    The Florentine

I've been wanting to check out the parlor since I saw it on instagram and it was even better than it looked. Went with the family and all 6 of us loved it. The pizzas are unique and we each had a different favorite slice. Service was great and they put two tables together for us. I love that they have a counter to sit at. The Parlor and The Roni are stand out pies for sure!!! If you're a lemon chicken person the Florentine is so different. You really can't go wrong here. Also we got the fries and they were great. Will definitely be back.

Grabbed a quick personal pizza here for lunch, and was pleasantly surprised. The thin crust and little char on the bottom was delightful. Did a pick up order which was ready in no time, the inside had plenty of seating if you choose to dine in.

Parlor is a nice pizza spot in Stratford. They have many Food Blogger fans and I decided to visit after a trip to nearby Two Roads Brewery. Parlor seems to specialize in creative individual-sized pizzas. Not that the pizzas are small, but Parlor is the type of place where everyone would order one pizza and share. I ordered creative pizzas like the BBQ chicken and Loaded Potato, but you could get more traditional pizzas as well. The crust had some New Haven char, but otherwise, the crust didn't remind me of New Haven. Maybe because the pizzas are individually sized. The outer crust had a different vibe. Almost pastry-ish with good chew. Otherwise, the crust was more crispy, but not overly so. Parlor's execution of the toppings was above average. But for me, neither pizza was in the top tier for places serving similar pizzas. Parlor was good and I would return if I was in the area. Four Stars

Amazing pizzas, especially the chicken with spinach and lemon... Wow! We also enjoyed the orange float and surprisingly terrific fried Oreo which was more like a donut... Fantastic!

We love The Parlor. For to go with some new friends tonight and they loved the pizza as much as we did. Perfect char on the bottom and such a great crust. Their sauce is fantastic. Tried a few new pies today and was impressed by all of them. One of the pies is fully vegan and my friends said it was also fantastic. They make a cashew cheese in house and it makes all the difference! You know we will be back!

The Parlor is a New Haven-style pizzeria that opened in Stratford, Connecticut in August 2020. It was founded by Mackenzie Carey. A lifelong resident of Stratford, Carey and a group of his friends dreamed of bringing a fresh take on the New Haven experience to the Stratford area. Once Jerry's Shakespeare Pizza closed down, Carey jumped at the chance to make the space his own. Unlike the traditional New Haven-style pizza options (or "Apizza" as it's called in the local New Haven-Italian dialect), the pizza pies at The Parlor have an 'artisanal' spin. Carey installed a brand new brick oven kit from Italy to cook his pies. The menu also offers vegan pizza options, which will add a whole new clientele that are unable to enjoy traditional pies. My family and I recently stopped at The Parlor for lunch. We previously tried their pizza last summer at the first Connecticut Pizza & Brew Fest and we were very impressed. Ever since then, we were looking forward to trying out their pizza at their brick & mortar location. The interior of the pizzeria was cozy and the staff were friendly and inviting. After looking over the menu we decided to order a few different pies and share them. We ordered the "Margherita" (San Marzano tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, basil, garlic, EVOO), the "Florentine" (white pie, lemon cream sauce, spinach, garlic, chicken, mozzarella), and the "Rebar" (onion, garlic, mozzarella, burrata, pepperoni, hot cherry pepper, prosciutto, truffle honey). They were all fantastic and that crust was so thin and crunchy! My personal favorite was the Florentine. A friend of ours highly recommended their vegan pies, so we also ordered the "Cherry Bomb" (garlic, hot cherry peppers, mushroom, house cashew mozzarella, plant-based mozzarella, hot agave). This pie was also very tasty and we never would have guessed that it was vegan. We washed everything down with some locally-produced Foxon Park White Birch Beer. For dessert, we couldn't say no to some delicious "Chocolate Covered Cheesecake Cannoli". We had a fantastic experience at The Parlor and look forward to returning!

Recently had the chance to check out the pies at Parlor. It was trivia night so had ours placed to go. My BF ordered his standard cheese pizza and I decided on pepperoni with truffle honey (if you haven't had honey on pepperoni pizza you are missing out!) After my first bite I exclaimed "Wow!". This pizza was so good and perfect. Plenty of toppings, crust and char spot on. Sooooo good and this place can certainly compete with the New Haven apizza heavy hitters. Can't wait to come back to try more pies!

