The business is closed permanently, it has been for months. The owner did not close out on Google, Yelp, etc. even the website does not reflect the permanent closure. We had a private party at Jane's and the owner, Kelly, and her staff were amazing! Kelly accommodated all our needs and the service and food were wonderful! I had the house salad with chicken and it was delicious with house made ranch, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We can't wait to plan our next event there! Under new ownership and vastly cleaned up and redecorated (classier but still homey), I can only say great things. I was a little early so got a tour of the grounds and bar (fully stocked). I'd seen this place before but it was a bit of a mess so I never went in. MENU HAS CHANGED. I recommend calling as not all websites will be updated. Kelly, owner, was very attentive. Full staff, fast service and attention to detail (real, not bagged bacon pieces on my loaded tots and I watched her make the batter for my fried chicken sandwich). So much outdoor seating! So many tvs! Worth the hour drive from Cincinnati, Indiana and east Louisville especially given Big Bone Lick state park and Rabbit Hash are right there. read more

Found this place online and thought we'd try it..its unique and kitschy..there was no one else there when we were..inside the restaurant it was hot and a little uncomfortable for our taste..the decor is fun..the owner was really friendly,joking and cutting up..I ordered a hot dog with everything, my friend the Tuscan chicken..one other complaint. I've never heard of Jane Saddlebag until my friend mentioned a wine festival. Located near Big Bone Lick area of northern Kentucky. Jane's Saddlebag is a reconstructed historical structure. The meaning of "saddlebag" is a type of house with two rooms and a shared chimney often found in rural homes and farms. This heritage tourism destination offers 35 acres of historical structures, friendly farm animals, a restaurant with homemade food and desserts, a Wine Shop, a General Store and more! Janes is a fun unique little place off the beaten path. We have visited the wine festival the last three years which has always been really fun and something I look forward to. This year was a little disappointing there were only 12 wineries there the day we went and longer than normal line. It's $20 for admission and tasting tickets, which I think is more expensive than previous years. In the past there have been 30-40 wineries. I will not be back for this event unless there are more wineries in the future again. The property itself is unique, it's close to the river and has several farm animals and dogs running around. Has fun painted signs a stage for music and cabin to grab a sandwich. They have several other events throughout the year. This year they are having a bourbon festival. I know they also have events for families with children throughout the year. read more

Stopped here on a motorcycle ride today with some friends. The staff was extremely friendly. Before we got off the bikes a member was outside greeting us and welcoming us in. Inside the place was clean and cool and the rest of the staff was equally friendly. Had the baby back rib special of the day and the ribs were done well and the sauce was not bad. Overall, I would come back to try one of their burgers! It's worth the ride out. read more

Have watched this place grow and improve over the years. Unfortunately some things have NOT improved. Stopped in Sunday with motorcycle group, around 25 people in total. I rushed in to give the staff a heads up and ask them to through on some hamburgers to get a start. The older lady behind the counter grunted, " can't do anything until I make my Potato salad". A few minutes go by and probably 10 of my group standing at counter and no one taking orders. Might understand if she was by herself, 3 others working in the kitchen area! So 20 of use wait over 45 minutes to get a thawed out hamburger patty that is nearly burnt on a mushy thawed hamburger bun. Also got warm potato salad that was not good at all, so really not sure way you made so many customer wait for such poor food! May stop here in future for beer on a sunny day motorcycle ride, but will no longer be on my list to eat! Definitely would not take a group of any size here. was nearly two hours to get everyone feed (just hamburgers!!!) Was almost like they burnt one hamburger at a time to serve, just took way way too much time. Ridiculous! read more

I call Jane's "My Own Little Slice of Heaven on Earth." I moved to this area three years ago and was desperately looking for inexpensive activities to do with my young children, and decided to check Jane's out after seeing a sign - one of the best decisions I've ever made! When you visit Jane's, you'll feel like you're at a family reunion - one that you'd actually enjoy. ;) In a nutshell, there's live music much of the time, tons of open land, corn hole, a restaurant with amazingly delicious homemade food - imagine lounging in an adirondack chair, listening to music, sipping on a homemade wine slushy, while you see and hear your children having a blast in their newly remodeled playground area. It's the perfect atmosphere. But OH, the petting zoo. What makes it SO awesome is that they have a strict no-feeding policy, which allows the animals to be extremely docile because they're not expecting food from you. They're not aggressive at all! They have free-roaming goats, sheep, beautiful barn dogs, and a llama, Grace, so sweet and cuddly that she may as well be half-dog. They also have horses, a steer, and a pig. The petting zoo is my favorite part - you will truly feel like Snow White! The family and staff will make YOU feel like you're a part of the family, too. They are so kind and easy - they take GREAT pride in their work and the history behind it. I bring new friends as often as possible, as well as my family when they come to town to visit. I cannot put into words how grateful I am that Jane's Saddlebag exists, and my gratitude for making my kids and I feel like we are family. I only see it getting better!! I'm a faithful and loyal customer/friend for life. I HIGHLY recommend Jane's Saddlebag to anyone. There really IS something for everyone there!! read more

