Cocktail was still on the bar so another server grabbed it for us as it was getting warm. Our server was busy taking care of other customers and entering their orders so we did have to wait a while to place ours. We ordered the kurobuta burger, whiskey burger, both with regular fries. Gardein wings in BBQ sauce and a Margarita Pizza. Once the food arrived we enjoyed it very much. The burgers were juicy and delicious. Pizza was great. My daughter loves the wings and the sauce. Bathrooms are dimly lit but clean. Overall except for the wait to order and getting the cocktail it was a good experience. My husband said he would be back for the kurobuta burger

Moving from Texas in Oklahoma we thought we knew what wings were. Bullwinkle's smoked wings are some of the best we've ever had. And the Buffalo chicken pizza rolls are a must order every time we go in. They have a really good trivia night. They do with a local company as well. Great staff great food cold beer. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon at 12:00 PM--perhaps a bit early for live music or games. Nonetheless, we found a full bar, a classic American menu, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. Located on Woodruff Rd in the Five Forks area, Bullwinkle's is situated directly across from Publix and behind a strip center, literally occupying the ground floor of a Great Spaces Storage building. Parking here is plentiful. The decor reflects the typical vibe of a sports bar/restaurant, with TVs mounted throughout, all tuned into a variety of sports. During our visit, college football, golf, soccer, and baseball were all on display, with the Manchester vs. Chelsea soccer match attracting a notable crowd. While the restaurant is one large space, its layout allows guests to find tables or seating areas that offer a sense of privacy. The menu includes all the expected favorites: pizza, calzones, wings, burgers, and a diverse selection of other items. The pizza is particularly popular, and they boast an extensive craft beer list. Our server was busy but attentive, and the food was quite good--though I would suggest cooking the wings a bit longer for optimal flavor. Although Bullwinkle's is a little off the beaten path, it's definitely worth a visit!

Late Saturday night, after symphony at Peace center when not many eating places in the vicinity…read morewere open, we decided to go to Carolina Ale. Ambiance lively with the football cheering crowd on the bar. We sat near the window. If the weather is nice (it was yesterday) that is the perfect spot where, you look to your left and screens will entertain you, look to your right and Main Street at night will help you tune out the chatter at the bar! Service was fast, efficient and responsive. We were intrigued by their mocktails and ordered blueberry and strawberry versions. I was partial to the blueberry one but strawberry was equally easy on the palette. Well priced, well crafted drinks which accompanied the food to the last morsel. We ordered beer battered grouper tacos and salmon with broccoli and pilaf. Again, prices very middle of the road and reasonable, tacos were perfect, salmon served hot and cooked just the right amount. The salmon entree would have been elevated with a side of tomato cucumber salad or a lemon wedge even (I did not think of it then, I should have asked for it) We thought for a minute if we wanted to try their 'beyond burger' substitution option on the burger menu, but were put off by a three-ish dollar surcharge. Definitely the place to keep in mind for a late night/downtown dinner option. It would help if there are some more vegetarian options

I would just wish the portion of vegetables was better

We sat outside, which was clean, comfortable, and a great spot to hang out before an event. Service was fantastic. David, our server, was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable, and really helped elevate the experience. For food, we started with the wings (dry rub and Jamaican jerk). The flavors were decent, but the wings themselves were rubbery and a bit underwhelming, especially considering the price point. One standout though... the ranch dressing. Easily some of the best I've had. The breakfast tacos were good overall, and the chimichurri was fresh and flavorful. I think adding a creamy component would have taken them up another level. The sweet potato fries were fantastic. The chicken and biscuit was decent. The Nashville-style chicken had good flavor, but the tenders were on the smaller side, making the portion feel a bit lacking. The biscuit itself was solid. The tallow fries were also well done, and the Lefty's sauce was a nice addition. One unique touch at the end. You're given the option to send a postcard, and they handle the postage and mailing for you. A really fun and memorable detail. Overall, a good spot with great service and atmosphere, though some of the food execution and portion sizes could be improved.

It was close there. We returned to The Flat in mid-July, not…read morehaving eaten here since March. March brought us the worst Reuben sandwich we have ever had. It was a special of the month, but it was fat laden and inedible. Our conclusion was that the regular kitchen crew might have been on spring break, but it took several months for me to convince my wife (and mother-in-law) to return on a recent, rainy Saturday at lunch. One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, so one bad meal after many great ones follows suit. I will say that sometimes there is inconsistency's in the dishes. I've had the pulled pork poutine when it was excellent with crisp fries and fluffy interior with that gravy and I've had it where it was a soupy and limp mess. But most times, the food is good. And that's the draw, it's a scratch kitchen. But it's also a bar. A sports bar. A great craft beer bar. But it comes with bar decor, and it sounds like a bar. It can be noisy. It can be empty or crowded. Depends. But the wait staff is usually hustling to cover the floor and in busy times the bartender or kitchen helps run food, so you just have to look at the whole thing and love it as a great neighborhood bar. We will come back, our burgers were excellent and the wings are consistently good. I think they might work on an in between buffalo sauce, the medium is not hot enough and the hot (or hottest) is so hot as to drown flavor. But that's just a nit to pick. I'm glad that we returned and had a good experience.

Been here twice so far, both times on a Friday evening and both times we had reservations…read more First time I ordered the fried pickles and the chicken club sandwich. The sandwich, overall, had an ok flavor. Nothing to get excited about. And I know it was on a Friday and they were busy, but I believe my food had been sitting for a bit before it was brought out because the bread wasn't soggy, but it was damp like the sandwich juices has been absorbed. And the pickles weren't much better. You could tell they were fried pickles but really lacked flavor. And the fried were like eating mashed potato strips. No outer coating like they were sliced and baked. Second time was the lemon pepper wings. They were basic chicken wings. There was some lemon pepper seasoning, but it was still very bland. They didn't make the glands explode. The pretzel bites (so far) has been the best item I've had there yet. Cooked well and the cheese dip did have a great flavor. I'll go back again just to make sure maybe I didn't go on two bad nights.
