Soooooo good!! We were walking around king street and saw this couple with half a pineapple and a huge swirl of dole whip and we were like we HAVE to get that!! We had no clue where it was from but somehow randomly ran into the store walking back from the market. And boy were we happy we did! It hit the spot!! 10/10 this place is so yummy and honestly was reasonable price wise. Really wish they had a location in California where I live. read more

YUM. I was so impressed with this little food truck. The young lady working was so polite and friendly and delivered quick service. Only a block from the beach and located in a cute little area with a few other food trucks. We visited in May, so we were the only ones in line but I can imagine this place gets BUSY in the summer. I have been trying to make a stop at pineapple Hutt for the past couple years and I may be mistaken but I believe it used to have limited hours and was food truck so I was excited to see expanded hours and location! I definitely wasn't expecting it to be where it was but it's on the street running parallel to the city market. The line was long and the credit card machine was down so I had to get cash. However, the time I returned, it was up and running. I went with the peach and pineapple and it was good- peach tasted more on the artificial flavor but at least it's low calorie healthier choice! It is dairy free, vegan, gluten free, low calorie but honestly I'd have to say it looks better than it tastes. It's ice cream but it's not creamy- more so tastes like an icee but regardless, was refreshing and glad I finally had a chance to try it! read more

I've been hearing about this place for ages and finally got to try it today while visiting Folly - and it absolutely did not disappoint! I went with a regular pineapple and cherry swirl, and it was sooo good. On such a hot day, it was the perfect sweet treat to help cool me down. Honestly, I'd eat this every day if I could. My beloved Pineapple Hut! So light and refreshing, great pineapple flavor, and getting it IN the half pineapple with pineapple chunks at the bottom is for sure the way to go. It's a little cart/shop front and if you blink you might miss it, but it's so worth a visit while you're walking out and about downtown Charleston. I love pineapple so much that I came here twice during my visit to Charleston (in case you were wondering, yes, I was definitely the weird kid who liked pineapples on my pizza--and still do)! I was already sold on the pineapple whip alone but if you want to take it up a notice and upgrade, the Pineapple Float and Paradise Whip (basically a pineapple float IN a pineapple) will win you over either way. I couldn't bring myself to get the Paradise Whip since it comes in a huge portion, but I so would if I didn't come on a nearly full stomach on both occasions. There aren't a lot of non-dairy or lighter ice cream options nearby so this is the perfect refreshing treat if you need a lighter pick-me-up. It's a great spot with plenty of seating outside of a food hall in a super busy area to chill out. If you are visiting Folly Beach, SC, this is the place to get a nice ice cream dessert! My husband and I stopped by while we were walking around the small downtown of Folly Beach. It was centrally located & easy to find. Even though 1 person was running the "hut", we were served and ready to go within 5-7 minutes during the afternoon rush. Really fun treat on a hot summer day, I truly appreciated that they had vegan options. Service was quick and when we went there was no line and it was clean and efficient. The only downside is that there is no where to sit. So you literally have a huge delicious treat and you're in the middle of downtown (looking at a shaded, fan cooled seating area next door for paying patrons only that you CANNOT access) and you're kind of stuck.) Still worth it. It's that kind of good. read more

The perfect refreshing snack on a hot day! It's conveniently located in downtown Charleston, close to city market for a quick stop by but I do recommend also grabbing lunch or a drink while enjoying some live music as it's right outside of Port of Call Food and Beer Hall. There's an outdoor sitting area with a bar that had live music on a Saturday afternoon or additional tables inside. There's a few options on the menu with various combos of pineapple goodness and topping options but I opted for the traditional. It's only an extra dollar for the large size and reasonably priced at $6! It was just around the corner from our hotel so we went twice and absolutely loved it! read more

Leaving Folly Beach, we stopped to The Pineapple Hut for a treat on the way home. First time having them, as recommended by one of my friends in the group. I love all things pineapple (except on pizza), so I had to try this. I ordered their Pineapple Float, which has pineapple juice in the bottom, then their pineapple whip on the top of the cup. The whip is a dairy free soft serve. It was very light and not very sweet. Had a straw for the juice, so I tasted that prior to anything melting in it. The juice wasn't cold, which was disappointing. I think cold Pineapple juice would've made it excellent. It was a refreshing dessert. They have a few toppings that you can add yourself.