Went there on a family outing, meeting some friends, and we brought along two young kids. We were hardly out of the car when a Saddlbag team member walked up and greeted us. Throughout our stay, they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We spent a bit of time exploring their attractions - definitely nice. Our kids found a soccer ball laying around, which lead to a 20' unplanned family soccer match. Awesome. We then gout our bracelets to visit the petting zoo in their barn. Really nicely done. Goats, horses, a cuddly dog, a really friendly donkey, a cow and a pig - and we probably did not see everything. Our kids had a wonderful time. The only thing our little ones kept on asking for was whether they could feed the animals - but there was no provision for that. We then returned to the restaurant for lunch. Our daughter loved her grilled cheese - which was really grilled, and not just pan fried. The four adults all had the Woolly Mammoth burger, which was freshly grilled and very tasty. We especially liked the homemade "tater" salad. The menu is simple (basic staples like burgers, metts and some salads), but they do have daily specials (on the day we were there they offered a bean soup, which we didn't try). We will definitely come back, and maybe combine a lunch at this restaurant with a hike through the nearby Big Bone Lick park. read more

This weekend was my 2nd time here. Visited the 1st annual wine fest. Large area, hot weather, which was not their fault, lol. Here's what I would have done differently: 1. I would have put all crafters/vendors down the hill and the wineries at the top of the hill. Why? We came because we wanted to go to a WINE fest. Put your wineries up front so we can get started with the tastings right away. Mixing the two was frustrating to say, my husband. He's not interested in crafters and vendors. Yet he would have been thrilled to buy me a glass of wine and send me on my way, down the hill, to shop, while he smoozed with fellow wine makers. 2. My 2nd suggestion would be to put the doggies away. I'm assuming the two big dogs that were running around belonged to the owners. The thing of it is, I made sure to ask if I could bring my dogs and I was told, "yes, as long as they are on leashes." So I assume the owners KNEW theyre may be folks there with dogs. It was a little frustrating that while we were obeying the dog rules, there were two dogs, two WET dogs, running crazy. Not everyone is a dog lover so I guess my oppinion is to put the doggies away for huge events like this. 3. I would make the event go later than 6pm. We made our order was told we couldn't get tator tots because she didn't know if the fryer was still on. We ordered burgers then got ready to pay and was told they had no burgers. Like a mirage in the desert this place pops up out of nowhere. Located near Big Bone Lick State Park in Union Ky it's a novelty stop with a twist for the family and a fair place to wet your whistle. I had the cheeseburger severed with potato salad and a side of fresh fruit. My only drawback is there is no soda fountain with Americas great bottomless refills. A very unique place to come and spend the day!! The whole family went, we had lunch, great food, even better desserts. The triple layer cheese cake was one of the best I have ever had, prices were good. Kids had a blast for hours in the petting zoo while the rest of us had some wine from the wine shop and relaxed on the patio looking down at the water. The kids also enjoyed the kids play land and also got to take a hay ride. Not your typical restaurant, a lot of amenities to keep you busy for hours. We will be back!! read more

The first thing I like to talk about at Jane's is the fact that there is so much to enjoy. They have a large area for kids to run around and get some exercise, a playground for the smaller ones to swing and slide and play in the sandbox. There is a petting zoo which is great for kids of all ages and one of many "Kodak Moment" spots at Jane's. There are a bunch of old "sheds" fixed up to look like an old time general store, an old west jail and a bunch of other pioneer kinda themes which kids love and gives even more "Kodak Moments"!!! There is a small general store where you can get a souvenir or two, a nice little wine shop and a great restaurant which serves some mighty tasty burgers and boasts a great "Friday Night Steak Night". My favorite though, is the Sunday Open Mic and jam hosted by John Redell and featuring some great musicians and a good time is had by all from 3:00 'til 6:00 every Sunday from May thru Oct. It's definitely worth the drive to get a little out in the country to enjoy all there is to offer as well as some clean country air and ambiance!! Attended their kids day event today & restaurant was ill prepared for the crowd. Ordered lunch at wine shop & waited almost 1 hour & 45 minutes for our overpriced hotdogs & grilled cheeses. Asked for fruit instead of pretzels, too bad, ran out. And I think they charged me an additional $3 per fruit order!!!! Pack your own lunch & eat it in the car. No games or face painting either per their advertisement. Maybe next year Jane's! This year, not so good. read more
