy. The staff was friendly and attentive. The pit stop will definitely be our pit stop on our way home from lake from now on. read more

Teriyaki Salmon salad was delicious! Fresh fish cooked perfectly, fresh leafy greens and the dressing was spot on. A must try and definitely my go to when I don't feel like cooking but don't want greasy fast food! read more

Been going here for years! Tony runs a tight ship and I have NEVER got anything on the menu I did not like. From the crispy chicken wrap to the swordfish sandwich, you always have to make a pit stop during the week at the pit stop. Place is always clean and everyone behind the counter is very nice always. Any wrap is great and any sandwich! ask for sweet potato fries! read more

It's okay !! Nothing special. Have eaten here over the years, hadn't been here in a while and decided on the all the way burger. Sloppy burger... 2 premed patties, bacon lettuce sauce . In the end it was a little over 7 dollars. Okay if you want that. But, I would pay a little more to get a quality piece of meat. I must admit, I am intrigued by the spaghetti squash primavera and will stop in again to try read more

I have ZERO complaints about this place...my only complaint is I think people are too picky. I mean, maybe not my #1 absolute FAVORITE place..as a vegetarian, I have limited choices, but they have really good food here and the service was super nice! So what if they're proud of the fact that they were on a food network tv show? I would be too. Great veggie burger, the buns are great! Sweet potato fries are awesome...good mozzarella sticks too... Next time I'm trying that Spaghetti Squash Primavera...that looks awesome! The owner is super nice too...I'll definitely be returning. :] read more

The Pit Stop, what can I say. Like many Long Islanders, specifically those that frequent the southern portion of Nassau county, you've passed this place a hundred times. A couple of friends and I decided to grab some lunch and we figured to finally give it a shot. Upon entering you notice a vast menu with a huge variety of foods. From burgers to seafood and everything in between. Along with Guy Fieri on a repeat episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I picked the Cuban sandwich for lunch. I have to say for a place being on Triple D I would have expected a more wow factor. The food was mediocre, at best. My buddies seem to have had the same feeling... read more

The Pit Stop - A nicely pressed Cuban panini, side of "cheese" fries and a root beer to wash it all down. - Burgers Near Me - Merrick, New York

My husband and I tried this place since we seen it on diners, drive-Ins, and dives on the food network we were not impressed at all the pulled pork lacked any flavor, also seemed very oily. The chicken wings were okay, but again nothing to rave about. read more

We entrusted The Pit Stop with our most celebrated day; the day to give thanks among loved ones. The Pit will not disappoint you if you place yourself in their able hands. The food, all of it, was stupendous. Moist turkey, al dente vegetables, no lump gravy, and Just like Grandma's stuffing. We have a lot of food critics in this family and not a one was disappointed. So fresh and delicious. Yeah, another successful celebration. Thank you Pit Stop!!!! read more

Watched it on triple d i live 15 min away went right over ordered RUN like your AS!@@% are on fire. NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO WHAT'S ON TV

This place is a miraculous, magical, perfection !!! Every single time we've ordered from them for a home delivery, we've been blown away by their attention to detail, presentation, flavors, variety, and healthy ingredients. We eat Paleo style as much and as often as we can and it's impossible to find such a perfect menu for Paleo-style eating. -- except here at The Pit Stop. We love the power bowls, the chicken wings, the beet and apple salad, the spaghetti squash primavera, the eggplant meatballs, the butternut squash soup, the chicken gumbo soup, the bbq baby back ribs, shrimp and scallop citrus salad, and their fabulous creamed spinach. And oh, those sweet potatoes fries !! Tonight we ordered two things that we haven't tried before. The delivery is on it's way; I expect them both to be delicious: Teriyaki glazed salmon salad and Marinated skirt steak. What a great menu, filled with fresh, clean, food. read more