Ordered delivery from here. We tried the Raptor and The Parlor pizzas. My brother said the Raptor was good but the crust was a bit overcooked. I had the Parlor pizza and it was delicious! Soppressata, mozzarella, onions, hot cherry peppers, and truffles honey. Such a tasty pizza!

I had the Botanist and a cheese pie today, everything was delicious. The sauce is flavorful and the crust is just right. I'm already craving more and will be back soon!

When we heard there was New Haven style pizza in Stratford, we had to come see what it was all about! I was impressed by the thin, light crust and the amount of variety on The Parlor's menu. Some of our personal favorites were The Florentine and The Buffalo Chicken. The Parlor really nailed the presentation on every pizza as well. Their salads were fresh, and the fried Oreos were great for dessert. I think it's great how many vegan and vegetarian options are on the menu too! A very casual place to come hang out and enjoy pizza. Wishing them continued success!

I don't normally bother with reviews, but I'm making an exception for La Vera. We've been coming…read morehere since before moving to North Stratford years ago, when it was still called "Capodicci's". Capodicci ran off to Switzerland to get married, but his partner John stayed and we're sure glad he did. Food is always FANTASTIC. The homemade, not frozen pre-made from a lasagna factory (like a lot of places: you'd be surprised), lasagna is the BEST. The customer service is top notch and Larry is the star of the show when it comes to a great experience. He is PHENOMENAL at fixing your order last minute when you make a colossal blunder (which I have a few times), and his recommendations have never let me down. Farti has wonderful phone manners and is in charge of cheese. Don't believe him if he promises to hook you up with beard oil ;  ) I'm still waiting and it's been 11 years. As Chief of Cheese, he takes his grating responsibilities very seriously (parmesan is grated fresh every morning, and kept refrigerated ). He's pretty good about letting you use more than you should too. John the owner is a pleasure to talk to and prides himself on quality food. Gary always delivers a piping hot, fresh from the oven pizza, and couldn't be more courteous and timely. All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend La Vera. Forgot to mention the foccacia bread sandwiches. I actually wrote home about them, and surprisingly, mom wrote back for a change. She asked how they were and I told her "The Best, Mama, THE BEST!". They really are though. Standouts are the #4 Chicken cutlet, bacon, roasted peppers, red onion and herb mayo, #9 Roast beef, provolone, fried onion and mayo and #8 Pastrami, Swiss, fried onion and Dijon. #10 Steak and Cheese w/ mushrooms, onions and mayo. Finally, ALL their pizza is the outstanding and if you get one with the works, you get THE WORKS. They're NOT stingy with toppings like a lot of places who drop a few bacon crumbs and a pepperoni piece on a pie and claim it qualifies as a "meat lovers". We get pizza every Friday, and almost always get it from here. End of story, go get yourself a pie from La Vera tonight!

I was told 18 for one of the stuffed breads and 25 for the stuffed bread with vegetables. I have ordered these multiple times and was told 18 for each. I asked why 25 and was told because gas went up. This place has repeatedly given multiple different pricing on the same things ordered The same. Stuffed breads with one meat I paid between 13 and 18 dollars. The food is ok but inconsistent pricing and saying that 25. For a 3 simple vegetable stuffed bread is outrageous. I'm done with them!

They also didn't taste fresh, not crispy, just kind of stale & reheated. Def not what you expect when you're craving good wings(especially for the price I paid 8 "half" wings=$15). As for the pizza, I ordered a small pie thinking it would be a decent size to share or at least have leftovers but it was more like a personal pan pizza. That's how small it was. If you're really hungry, you'll def want to size up. The portion didn't match what I'd expect for a "small" at a typical pizza spot. The price was also high for personal pizza as well(about $13). I will say, the wings are usually good but just not today. The pizza itself tasted good, even though it could've used more cheese. They actually added sauce this time, which I appreciated because it's usually a bit dry. It was a bit oily as well. Overall, I gave it 2 stars. The flavor of the pizza saved it, but the wing quality & portion sizes were disappointing on this visit. My bf is the 1 who always chooses to eat here. I'm not a big fan. The place inside is a bit small but there's a couple of tables if you want to dine in. The cashier who took care of me was a little snotty. Could have been more nice especially w/ all the competition out there. Honestly, idk how this place stays afloat & so many ppl. like it.

My chicken parm grinder was soggy, still not sure how even the outside of the bread ended up wet. The garlic bread used to have real chunks of garlic, but today I didn't find a single piece. The cheese felt harder than usual too. Honestly, I was disappointed. I won't be ordering this again.
