We had the best time last night at The Painters Lounge! "We" were 3 couples who had heard about this place and wanted to see what the Friday night painting/wine class was all about. We were not disappointed! Dina and her assistant made sure we were taken care of with our drink orders, and then the class began. We all had a fun time trying to create our own masterpieces, and everyone walked away with an awesome canvas painting that we were proud of! Dina herself is extremely friendly and accommodating. This place is amazing. First off, it's located in the heart of Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix. Free parking! The inside of this place is old brick and has a historic feel. The tables are really nice wood and metal and the whole place just feels like you're in an art gallery. The sound system is legit!! Rock out to great music. Yesterday was our 2nd visit to The Painters Lounge, and we had an amazing time! They are located downtown Phoenix, on Roosevelt, with plenty of free parking in the back. Whether you are picking up a paintbrush for the first time since elementary school like myself, or a seasoned veteran painter, you are going to have a great time. Bring a bottle of wine and some snacks if you like. (if you forget to bring wine, you can buy a bottle next door at Pita Jungle and take it out, they only require you uncork it inside Pita Jungle before you leave). The owner and teachers are amazing! You can get as little or as much help as you want. Check their calendar for the different events throughout each month, such as "paint your pet", "modern cactus", "desert view" and more. On open session days, you can paint whatever you like! You can also reserve the entire studio for team building events, birthday parties, etc. We are already looking forward to our next visit. read more

Soooo worth it!! We tried a painting place like this here in Tucson and it was a disaster. And I say that lightly!! We had the opportunity to meet Dina at an offsite class offering at Tapatio Cliffs resort in Phoenix. Even though we were a "late entry" Dina was more than accommodating to get our 12yr old daughter in the class. My wife and I checked in on our daughter from time to time just to see her progress and we continually saw Dina taking time to help and teach our daughter on her cactus painting. A group within my company did a private event at the Painters Lounge. Dina was very patient with our group as we had not decided what to paint ahead of time and had a hard time narrowing down our choices. We even changed the painting last minute and Dina was very accommodating. This was a fun team building activity because you are painting but it's a free flowing environment where you can talk and get up and walk around, music playing in the background and next instructions are briefly given at the conclusion of the previous step. Dina was very kind to repeat herself multiple times as it's tough to get everyone's attention in a large group. I planned this event for my group based on the location. This studio is right in downtown Phoenix, and centrally located if you have people coming from the east or west valley. Parking is easy because there is a garage across the street. You can bring food and wine. I will definitely be going back, they offer sessions on Friday and Saturday nights and you don't need to be in a group, however the paintings are pre-selected. The Painters Lounge is conveniently located in downtown Phoenix. The Staff here is friendly and welcoming, we were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. We are given all supplies such as paint, canvas, apron, paint brushes, etc. We brought our own wine and they provided the cups. I found the Painter's Lounge while searching for a paint and sip venue that would work for a last minute(ish) bachelorette party. As I live out of state and my friend is a recent transplant to the Phoenix region, I had an additional challenge of trying to make this happen without seeing anything in person. Dina (the owner who is one of the instructors) made the whole process a breeze. I was able to get a party on the books, put down my deposit, and select the piece of art our group would be doing within a day of contacting her. My friend and I had done a paint and sip evening before, and she was super excited about doing it again. Sometimes, you do an activity once and it's amazing, but the second time leaves you wanting more. Not the case here! Our group had a blast, and it was a great way to spend a Thursday evening getting to know each other, as many of us had not met before. We ended up having a mix of women and men, friends and family of the couple, and even a few coworkers. That could be a risky group of people to mix, but not when you put a paintbrush in one hand and a drink in the other! Several of us brought wine to share (they don't serve alcohol, it is BYOB) and we ordered some appetizers/snacks from Pita Jungle next door. Dina had mentioned we could bring in decorations, but we chose not to, and honestly none were needed. It was a great space without any additional decor. My friend could not have been any happier about how the party turned out, and she's already made plans to go back with some new friends. Dina is a fantastic instructor and her assistants are always ready to help with changing the paint water, advice on trouble areas on your canvas, and making sure everyone has everything they need. it's perfect event for couples, girls night, families, everyone. Had a similar experience to that of Lexi K. I felt the instructor spoke down to my group. I decided to go here with friends because of the overwhelming positive reviews and "family" atmosphere this place promotes online. I wish I would have heeded Lexi's warning and stayed far away! The place is overpriced for what you get; customer service is poor and staff seems overbearing and stingy; and the overall vibe is less than fun. I'd have more fun watching paint dry on a wall (at least I wouldn't have to worry about being scolded for needing a little extra paint)... He did not explain his techniques very well and his painting did not look as similar to the example picture as I had hoped. He needed to be more clear and to explain his techniques more in detail. After that, I was looking for a place to host my large Bachelorette Party on a Thursday night.
