This review is long overdue. I wanted to order a pecan pie for my husband's birthday. After many phone calls to other bakeries to no avail, I called The Pie Guy. I left a vm & was called back swiftly. My husband and I arrived on his birthday after a nice aesthetically pleasing drive. We were met at the door by a lovely woman and our pie. That day entailed an outing for lunch & a trip to the beach along with dinner, but we finally arrived home to try the pie. First, I rarely eat sweets, but in memory of my dad who loved pecan pie, & in celebration of my husband's special day, I had to try just a little. The pecan pie was hands down the best I've ever had. The crust was delightful, the balance of sweetness was perfect, and I loved that the pecans were chopped and caramelized. My husband absolutely loved it! A random house that we found while going on the highway to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Surprised it has a Yelp page since it is some random person's house. But overall this was a pretty cool experience and we are all so glad that we stopped by here. We got a slice of pecan pie and coconut. There's a fridge right before the door and it is an honor system where you put the cash in this black box. The pies themselves were so so delicious!!! Best pies on the Westside! It is worth the drive up to their little self service porch. There's a mini fridge with pies and you drop the cash in their container. Or you can be lucky like me and catch them stocking up the fridge. I meet the nicest grandma/auntie(?) who was handing out freshly baked pies to the myself and the folks who were waiting around me. She took my cash directly and was very friendly. The berry pies are the best in my opinion. Full fruit, tart and not too sweet. Crunchy topping too! The cream/cold pies have paler crusts but they're still delicious. read more

We'd discovered these pies at the Orenco Station Farmers Market. I found myself craving one yesterday and feeling sad the season of the market was over. Luckily I recalled the name of the booth and decided to check to see if they sell elsewhere. Turns out they sell right off of their porch via a refrigerator and cash box (or via online payment). We drove out the day before Thanksgiving, so we weren't getting our hopes up for a lot of options. They had about 10 smalls available that day. We grabbed a chocolate, which we'd never had from them, and a razzle berry, my fav. Both the filling flavors were just fabulous. However the pie crusts this time were much more pale than when we'd had them previously (much prefer them with more color) Luckily the crumble on the razzle was nice and crunchy. Overall not quite as good as we'd bought before at the farmer's market, but they were still very tasty and much appreciated. read more

My family and I came by, we grabbed Marionberry, coconut, chocolate, and peach. Delicious and wonderful. This has been on my bucket list to go to for a few years and I just haven't had the time or remembered it to go. Well...now I've gone...and I can't stop going back. I have tried, coconut, marionberry, chocolate, pumpkins, apple and pecan pie. Our favorites have been Coconut, Marionberry, and Pecan Pie. I'm not a huge pecan fan, but since trying this pie, I am. The location is such a nice drive, I don't mind it at all. And it's a honor system, you can pay via cash or Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or square if you need but I think you'll need to ring the doorbell. I read many of the reviews before coming here, but let me tell you, there are no words that really can describe these pies. I picked up the pecan and sour cream lemon, and I now regret not bringing $100 to buy more. The pecan is beyond amazing and the sour cream lemon was perfect. Just enough tang and sweet and sour. I don't know what they put in these, and I don't really care. I just want to make sure to try every pie they have. I cant wait to go back and get more. It's a little uneasy at first because you are walking up to someone's house, but now I just cant wait to go back and buy more. Next time I will bring a cold bag because the drive for me is a little far, but so, so worth it. read more

SO DELICOUS! This was my first time trying a marion berry pie and I was not disappointed. I went to the South Waterfront Farmers Market and saw this stand selling pies. $7 for a small pie, why not? The crust was thin and not too doughy and the top of the pie was so crunchy! The sweetness of the crust paired perfectly with the tanginess of the marion berry. The marion berries (similar to blackberries) do have seeds, so be careful if children are eating! I wish I ate the pie with vanilla ice cream - that would've been heavenly! read more

