The inside is very spacious and gives a very relaxed atmosphere. For the prix fixe meal, we chose: Ajvar and Pita, Mozzarella Sticks, Hanger Steak, Jelly Crepes, and the chocolate cake. Everything was amazing from start to finish. I can't believe this is probably the best steak I've had in a very long time. At first glance, I was hoping to get some steak sauce, but as it turns out, it wasn't necessary at all. They have tenderized this steak and seasoned it incredibly. It was a very soft, juicy, and delicious piece of meat that needed no sauce. I was also a huge fan of the jelly crepes for dessert. They were very fluffy and had the right amount of blueberry filling. I was conflicted between getting the jelly or the nutella filling, but I knew I would be satisfied either way given how the meal went so far. I also really appreciate the good variety of dishes they have on both their restaurant week and regular menu. Needless to say Balkan Fusion was a very pleasant surprise that blow every expectation out of the water. I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

The husband started with a cup of Borsch soup, very flavorful with a nice mix of beets and carrots. Then we shared the Hummus Platter appetizer. Nicely done with Kalamata olives, celery, cucumber, carrots and pita bread. The main event included Musaka and Turli Tave. The musaka was layered up with potatoes, ground beef & pork, topped with egg and cheese with a side salad of cabbage in a vinegar dressing. The flavors were very good and there was enough to feed two. The turli tava was really tasty. It was in a stew form and plentiful. It came with pita bread which allowed him to wipe the crock clean, as a good Italian is taught. The final scene included Honey Cake and Tulumba. The cake was finely layered and extremely decadent. The tulumba were also very good, small fried dough similar to churros, but soaked in simple syrup. Alex (chef owner) and his wife Monica (server), along with their little guy Noah were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Definitely a return trip in the future for us. If you are in the neighborhood and hungry, give them a try. Don't worry, they have stuff on the menu for the non-adventurous. It's a BYOB too, that's a plus. Check them out, 17th and New York Avenues, N Wildwood.

Excellent food, both in taste and visual presentation (bravo chef, and thank you for the meet & greet). Excellent service, thank you Shawna for being so kind, explaining the menu, and making us feel warm and special. Bread/water guy (sorry didn't catch your name) was also always on it refilling water, and offering bread without being asked. Alex, also gets a shout out for the service and attention! All the variety of breads and butter (esp the ramp/onion butter) were delicious, chicken/truffle tortellini app, crab salad, lamb entree, dover sole entree, pear/yuzu dessert, strawberry cake were my favorites. Thank you also for the birthday treat :) we will be back again!

Hard to find an elegant restaurant like this anymore where the food and ambiance are superb. Being a bit "old-school" about fancy restaurants, I like getting dressed up and going to a place that feels special. This is the place. Not only is the food delicious, but expertly presented. An amazing bread basket that I had to refrain from eating too much as I knew my dinner would be rich and filling. Also, the cocktails are superb. Even though many restaurants now serve specialty cocktails, they don't always live up to expectations. Here at Bas Rouge they are mixed beautifully. One should be aware that, although I believe you can order al a carte, it's mainly a three/four or seven course menu. NOTE: I was extremely dismayed to see that they had foie gras on the menu. Especially seeing that this restaurant is named after I believe the owner's breed of dog that he loves, I believe foie gras, as many people do, is animal cruelty to produce. They also serve veal that again, is usually from animals confined to crates that stunt their growth. Sorry for the bummer ending, just stating what I believe is factual.

Good experience - could have been better…read more We came in for Christmas Eve dinner and enjoyed our time with some notes. The Christmas Eve menu was a price fix. For the appetizer section they had a lovely sounding beet salad which our entire table picked only to be told they were sold out - how you sell out of a salad on a price fixe menu when you only have 3 options I am unsure but regardless we were not interested in any of the other options so our lovely server and manager made us a Greek salad instead which was great. For my main I had the crab cakes which couldn't have been better. I loved every bit of them. Finally for dessert I had the pistachio baklava which to be honest was not great but that's alright. Service was impeccable. Ambiance is interesting, we didn't realize this was a hotel as well and the hotel reception is quite literally in the restaurant which threw me off a bit but otherwise the ambiance was fine. Overall I don't know that I am rushing back to Sirocco but I wouldn't say to stay away either.

The only reason we picked Vegas is because my daughter loved the old school look from the outside and said she loved diners. I'm glad that Vegas caught her eye.. and that it's old school charm didn't stop at the door. Nice amount of parking, clean, Elizabeth was our server and she was very pleasant. You don't wait long for your food and it comes out delicious and fresh! I order a side of chipped beef and I should have order much more because my mom who said she just wanted to try it... ate most of mine! It was so good. Reminds me of my late father who loved it. Such an old school meal that is becoming a rarity. Executed perfectly. My omelette was great... my daughter's pancakes were delicious. We left full and happy! Can't wait to return when we come back to visit the Wildwood area.
