Great coffee guys! The single origin Guatemala was amazing! Our go to place when visiting from Melb Food is simple no nonsense and nourishing. The staff are excellent and very personable.

I met Coffee Branch on Monday. They knew me by my name on Tuesday. I used it as my office on Wednesday... and on Thursday. And by Friday, I realised I couldn't leave Adelaide without popping in and saying goodbye as I'll genuinely miss spending time there. And while you may think that's how every café experience goes (or Craig David song, for that matter) it's not. Well, I'm not entirely sure on the Craig David front... You see, it's not just the fantastic coffee that makes Coffee Branch great, nor is it the tasty sandwiches, although they were brilliant in their own right - it's the people inside - both staff and customer. If you're looking for a hub, this is your spot. I quickly learned that inside Coffee Branch is a veritable who's who of everything awesome happening in Adelaide. (Including coffee making.) And the greatest thing? Knowing that I was looking to meet cool and interesting people, the staff had no problem making introductions, recommending contacts, and even inviting me to upcoming events and restaurant launches. The only problem with this place? It's not in my neighbourhood.

Baristas who remember your name, have beards and ironic mustaches and bang out a quick, smooth coffee while engaging you in non-idle conversation are worth this kind of rave. Coffee Branch are doing everything right from their coffee and knowledge about it (for the better informed than I), their hole in the wall layout that manages to house enough people having weekday meetings and their service/hot men with beards/same thing. Their biggest flaw is that they aren't open weekends and this really does nearly kill me when I have friends from interstate in town and want to brag about this place to them! The guys that run this place are also always active in making Leigh St a destination on weeknights, hosting pop-up bars and activities with the rest of the crew on the street. Round of applause for these boys, looking forward to seeing more!

This is probably one if the best coffee establishments in Adelaide. They've set the shop up in a very unique fashion, with bikes mounted on walls and cosy stools to sit on inside; radiates a very sexy vibe. The coffee itself is fabulous, its just the right temperature and beautifully brewed, almost on par if not better than some if the coffees I've had in Melbourne and believe me, Melbourne coffee is really hard to beat in Adelaide. The service is also great, friendly and hard working crew; genuinely interested in customer satisfaction.

I liked coffee branch for a smaller coffee spot it made great use of space; there is room for at least 4 or 5 people to dine in and outdoor tables for another dozen. The coffee was excellent and served very quickly even first thing during the morning rush; and they had plenty of food option including some healthier choices such as granola.

    A shady option before noon.

There are few things wrong with this spot. Near the Currie street end of Leigh street it is understandably a hot spot for office workers and people using it as a social meeting spot. Alexis has come here more than a few times to share an Americano with a friend. A coffee not necessarily on their list but as I came here first after a holiday in South America an had become a fan of the style, they were flexible and knowledgable enough to cater for my tastes. A small area outside for those wanting the brisk breeze that comes up the street (particularly nice in summer before noon as you're in the shade) They have a few food options and they are reasonably priced. When Leigh Street is closed for a festival event they make a good base from which to work from.

Well, the first thing I asked my colleagues when I arrived to work out of our Adelaide office was where I could go to get a good cup of tea, and they were unanimous in recommending this place. So, the very next moring I made a beeline here to grab a cup of tea. That was fortuante because it was the last day that they were open before they closed for the Christmas break. Unfortunately that meant I missed out on trying their coffee (because I generally only have tea in the morning). All I can say is that it was definitely worth it. When I first walked past here the place immediately caught my eye, so the recommendation only encouraged me. The staff were great, and while it might not have been the cheapest, it was still pretty good. I would definitely come back here again.

This place is cleverly positioned between the offices of Grenfell and Waymouth, and the ramshackle Hindley St. It gets a lot of attention from coffee addicts, especially those who run their own businesses near Hindley - it's a bit of a coffee desert down there. Personally, I'm here for the lunch snacks! The Burger Theory truck actually drew me in one day, and after a nose around inside I thought I'd come back and try their food. Sour dough sandwiches, cannoli, zuchinni slice. All very reasonably priced. In general, the vibe of the place is pretty nice - a good place for a quick meeting or a catch up with friends. The wood interior is airy and pleasant, and it's nice to see bikes used as a decorative feature. The guys in charge seem pretty nice too - I think this business is really taking off.

