Several handymen and contractors told me my door was basically shot and would need to be replaced. Not true. Owen took one look and knew immediately what the issue was. He repaired everything in about an hour and a half, doing detailed, thorough work--fixing the sliding glass door, track, and handle (which had come loose from how difficult the door was to open and close), and even repairing the adjacent screen door, which we were convinced would also need to be replaced. I can see why The Patio Door Guy has such great reviews. I would give him 10 stars if possible. Had a problem with an older heavy glass patio door that wouldn't slide. I sent Kemlyn a picture, and he knew right away what the issue was, very knowledgeable. He gave me a fair price for what needed to be done, which included reinforcing the bottom of the cracked door frame to hold the roller from slipping, replacing the track with new stainless steel, tightening the handle and doing an overall cleanup and maintenance. I also let him know there was an issue with the sliding screen door, which he doesn't usually work on, but he went ahead and adjusted it anyway and it works much better. You couldn't ask for better service, and a great attitude. HIGHLY recommend and will be using him on all my patio door repairs. read more

You know what's a shame? The fact that we might not see Owen for another 20 years. He did such a thorough job and went above and beyond, I don't think our patio door is going to need service for another two decades. I tried over the weekend to get the door out and to try to replace the rollers myself. Couldn't figure it out. So in comes the professional and within minutes he had the door sitting outside ready for replacement rollers. But before he just slapped on any ol' pair of brass rollers, he noticed a screw had rust on it. So out he went, grabbing alternative parts from his vehicle to replace everything with stainless steel parts. Back to the frame and rail. After taking the old rail out, he went and cleaned everything out before popping in a new rail. Once he got the door back on, he noticed that the end covers were getting ground down from sliding on the rail. So he cut notches in them and screwed them in place. He missed nothing. Before departing, he lubricated everything and left us with two spare adjustment screw covers. Really don't think he left a stone unturned. Fantastic service. Don't bother looking elsewhere. He did a complete, thorough job, which included replacing the insulation/weather stips. He also fixed my security door lock at no additional charge. I have original aluminum patio sliding door that was from 1971. He charged me $250, and it works like new. Glass sliding door broke. Wouldn't open or close unless you lifted the whole glass door. Mr Owen showed up on time worked on it for about an hour. Replaced parts and adjusted everything on the sliding glass door. Now it works like it was new again. I guess you're not suppose to put WD40 on the sliding roller and it could end up damaging the door even more. He knew what he was doing and did a great job. I cannot recommend The Patio Door Guy highly enough. I bought my home in the last couple years and have always cursed these sliding doors and accompanying screens. (I have to admit I was downright giddy when I learned there was a service for patio door maintenance.) The owner is very responsive and the stars must have aligned because he was able to come within 24 hours of me calling (your mileage may vary).