I saw this, like everyone else, on "Triple D." my boyfriend immediately said, "let's go try it!" I knew where it was, since I have passed by it for years, but had never actually stopped there. So we went. Personally, I don't really see why this place merited a spot on that show. My boyfriend had the cuban, which he said was bland and didn't even taste like a cuban. I had the chicken sandwich, which also really lacked flavor. The fries were the best part of the meal, which isn't saying very much since they too were quite under seasoned and just blah. All in all, none of the food was that great, and it was overpriced for what was basically fast food. Additionally, the service was VERY slow, and there were barely any available tables to sit at to eat. Neither me or my boyfriend was very impressed, definitely not impressed enough to return. All I can guess is that the person that owns this place must be related to someone affiliated with either Guy Fieri or the Triple D show. Other than that, I have no idea how this place could have made it on the show. Then again, Guy Fieri is NOT a trained chef, so what does he really know anyway? read more

Absolutely love this place, I order from them all the time. The shrimp and scallop citrus salad is heavenly! Their wraps are amazing as well. read more

In short, this place blows. It gives all of the appearances of an old school burger joint, but it falls way flat. I tried a cheeseburger and it reminded of high school cafeteria food. I even doubled down on my mistake and catered in some chicken and several other items for a party. The food was all bad, not one good choice in the batch. It doesn't even qualify as average. I heard the Pit Stop was on some TV show recently. I guess someone wanted to do a special on high school burger joints. read more

The Cuban Sandwich was a good pulled pork sandwich but not a "Cuban" And I lived in S. Florida for 20 yrs. The Philly Cheese Steak was nothing mor than steakums. Over Rated Over Priced, I rather go next door to Gyro Palace read more

We came here after finding this place on a Food Network app based off a recommendation from Guy Fieri. I ordered the Cuban panini and my friend had the roast beef, both combos. The fries were bland and were the end bits. The cheese for the cheese fries tasted like NOTHING. The Cuban was mediocre. Roast beef sandwich was bland. We also tried their cheesecake, which the friendly owner highly recommended ("worlds best!"). It was gelatinous and guess what? BLAND! All this for $34???? NO WAY. NO THANKS. read more

Just had a delicious salad "Salmon Power bowl" for lunch. Finally found somewhere to get a healthy salad at a decent price.

Went to the Pit Stop on Saturday saying that I was disappointed is being nice. Got the Philly Cheese Steak wanna be. The best part of the sandwich was the square sandwich roll. I've had better Cheese Steaks at street fairs. These guys should be smacked for putting the word Philly on the menu. I also had the fires which can be only described as dark brown sticks of mush with the slightly nutty taste of old oil. Guy must have hit some New York Diesel before going to this place. read more

A nice menu variety with wraps, sandwiches and plates was offered. Too bad the butternut squash spaghetti was not in season (as seen on TV). The buffalo chicken wrap was tasty. We should have ordered the lunch special and could have saved on ordering fries with the "hot" Cuban sandwich. The latter was served warm, because the buffoon who took our order directed it some other customers waiting outside. So we had to wait for our correct order to arrive. 20 minutes is a bit long for everything. No apology for their screw up as we watched patrons who ordered after us get their food. Food was priced right, since this is not a fast food joint, so don't expect those prices. We'll give them another try in a month despite the putrid service. read more

let me start by saying, I know food. very well. I live only a couple miles away and for the first time My wife and I decided to see what this place was about... WELL! I could have not been more insulted by what they served me. I ordered a full rack of pork baby back ribs dinner and I was given Kansas City style beef, like the kind you get in a really bad Chinese take-out. First, they gave me the ribs pre-cut that looks like they have been sitting around since the dark ages WHO PRE CUTS A RACK OF BABY BACKS??? WTF! second, Dry, like eating leather, I sent it right back and told the owner not to insult my intelligence with this, they are not pork baby backs. and they charged me $27.00 with tax for this garbage. The completely acted ignorant about what i was telling them. Completely incompetent, lacking basic knowledge about what they are selling. Or the thought when we came in that I was just born last night. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, or you hard earned money. give this place a WIDE berth! I insisted on a full refund for which they complied. Guy Fieri what the hell were you thinking! read more

