The Perfect Cup is snuggled in nicely in the "loud" section of the central market (I say loud as the grocers at nearby Fred McMahons & Three Amigos will yell out their prices at paserbys and if one starts, the other soon follows, and the Angelakis butchers and fishmongers also join in the din) and is almost a little refuge from the hustle and bustle of the market.
The Perfect Cup isn't just about coffee, it offers a wide range of the savoury and the sweet and also has a wide range of teas available. The few times I have eaten here I have enjoyed the sweets and loved my baguette, but enough about the inconsequential, now to the coffee.
Calling yourself the Perfect Cup does invite certain expectations and as Elissa L., stated in her review, the Perfect Cup doesn't make 'perfect' coffee, but it is pretty good. Compared to the major chains around Adelaide, it is excellent, put is unfortunately pipped by two excellent coffee makers in the area (The Grind @ Stall 14 in the Market and Troppo's on Sturt St). I found my cappuccino to be a bit too hot and the coffee a touch too roasted, but this is my own taste. My market shopping buddy on the other hand, loves this place to pieces and we normally start here after a quick coffee to begin our shopping adventures.
The Perfect Cup also has a great range of coffee making appliances and beans and the variety is rather exciting! read more
