My hair came out a dark brown/near-black, where the inspo photo I walked through with the colorist is a warm caramel balayage with golden highlights, pretty light overall not this dark mess I have. But the worst part was what happened after. Before I even had a chance to process the results, staff started loudly asking me to pay in cash -- repeatedly, every few minutes, in front of a full salon. It was embarrassing and felt more like harassment than customer service. I shouldn't have to feel pressured and humiliated after dropping money on a service that didn't deliver. Won't be back. The appointment was for my 3 year old and I'm due to give birth with my 2nd in less than a week but I say no problem. The receptionist says great we'll see you in half an hour. I then come back in half an hour and I ask if the hair stylist is ready. The receptionist says no that she needs 5 more minutes but I can leave if I don't want to wait. This was pretty frustrating and I asked why they wouldn't just call me if she's running that behind and ask me to come later? The receptionist only mentioned that the stylist is just that busy. I wait another couple of minutes and ask again if the stylist is ready. At this point im tired of waiting and ask to get an actual estimated time she will be ready. I see the receptionist go up to the stylist and I see that the stylist is annoyed with the questions. I feel that when you have such a "popular" stylist that people should be better at scheduling their appointments for them. A phone call to say she's running an hour behind would have been great to receive, and the stylist could have taken 2 minutes to check in with me and see what can be done to accommodate me since I wasn't late. The stylist ran behind and should have tried to remedy the problem. At the end I left, it was obvious they didn't care for my business since the stylist is that popular. Overall I was very disappointed and won't return.

Upon arriving you can either park in front off Merrick Rd, or there is a parking lot and additional entrance in the back. I was scheduled with Victoria for a blowout - she was very friendly and easy to talk too, and most importantly, she listened to what I wanted! I initially wanted to try a blowout with curls, but let her know I usually opt for straight hair, so I may or may not like the curls despite my request to try something different. After curling my hair, which originally looked great, unfortunately the style itself was just not for me. She was very easy to provide feedback too and let me know her main priority was that I walked out happy. We worked together until the style was right, and I walked out loving my hair!!

The staff was nice, the salon was clean and pleasant and didn't smell like harsh chemicals or smoke (you'd be surprised by how many do). It had a subtle ambiance perfect for a weekend cut. I had Lisa cut my hair and besides the wash, she was the only person doing my hair. That was so unexpected because at other salons I would have multiple people doing my hair due to double or triple booking and only have the main stylist check in every now and then. I was so happy to have the focus entirely on me especially because I was super nervous as I have had bad experience with salons before. Lisa was patient and knew exactly what I wanted from my brief description. She did the cut in steps so I wouldn't be too shell shocked by the end result and asked for my feedback about layering. Most people who hear the words "I haven't gotten a haircut in a while" immediately want to push a full chop onto their client, but Lisa evaluated my hair and suggested we keep the length and even out the ends/cut off all the dead hair. She gave me a bunch of tips about maintaining my hair's health so I can get it to the next stage that I want (eventual bleach). And on top of that, the cut was extremely affordable!!!