Hi, again, Long Island. Seeing as New York is a rather frequent destination for us I thought I should give my impressions of some of the places we get our grub from. This place is very close to the motel we always stay at so it just made sense to try their burgers. We were not disappointed...they have an extensive menu that isn't just burgers...ribs, steak, wraps and hoagies are just a few of the offerings. I'm a "hole in the wall place" fan and The Pit Stop fits the bill. Quick delivery and friendly people are the toppers! Keep up the great work and we'll see you again soon! read more

Oh Guy Guy Guy...why do you steer us wrong? I usually travel to get to the DDD places so finally, spending the day in Bellmore, we decided to go one town over to The Pit Stop. Yes, because it was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. My mom had told me long ago that she had done the same and didn't care for it. But, I am one of those people that needs to burn myself on the flame before I listen. Atmosphere: Eh. Nothing to write home about. Service: They were nice enough. There was a guy there that I thought might be the owner and he was very nice. Prices: Oy. Quite high for what you get. In all fairness, though, most of the "nicer" fast food places have been getting pretty pricey. Food: I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. It was about $8 with tax (a little less) and came with no sides. The good: It was not greasy and the roll was good. The mediocre: It really had no taste. I added salt and pepper and it still had no taste. The person I was with ordered the spaghetti squash primavera. She liked it. The other person ordered a philly cheesesteak. He complained the whole time and took exception to the price for what you got and said it was "eh." Oh! I made sure I tasted a french fry that my friend ordered and I thought that was good. All in all while not BAD, it was a disappointment. And not because I had such high expectations. It was simply mediocre and no big deal. I won't be going back and neither will the two people I was dined with. read more

$26 for lunch for two. That's with no fries or anything. Just two sandwiches and a drink. Worst Cuban sandwich ever, and the roast beef panini was awful. Also, the place was filthy. Just gives credence to my theory that Guy Fieri knows nothing about good food. read more

I was a long time customer of Pit Stop, and have noticed over the past 3 years, this place has gotten progressively worse, and this past week's experience was the final straw. We ordered food to be delivered, and gave them our credit card over the phone. A card which, mind you they've had on file for sometime. They told us the charge went through, great. Delivery boy got to our apartment building and was too stupid to read the instructions on the panel so we could buzz him in. Instead he called from his cell phone complaining "there's no way into the building, and hes' stuck in the parking lot". We had to walk him through how to dial our apt number with instructions posted that he was too lazy to read so he could come upstairs. He finally shows up to our door with a CREDIT CARD MACHINE in his hand to get an imprint of the card. When my husband questioned why he said it's policy. Well nobody told us that on the phone prior when we placed our order. When my husband DID call, the person gave him attitude stating "We've had credit card frauds before, etc" Ok, I get that, but we're REGULAR customers. They then said to my husband "well we just won't use that card anymore". Well, Pit Stop, how about we wont' be using YOU anymore so you don't have to worry about that card. We've been giving this place business for about 5-6 years now regularly, ordering from them for parties (including $130 I just spetn recently for buffalo wings for our 4th of July party), as well as sandwiches, etc. Last time we ordered from them, the delivery guy was too lazy to show our building security guard his license and called us and wanted us to meet him in the parking lot, prior to that, they asked for the security code on my sister's card when we ordered while she was visiting. I've also noticed their food quality has gotten progressively worse with soggy french fries every time, orders wrong, etc. Its' like since they were on DDD with Guy Fieri, they just decided to stop making an effort cause they got on T.V. Screw you guys, we'll stick with the amazing Greek Palace next door where the food is amazing, and the staff is always friendly/courteous. read more

I usually order take out from here. I haven't dined in. I order the chicken panini sandwich which is usually good, the calamari is good- just need more seasoning. I've had messed up orders in the past which was somewhat inconvenient however the staff corrected it. read more

