Tried to return an unopened and untinted gallon of white deck stain and was told I couldn't return it even for a credit. This stuff not tinted is like water and we are using for our deck trim. This is after spending over $2000 with this store in the last couple years. Wow! Also after that was going to buy two gallons of ext paint and was not even given the 30% discount that I received on the same project two or three weeks ago. This customer will investigate other paint stores in the future. Bad look on Sherwin Williams.

I am so disappointed in how I was treated at this store. My family has bought paint from them for…read moreyears. So, naturally when I needed paint for my whole house being built- I took my blueprints and headed to the store. I made sure to let them know that I needed help calculating what I needed. Jim and I spent two hours with the blueprints and I had him check the amounts twice because it sounded like a lot to me. He assured me it was correct. He sold me 5 gallons of primer and 21 gallons of paint for a 1300 square foot home. We ran out of primer halfway through and had to drive an hour back to get more. We have almost 8 whole gallons of paint leftover. We called twice asking if we could return some paint for store credit. He basically told my husband that I was a liar and didn't show him the blueprints and that I told him that I didn't plan to prime the whole space. I am meticulous about my decisions. I explained fully well my plans and trusted that an older gentleman could help me calculate seeing as he'd worked there for a while. We are out about $400 in paint we can now trash and absolutely do not appreciate this man trying to take advantage of a woman just to get more money and sell more paint. So very disappointed that a business would be ran this way.

The crew he hired to do my job were inexperienced and the work performed by them is HORRIBLE! I asked the owner of the paint store where Danny purchased the stain for my house to come take a look at the finished job. Perfect example of how customer service should be and how others should strive to replicate Value - tremendous considering the work and time saved when the correct products are used. I should move from Lexington to Winchester so I can live where stores offer this kind of value and service. The store is conveniently located on Main Street but seemed to have more stuff than the Lowe's superstore near me (where their inventory is a hopelessly disorganized mess). D&S Hardware is well stocked in the way hardware stores were before the big box retailers took over. I love D&S Hardware... not just the large variety of merchandise, friendly and knowledgeable staff and great value. I love the customer oriented attitude they convey and the entire experience of shopping there.
