Review Big and Little Event company has hosted a few events…read morefor me and I am always beyond pleased! The first event was a housewarming party back in 2020 with a 12 foot charcuterie "grazing" table as the main event! Along with drinks, decorations and of course balloons. It was perfect for a young, single woman. Flash forward to this May 2025 where they hosted the best "sunshine" birthday party to celebrate my daughter's first birthday. It was outside....complete with a balloon backdrop, goodie bags, cupcakes, snacks, activities for the kids and more. It took so much work off of my plate and helped me relax while getting to enjoy her party. Haley, Haley and Pye are so easy to work with and communicate with. They are prompt and even help setup and breakdown after the party! I love them so much, Big and Little Event company will be helping with my three year old's "Pirate" birthday party this weekend. Please choose them for all of your party needs... you will not be disappointed! Greatest of all, they worked with my budget and were well beneath my means. I give them two thumbs up!

The charcuterie board and balloon arch they created for the baby shower were top notch and the truly made my baby's first birthday a magical experience! They handled set up and take down for me so I was not stressed and could really enjoy the day. They are really the best, you will be so glad you hired them!

This is a hot venue so we did have to book in January 2022 for our September 2023 wedding. Cheyenne…read morewas on top of all the details and made me feel secure throughout the planning process about the status of our event. Although there were still a lot of pieces we had to coordinate ourselves, Cheyenne was regularly checking in, staying up to date on our plans, and giving helpful recommendations as we went along. Our only two bumps we hit were with the timeline for our day and the ballroom itself. When booking the event our ceremony was booked for 5pm-6pm and our reception was booked for 7pm-12am. When booking I had asked what would happen with the hour in between and was told it would be a cocktail hour so I thought nothing of it. When we were about a month out from the event Cheyenne reached out to let us know that it was a mistake and asked if we wanted to bump our reception up. Since we had already printed and sent invitation showing the end time as midnight we were not wanting to do this. Thankfully, Cheyenne and the event team were willing to work with us to make it right and extended our reception to be 6pm-12am at no additional cost to us. The other bump was that in the year and a half between booking the venue and our event, renovations were done to The Crystal that we were not notified of. I discovered them when we went for our food tasting and we saw the room for the first time since booking. The room is almost fully mirrored and they had applied an antique glass effect to them that I really disliked. There wasn't anything we could do about this with the event being less than 2 months out and the other reception spaces being booked. This was disappointing, but ultimately on the day of just didn't matter at all. I only wish we had been given a heads up at the time of renovations so that we could have pivoted plans to a space that was more our aesthetic and vibe. Our ceremony was held on The Lawn at Hotel Covington. I can't say for certain, but I think there were at least two other weddings happening at the venue on our date. Initially this made me nervous, but you could hardly tell. Our party wasn't interrupted at all! The Lawn is absolutely stunning and was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony! It was also a fun bonus that my room in the hotel overlooked The Lawn. As I was getting ready throughout the day I could look out and see the florists progress, I could see our guests arrive, and I could watch my husband process down the aisle with his parents. I'll also note that the hotel is pet friendly which was amazing! We had our dog in our wedding and she was able to stay overnight with us. It was super convenient to have her participate in our ceremony, and then to be able to drop her off up in our hotel room before heading over to the reception! Our reception was in The Crystal Ballroom. It was nice to be right on the first floor and the space comfortably held our ~150 guest wedding with room to spare! I only wish the tables had been more spread out and spread further back towards the entrance of the room. They felt very cramped together which seemed unnecessary given all the space that was open at the end of the room. The price tag looks steep at first glance, it ended up being on par with other more venues we looked at once you factored in caterer, bar services, decor rentals, tables/chairs, and linens. I highly recommend for couples looking to have a smoother planning experience with less moving parts from outside vendors.

This is a great added bonus if throwing a party where children are to be in attendance. From the balcony the playground is visible. Difficult to make a long story short but I payed in full a year before when I booked, being told the gazebo in the back would be fully decorated for fall complete with mums ,pumpkins etc for the couple's final dance. My daughter talked of little else to cap off her night.I requested china service for dinner which apparently wasn't noted in the managers notes.approximately 5 hours before the event I was verifying china and was told no,it wasn't in her notes sorry. I replied sorry doesn't fix anything go ahead and set it up.no go. Additionally the bridal party was for 12 they set up for 8 ,when pointed out simply brought more chairs to an already crowded table to ends,my girls brought chairs for their table.my guests reported the limited beer selection was warm as well as the wine.they did not reserve a table for myself and father as requested so we arrived from church with no place to sit.The catering service cut 2/3 of the cake and left so I look over to family cutting cake.I brought this to the managers attention who said they only cut part of the cake?! ( the top was not to be reserved and already cut.) The outdoor gazebo had zero decorations even though I brought it up the day before.the bathroom door had broken locks which I discovered that night.Completed disappointed and would recommend somewhere that was operating as a business and not just a side hustle.clearly they had my money a year earlier and where uninterested in hiring appropriate event staff ,or in customer service.

A few hours before my wedding, we found out we weren't having China, and I found out while eating that we had STYROFOAM PLATES. My bridal party did not have enough seats, and my mom's table was not reserved! Guests were waiting for drinks since the manager was also the bartender who was arguing with my mom about why there weren't enough seats. THEN, while I was chatting with guests, I noticed mom and the manager by the cake table.. come to find out, she was again arguing with her, telling her she said we were responsible for plating and cutting the cake! Which we would have never agreed to. I was also looking forward to a final dance with beautiful lights and mums under the gazebo in the back, and that too was not set up. If you use them, keep your contract and have them sign off to what they agreed to!!! Yes, I am happily married now, but they dropped the ball on the most important details !!! more than one time on the most important night of my life!!!

Writing this from the perspective of attending a wedding here…read more.. And from my vantage point, The Grand Ballroom is a lovely venue. A staff member was waiting for guests when they walked in to hand them tickets to validate parking so we could park in the nearby garage for free. The ballroom where the wedding was held had tall windows that let in a lot of light. It felt a bit historic, with large chandeliers, but also enough of an elegantly-appointed blank slate where you could do what you want with decorations and it wouldn't clash. After the ceremony, everyone went up a floor to the balcony that overlooks the ballroom for cocktail hour, while the ballroom was flipped for dinner. The servers were friendly with drinks and hors d'oeuvres, and the staff in the ballroom pulled out the tables, which had been pre-set and waiting on the side of the ballroom. While anyone could see them setting up from the balcony, this did not cause any loud noises or interruptions. And then we headed back down for dinner, which was a mix of chicken and steak, I believe. It was delicious. Overall this venue was perfect for this wedding of less than 100 people -- the setting for a beautiful night.