Horrible. I'd rather go to McDonalds, at least I know what I'm getting into with that. You lied to me Guy Fieri. Just because some people decided to start throwing teriyaki sauce on stuff, or throwing cheesesteaks on giant ciabatta bread. . . . .does NOT make the food interesting. $22 for two boring a$$ sandwiches. blehh. read more

Need a quick bite to eat? The pit stop has been around for years dishing out a mix of burgers, sandwiches & entrees. They also got some notoriety because of Guy Fieri's visit. I felt the food was mediocre, with exception of the French fries which were quite good. The seating is limited, so it's probably not the best place to bring the football team. Desserts, when they have them, are also above average. I hate the new television menus they installed. I have to read the paper one. read more

Been here twice and both times disappointed. Tried it the second time because they had a lobster special. Its a place that hasnt found its theme or the theme is cheesy and cheap. Food is not seasoned, fries dry beyond recognition. Not sure how they got the Food Network channel there. They must have paid for the PR. Yuck- don't waste your time, money or effort. Instead of the Guy Fieri show they should be on the Restaurant Impossible show with Robert Irvine. read more

The Pit Stop is great for a quick and easy bite but that doesn't mean the food is mediocre. We get a craving for the delicious, take-out style burgers a little more often than we would like to admit but boy do they hit the spot. They have a pretty extensive menu with even some nice healthy options. But me, I personally stay true to the cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and onion with a side of fries (the fries are delicious too!) I have also had the buffalo chicken tenders and those are quite good as well. I have always had a good experience at the counter and it is usually in-and-out if we order in advance. read more

NOT IMPRESSED After all the recent hype,I decided to give it a try after drivng by several times a week. A lunch "combo" with a Cuban sandwich was almost $15,which is crazy for lunch, but worse than that it was probably the worst Cuban sandwich I ever ate. The only thing you could taste were the red peppers, which dont belong in a Cuban in the first place. The meat had absolutely no taste to it and if there was cheese,I couldnt taste it. read more

We have always driven by and never knew what this place was all about until you know who dropped in. Guy Fieri's famouse spikey likeness is now forever embossed on the wall right above the counter. We usually go here right after hopping off the LIRR after work when we really don't feel like cooking that night and we have not yet been disappointed. My wife goes for the healthier fare...she loves the salads especially the shrimp, scallop and avocado. I tend to try anything and everything so this time around I had the fried fisherman's platter. When I first opened it the portion size didn't look enough but honestly it was plenty. It had fish, a VERY plump and crab meat filled crab cake & shrimp. I was suprisingly filled after eating it. I've even had their burgers and THOSE were really filling. One thing people have to remember is that with the wide variety of choices not everything is priced like the other fast food chains who offer so few choices. The Pit Stop offers you choices and variety and for what they offer I say they do an amazing job. For anyone wanting pretty good and pretty fast food and service and you're around the South Shore near Merrick I highly recommend you drop by. Try the burgers or salads as starters...you won't be disappointed...I know we never are. read more

As a family member has moved to Oceanside, we drove past this place a few times and finally decided to try it. Upon walking in I was reminded of a larger size Deli in Industrial areas. Kind of like Cooky's Deli in Holbrook. I ordered the Cuban sandwich. The pork had very good flavor and the sandwich was a rather large portion. The roasted peppers added a great flavor to it, but the only thing lacking was the amount of pickle on it. They use hamburger chips, and each side of the sandwich had four pickles. 8 all together, which sounds like a lot but in the middle of each side there was no pickle. They should move to spears, or slice the pickle so that it covers the entire sandwich. The Cuban is best when all flavors are working together, not a piece by piece flavor. Wifey got the bacon cheeseburger and she said it was good. Kind of like five guys, but thinner patties. The fries were good, they are unsalted when you get them. The Cole Slaw is very good nd you can tell it is homemade and not the stuff in the 5 gallon bucket. My brother got the Sesame Tuna Tataki salad. He asked for the Tuna medium and it came almost raw. It was still cold. My brother does not like raw fish, so he was disappointed. All in all this place is solid for the price. read more
