This is all you need to know: Philana is hands down, the best hair stylist in the city of Seattle…read more Whether you're going conservative or funky, want to relax or gossip, she'll give you exactly what you need (without you needing to ask, I might add). Your cut starts off with a lovely head massage, and perhaps a cup of coffee. Then a shampoo...condition...and boom! She's given you the precise look you were going for, even if you didn't have the words to tell her what you wanted. I've worked in the hair/spa industry for a few years, and I have to say, Philana is as good as it gets. Do yourself a favor and don't look around for a neighborhood salon that you've never been before "because its close, and its cheap, and...oh, all I need is a trim!" Save yourself the disappointment. Philana will rock your socks off :)

I have had some amazing stylist on my quest but unfortunately, not everyone knows how to work with extremely thin fine hair. I have experimented with extensions and wigs without any luck until someone showed me a video on Microline toppers. After doing some research I ended up in Michelle's chair. Michelle has been amazing! She is very accommodating and takes the time to explain the process and aftercare. She has been extremely responsive when I have follow up questions or concerns regarding my topper, as there is a huge learning curve. She is very thoughtful and creates a safe space for those of us who are follically challenged.

This is overdue but here it is!…read more After contemplating it forever, I finally cut my hair that was down to [the lowest part of] my lower back. Considering how last minute my commitment was, I was so so so fortunate to have found and been seen by Alpin. She gave me a beautiful short cut---slightly angled with some personality and texture. I got the cut just over two weeks ago, and it's settled amazing. She also spent time chatting with me beforehand to understand what I was really going for and needing (for me, that was ability to just throw in some waves and go) and then offered suggestions for that goal--she recommended a couple products if i wanted to let it air dry, and showed me some curling iron techniques to get that exact quick effortless look i was going for. Finally, Alpin assured me that as my new cut settled, she'd be happy to make any little tweaks or changes if I desired and to just let her know. Beautiful work, genuine personality. I will 100% be back!