Vegan version of their avocado toast

Superb spot to grab coffee or a Matcha if you're not a coffee drinker like me. I have never had a Matcha latte as creamy as this one with almond milk before. They really know their craft here. The avocado toast was pricey, $18, but I'm not from Australia so maybe it's normal here? Aside from the price, the toast was delicious!!! Very flavorful and generously packed with smashed avo. Definitely a place that I plan to make my usual stop to

The menu is large and interesting enough with not too many "generic" options except the ones you want such as Chocolate Fondu for 2 or 4. I had a Banana, Peanut Butter, Cookies, Vanilla Custard, Creamy concoction in a jar which was topped with icecream very very delish and beautifully presented. My companions had waffles, ice-cream and a yummy chocolate and berry mousse/pudding. All were very pleased with their orders and there was a lot of "would you mind if I had a fork full?" going on. Coffee and desserts came out all together and our table was cleared in an appropriate amount of time after we had finished our plates. Being a group of 6 is probably a little too large for the small outdoor space on the sidewalk with round tables and various chair heights, but we made it work. The only down side to this spot is that the coffee is "good" not "awesome"

Luckily, a table had just left, with a quick clean of the table - we were seated. Decor - Candles! I love candlelit places at night, the chairs were also quite comfy, some places which have the same modern/sleek vibe to it like this place, have uncomfortable plastic or metal chairs, but we were seated in comfortable cushy bliss for your butt! We ordered - I had the Cherry Ripe Waffle and one of their 'house specialities' the St Louis Hot Chocolate' Waffles: I have to admit I was disappointed in the waffle, this is what pushed it down to 3 stars rather than 4. The waffle was warm, but it tasted like it had been reheated, or simply defrosted and stuck in a microwave. It wasn't crunchy or fresh, the texture was chewy and dry. I chose this dish because it mentioned white chocolate and almonds, it was presented on the plate, but the white chocolate tasted like melted white chocolate buttons from the local supermarket, too sugary and it hard almost hardened when I tried to scoop it up to put on my waffle. The 'French Vanilla Ice Cream' tasted distinctively like Bulla Vanilla ice cream. The cherries, and cherry glaze were delicious though. The Hot chocolate: Average more or less, it was a good hot chocolate, but I've had better in most other places, for a house special, again I was hoping for a bit more, but I might be a little harsh here, as my friend said he absolutely loved it. I'd order it again if I came here, and that is usually a good sign. They had free water available for patrons, in the water was such things as citrus; oranges, lemons, lychee, and strawberry, I thought that was a little fancy. It was a nice touch to the place. If I came here again, I'd avoid the waffles completely, as they were sub-par. But the venue is a nice place, with a positive atmosphere. Why no white hot chocolate? This makes me sad.

When that has happened I do try other types of coffee from his available collection, but mostly it's the Mexican Organic I go for. Ross and his team have a very good range and even though it is an expensive item, some things in life just have to be right before I can deal with them. I do not like the effects of instant coffee on my system, I almost always end up with a stomach gripe if I drink instant coffee, and you simply don't want to know about that. So I usually drink plunger coffee, it is one of my special things in life I suppose. As far as The Coffee Bean Shop goes they stock a range of implements to create coffee in - mostly the little Italian stove-top espresso jugs, but I tend not to favour them because they are made from aluminium and I understand that too much aluminium heated and exposed to something you then drink can cause some brain function problems over time - just something I read that has stuck. That's why I plunge, but you know, the occasional aluminium jug espresso coffee is no big deal. They do the grinding for you if you need it done, and they use a range of coffee packets that are a nice plane brown bag, so its a pretty sustainable system. Their selection of products includes some pre-ground coffee beans in little plastic pails with a lid, a variety of fragrant and tasty teas, blends of the tea, and the coffee and tea making equipment I mentioned above plus other stuff and some specialty sweets that you'd have with a beverage, or give as a gift - try a chocolate coated coffee bean - wow!

It looks amazing, they really did a great job. I am happy to see that this stall got updated as it is often one of the first stall you see when entering the Markets from the carpark escalators. The staff at this stall are always very friendly and happy to have a chat about the different varieties of coffee and what they taste like. You will find some amazing beans from all over the world. In particular my partner and I are quite fond of the Organic Mexican beans. Full flavour while being quite creamy and nutty. If you have a tighter budget, why not try their house blends. They are not too bad, the espresso blend is probably the best they offer in that range. If you need ground beans, they will grind them to the style that suits your brew equipment. We prefer to grind them at home to ensure that the coffee is fresh. If you are searching for a gift for a coffee lover, look no further! Purchase them an Aeropress which are sold here. They are a single cup air pressure plunger. They make the perfect brew away from home. My partner loves his and uses it at work every day!
