She was very enthusiastic about my options for a massage here, and immediately tried up-selling me with the most expensive option, the 4-Hand Massage. She said "two girls are better than one" and who can argue with that, so I decided to give it a try. Looking at the prices, turns out there isn't any volume advantage with four hands vs. two, so unless you want to spend twice as much, this really doesn't make a lot of sense. Since the cost was so high, I opted for 30 min instead of 60 min. Since that's not a lot of time, and it takes time for me to relax, it didn't seem like much of a value. They can cover you quicker, but since you would get the same coverage in an hour, this would only be an advantage if you were in a hurry. So it could have its place. If you think you've tried everything these spas have to offer give it a shot. And consider checking out other options that look intriguing here, like the sea-salt massage, no idea what that is. The room for the couples massage is a good amount of space and not cramped. There's only one restroom in their facility for the customers. - Location. Pretty good and easy to find. There's also parking nearby, which is helpful, because they're downtown. - Health insurance. My husband and I are tourists, so we paid out of pocket, but it appears they take health insurance, which is great. You can fill out health insurance information when you schedule online and I heard their staffer confirm another couples' insurance, who had just finished and was on their way out when we arrived. What's not - 50 minutes instead of a full hour. I'm bummed their massage doesn't go for the full hour, especially due to the price. - Price. To be fair, they're more reasonable than other massage services, which is why I chose them. As mentioned previously, that it's $129 for less than 1 hour seems a bit high. - Website. By the way, if you book a couples massage, be aware of booking each one separately. The first time I tried it, I double booked for myself. King Thai Massage did not mention that they would not be covered by SunLife and when my husband put the claim in through later that night it was rejected as King Thai Massage is a delisted provider. I am now out $60 on something I assumed would be 100% covered. I requested some accommodation by just refunding me the $25 RMT premium and the location refused. I asked for a package with body massage and reflexology here. It started with body massage - I expected deep tissue massage but it felt just gentle rubbing with slow kneading. So, I said to the masseur that I prefer more pressure - then in a few seconds, without any words, she started to apply pressures that were too strong to the point where I had to stop. I would say it was violent. I may be wrong, but I felt that she was upset by my asking for more pressure. It was too strong and later when I went home, I found bruise on the shoulder. I had to apply muscle pain relief ointment for a few days. And reflexology - I expected targeted pressure to specific points on the back of the feet, but the masseur kept rubbing my calf and instep. Again, I asked for pressure to the sole of my feet. She did not target pressure to the points - just rubbed harder on my sole a few minutes. Then she was back to gentle rubbing on my calf and instep. After the massage, she brought hot towel to wrap my feet to finish up, which was VERY hot. After this process, she threw the towels onto the floor, and left, that was it. I felt harmed rather than relaxed. And felt miserable. Probably, I had a bad luck, because many people review this place positively. But I just wanted to leave this review as there may be a gap between like-minded customers' expectations and what they can actually offer.
