We picked this location initially with the guest count being are only criteria, but we were almost immediately surprised by so much more. The view, the gorgeous interiors, and the rich history were all things that finally led us to choose this as our venue for our wedding. But, above all else, was the venue owner - Roger Swonger. He went above and beyond to make our day as special as it possibly could be, and with his help, our wedding day went absolutely perfect. With just one planning session, and a couple of tours, Roger was able to guide us through the perfect day. He communicated well with all of the vendors, was able to provide an amazing wait staff, and bartender, and even thought of the small details - placing some flowers on our small wedding cake, putting a pen by the guest book, etc. Most importantly to us, as a now husband and husband duo, was finding a venue that was accepting. This was Roger to a tee - not only did he treat us with kindness, he guided us towards other LGBTQ+ friendly vendors as well. With his support and guidance, we had a wedding that completely surpassed our exceptions of what a wedding could ever look like in an area like Kentucky. I don't think there is any universe where we could have had a better wedding, and this is all thanks to Roger, and all thanks to having our wedding ceremony at Wiedemann Hill Mansion.

Also loved that they had porch heaters and blankets so you could still enjoy the view and be warm. The place is perfect for a 60 person wedding and really not crowded at all.

I lived in Cincinnati for 4 years and I never even knew that the Carnegie Hall in Newport existed. I attended a friends wedding and they did both the ceremony and the reception inside the hall. The staff working here were super friendly and nice and very accommodating to everyone who was in attendance. The upstairs is where the wedding was at. The room was a little warm, but it was big enough to hold about 100 people. They did a very nice job with the set up of the chairs and the alter for the wedding. The sound system in the hall was great. For appetizer hour it was downstairs in the entry way. The area had two big rooms and a center room where the bar was set up. The food at the wedding was typical wedding food. It was good but not great. Overall I had a wonderful time at this wedding. I would for sure attend an event here or plan a wedding or function if I lived in town.

The food is excellent and they offer many different options. My issue has been with communication with the representatives and a missing dress. When we booked the venue we were told that we (bride's family) would receive the leftover food which we did not receive. It's very difficult when you know for a fact that there was a decent amount left. I had paid extra money to have all of our things packed up and loaded into my car. So I had hoped that the food was packed and loaded in my car, which it wasn't. Then I had left a dress there and called the venue the next day and was told it was found and would be sent to me. It's been 6 weeks and have never received the dress. When I emailed them I was "informed" that it was sent. I contacted them about 1-2 weeks later asking yet again, and was told it was sent and there's nothing they can do about it. Sadly, with what has transpired between the contact person, I am having a hard time believing that something being mailed from Cincinnati to Northern Kentucky would not have reached me a long time ago, even if it got returned to sender, at least they would have let me know. And lastly, I was contacted two days after the event and was told they "forgot" to add a tax onto my final bill which I had paid in full prior to the wedding. They proceeded to tell me since the food being boxed and sent home with me was not written in the contract, that it was basically my fault. I hated doing it, but I said since the tax wasn't written down, that I shouldn't have to pay that. I had gotten so aggravated and to this day, 6 weeks after the wedding, I still haven't received my dress, and plan on never getting it. I didn't complain when we ran out of appetizers for 200 people, especially since I didn't see many of the staff walking around with them. The bride and groom only got 2 of each appetizers and that was it. You would think with 600 "pieces" that there would be enough for people. Everyday up to the wedding was perfect, but with what has occurred since then has left me feeling aggravated.

I replied sorry doesn't fix anything go ahead and set it up.no go. Additionally the bridal party was for 12 they set up for 8 ,when pointed out simply brought more chairs to an already crowded table to ends,my girls brought chairs for their table.my guests reported the limited beer selection was warm as well as the wine.they did not reserve a table for myself and father as requested so we arrived from church with no place to sit.The catering service cut 2/3 of the cake and left so I look over to family cutting cake.I brought this to the managers attention who said they only cut part of the cake?! ( the top was not to be reserved and already cut.) The outdoor gazebo had zero decorations even though I brought it up the day before.the bathroom door had broken locks which I discovered that night.Completed disappointed and would recommend somewhere that was operating as a business and not just a side hustle.clearly they had my money a year earlier and where uninterested in hiring appropriate event staff ,or in customer service.

THEN, while I was chatting with guests, I noticed mom and the manager by the cake table.. come to find out, she was again arguing with her, telling her she said we were responsible for plating and cutting the cake! Which we would have never agreed to. I was also looking forward to a final dance with beautiful lights and mums under the gazebo in the back, and that too was not set up. If you use them, keep your contract and have them sign off to what they agreed to!!!
