Not all their alcohol is on tThis place is just getting underway, and it's doing pretty well considering the only signage it has is a small sign out the front of James Place and word of mouth. I can see it having a sort of Kitsch vibe to it, when it begins to kick off. Currently, the decor reminds me of a sort of old timey milk bar or old school burlesque bar. With rich reds and gold accents. This place is definitely more for a quiet drink among friends, and not for a wild party or night out.
It is a wonderful place to start the night. The place is owned by the same people who ran 'Tuxedo Cat'. The service whilst new, was very friendly. With booth seats just a few feet from the bar you could order a drink without the need to stand, or yell. It felt more like visiting a friend for a drink than a bar.
It currently has a very limited menu (Their menus are glued into time weathered books, a different approach for an alcoholic venue) when it comes to alcoholic drinks, their ciders are lovely - I found that if you asked for something that was not on the menu, they would check - and do their best to accommodate you.
I even got a chance to speak to the owner, who was absolutely lovely. It's really nice to be able to go to a place, and have a casual drink with the owner.
This place has small beginnings, but I am expecting to blossom into a wonderful little bar.
