Our 6-year-old fur baby has been beating spinal cancer for over 3 years now. He's been seeing Dr…read more Smallwood for almost 3 years for acupuncture. She always keeps herself updated on Beemo's status between his different health providers - neurologist, oncologist, etc. She is always in high demand so we make sure to always book out his appointments in advance. He loves going to see her and we can't recommend Dr. Smallwood and her staff enough! Edit - I see a reviewer angry about vaccines. In refute of their claim, Dr. Smallwood in our case has had no issues treating Beemo who has been unvaccinated since his diagnosis in early 2022 as directed by his oncologist. She coordinates with all his providers and we've never experienced a single challenge with her.

Dr. Smallwood and staff exceeded my expectations. When I…read moremade the appointment, they were booking 8 weeks out. And the initial consultation fee seemed high to me. This was the 2nd Alternative/ Specialty Veterinarian I had seen for my pets partially torn Achilles tendon. We are going the conservative route and not doing surgery for our 13 1/2 year old Labrador Retriever. After meeting Dr. Smallwood for the first time, it was obvious why she was so in demand. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly cares about improving the quality of life for her patients. We have talked on the phone several times and I had a follow appointment with up with her. She has never rushed me. She covers all bases and honestly answers as many questions as you may have! She even worked us in (last minute) before she left for vacation. I am so excited to be working with her and her staff. I finally feel like my pet is in good hands. I have also had the pleasure of working with Reni, Rehab Specialists, to get my pet fitted for a leg brace. Reni was very in thorough in explaining all details and following up with me. If you are uncertain about making an appointment, just do it! You will not be sorry.

After months of searching for the right kind of veterinary care for my senior "rescue" pup Rocky, I…read morefinally found what we needed at HEAL Veterinary Hospital and it was absolutely worth the effort and wait! As context, Rocky has been through a lot over the past year (ACL injury, Hypothyroidism flare ups, Allergy issues, Skin rash, Eye surgery, Ear infections, Tracheal collapse). In spite of all this, Rocky has remained a happy, sweet fur baby that is a "love magnet" wherever he goes :-). But, after months of vet visits, pokes, and prodding...we were both exhausted and needed a different path. My primary vet and I aligned that it was time to bring in specialty expertise and I'm so glad we did. From the moment we arrived at HEAL, I could tell this experience would be different. The entire staff is extremely kind and supportive, and Dr. Martinson is truly a gem--warm, intuitive, and incredibly thorough. She took the time to fully understand Rocky's health journey, and while a prior vet even suggested a wheelchair...I know my boy and he isn't there yet. Yes, he's aging, but it's not time for wheelchairs, heavy meds, or giving up. Dr. Martinson listened and agreed. Together we aligned on a holistic care plan that prioritizes Rocky's quality of life. No extreme interventions. Just thoughtful, expert care designed around what's best for him. Yes, the initial visit takes a lot of time, the "pre-booking" Questionnaire is extensive, and the services aren't cheap. But for me and Rocky, it was time and money well spent. This was the most detailed pet evaluation I've ever experienced and after months of stress, I finally saw Rocky relax. HEAL's Fear Free approach definitely works and I'm looking forward to a great partnership with Dr. Martinson and the entire team. And, more importantly, giving Rocky a chance to feel like himself again. If you're looking for thoughtful, compassionate, and expert-level care, I highly recommend HEAL. Wishing all our furry friends comfort and care. Happy Healing!

Dr. Gaines is the same doc that gets to evaluate my dog, Pepper's health every time and really takes the time to educate you on all the options that he knows including holistic approaches that a common vet won't even mention. The assistant, Allie was very personable, genuine and really took the time to help me evaluate my decisions with absolutely no pressure. Everyone here treats you like a real human being with a love for animals, which is what every vet should be. If I could give this place 10 stars I would because they absolutely deserve it.