A maybe-not-so-secret dessert shop out northwest of North Plains maybe about 10 minutes off 26. Lately the pies have been kept up on the front porch of the house (in a little fridge) rather than in the roadside stand. Look thru the offerings and pay for what you'd like to take home. Exact cash or check. Small pies are $6 and will feed 2-3 people (or do your best solo haha). Every flavor we've tried has been just great, like imagine the epitome of banana cream and ×boom× Pie Guy has made it reality. Made the detour out into the countryside during a roadtrip drive from So Cal to Seattle. TOTALLY worth the detour! A winding countryside full of beautiful two lane roads made this adventure an incredible experience. Pulled up to the gravel driveway after about a 40 minute drive and found a sign directing me to the next driveway where an " honor system" money slot and a small fridge full of delicious treats waited. Couldn't decide which would be the best so, left with THREE delicious pies. Razzleberry, Marionberry and Peach/Berry. What a delightful experience to be trusted to pay for what you take....Never happens in the city any more! Continued the road trip drive completely anxious to try out the treats in the back seat! Finally arrived in Seattle and made sure to stop and get some Tilamook Vanilla Bean Ice Cream before stopping. WOW! What a delicious array of flavors! Gotta say...Marionberry wins the prize but, you can't go wrong with anything The Pie Guy puts together! I'll be stopping by on the drive south next time! I found The Pie Guy at the South Waterfront Farmer's Market on a Thursday. These pies are out of this world! The crust reminds me of shortbread cookies, super buttery and a perfect balance of sweetness. I have tried 2 different flavors of pies now: brumbleberry and pecan. Both were excellent! This man knows his way around pies. Have been buying his pies for 4 years and you simply can't go wrong. They taste like you baked them in your home kitchen. If you have ever driven to his farm in North Plains, Oregon you will see he bakes out of his home shop and you can't get any fresher without baking them yourself. I went for another trip from Amity up to The Pie Guy and picked up a large Chocolate and Coconut Cream pie and a really hot out of the oven Pecan pie. From my previous experience I was pleased with the fillings but the Coconut Cream pie could use a little added coconut flakes in the filling as well and the crust used was a letdown (except for the Pecan pie crust) The Pecan pie was a bit runny and not as good as the one I had before. I still give this place a hearty recommendation though. read more

I've seen the Pie Guy at various farmers' markets over the years and have always enjoyed the variety of flavors and quality of the pies. They're definitely more expensive than the ones you'd buy at the grocery but I love the different sizes - there's no pressure to try and finish a whole pie before it goes bad. Plus I don't mind paying more for good quality. I was surprised to see a 24 hour stand existed in North Plains and went to check it out. There's a full menu of the possible flavors, prices with an honor system for paying, and a fridge containing the pies that need to be kept cold. It says they're always open which means you can find a quality pie anytime you want one! 5 stars. read more

Absolutely love this place! It started out in a little building that was completely self serve, and very cute! But somebody ruined that by breaking into it one night. That didn't stop this lovely family from continuing on and selling the pies from their house. They are hands down the best pies you can get! They are made consistently and with love. This guy is truly the master Of his craft, I mean delicious pies at their door step. They are all good. I drive 40 minutes to partake in these pies. There's a passion in these pies and it shows. I called the pie guy On a Tuesday needed an extra large brumbleberry, he's says "when do you need it". I replied Thursday is good around 2. He was on it, So I arrived there at 135 thinking just Be a little early to grab the pie, wasn't there. I called him he answers we discuss my pick up order. He says " joe you said 2, it in the oven now". He says be about another 20-25 minutes. I mean I'll wait for pie right Out the oven. Who wouldn't. I wait and out comes this amazing lady with a boxed pie. She tells me " I'll put it on the floorboard because it's really Hot. Oh my. This tandem duo work magic there. By far my favorite pie!! Confessions: I don't normally like pie but have a soft spot for pumpkin pie. Often, most places have that crazy artificially flavored pie. Try one from WF (acquired by Bezos) and compare to the wholesale pie that is huge and cheap. You'll taste the difference. Despite spending that much on a WF pie---it has nothing on pie guy pie. Everywhere I go, I buy a pumpkin pie to try and compare. I have a running list of them in order of my preference but Pie Guy reigns supreme. It tastes like homemade pie because it is. So when I'm feeling too lazy to make a pie, I find the stand at the local farmers market. read more
