A nice, simple, standard wee greasey spoon that will sort you right out for a good breakfast whenever you need something to line the stomach after a night out or to fill you up before you hit the town for a bit shopping. This place is best known as a bit of a hangover cure den for students who have been out the night before but don't let that put you off. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is tasty, filling and not over priced. You go for the breakfast all day, which I always love because I love a fry up. You can also get a bottomless tea which allows you to take your time and fill up on brews and read the paper while you lament the evening before. That being said, it is never all that busy, loud or intrusive so don't be put off if you weren't on the tiles the night before and fancy a bit of breakfast.

Perhaps, as all of my fellow yelpers have made reference to, this cafe is best served with a whopping great hangover. I have been here just the once and as a very rare treat, I did not have a hangover, nor did I have any alcohol the night before. The decor is dark, almost creepy. We got ourselves a little booth and the lady took our order very quickly. Worryingly, the food was brought out to us almost as quickly as it was ordered, which left me thinking that perhaps my sandwich was not as freshly made as I would have wanted. Or perhaps they had an amazingly disciplined team that worked quickly and efficiently... I did not, and probably never will try the £1 fry, for the sake that it is £1. It could just be a great offer, or it could be that the food is so unhealthy that you would be quicker just literally eating the money instead. Overall it was ok, but I can't see what sets this apart from pub food. For me, it is lost somewhere between restaurant and cafe, and instead of having the best of both worlds, has almost inherited the worst elements of both. Mediocre

    99p fry...yes please

99p fry... yes please and thankyou very much!!!!! In my student days a used to go here every thursday morning for a fry with friends. For 99p you would get one of everything, such a good deal!! I recall paying more for the coffee than the food!!! Now there is not many places that you can say that about. The service is sometimes slow as there is usually just one or two people working at any one time, the seating is mostly wooden church type pews hence not the most comfortable. But this place is not without its charms and nostalgia. Definitely a favorite spot for locals and students, I'm not sure if tourist would really see its appeal. They do have a good amount of choice on the menu from sandwiches to lasagna and what not. If there was an ulster fry map 'The other place' should definitely be on it !!!

If you like a good big breakfast and bottomless cups of tea and coffee then The Other Place really is the place fr you! This is the place to go for the ultimate cure!(hangover) and they do the greatest breakfasts! The lads always go for the big super fry which frankly I couldn't manage in just one sitting! And a t the bargain price of a fiver you really cant go wrong! Their lunches are really great too and they always have on daily specials which are great value and really fill a hole. The place has such a warm homely feel and its really clean- not your average 'greasy' spoon then! So you don't smell like chips all day!

When we walked in, we were completely in awe of the whole décor / design of the place as it was like walking into an American diner in the 60's. I was waiting on Marty McFly walking past to be honest. Customer service was great! The best I have received in such a long time. The waiting staff were also great with kids. There is a jukebox at each booth which cost's 20p per song but all the money goes to charity which I think is great, and it has all the greats you would expect hearing in a joint like this, Elvis, The beach boys, Chuck Berry etc.... The food was pretty good, and this is the only reason it did not get a 5 star from me, but it's not unique, the chips, burger and sides are most likely bought into the store in bulk and it's food you can get at Frankie and Bennys / TGI's it's not individually owned if you were to compare to somewhere like the Hotplate. But in saying that it was pretty tasty, portion sizes were good and I would definitely be 'back in the future' if I am up at Boucher Road and the stomach starts talking to me! P.S you have to get a milkshake they are pretty Awesome!

It's pretty hidden in the alley and not going to lie...coming to a new city, let alone a new country by myself was a bit intimidating, but I found it just in time for my reservation. I absolutely loved my first Michelin Star restaurant experience. I was born in Belfast, and have never been back since I was born, so I enjoyed every opportunity to tell a server. The staff was so friendly and described every dish. I ordered the Seasonal Tasting MenuEach dish was excellent. My favorite was probably the duck and the savory mousse pastries. Food in order of serving: 1. Sourdough Guinness bread with vanilla butter and olive oil 2. Olive sponge crab and apple, chicken and caramel with some type of mousse 3. Scallops, cucumber frothy brown butter 4. Bluefin tuna tartare with avocado and heirloom tomato 5. Halibut with crispy chicken skin 6. Duck 7. Sorbet and then....my phone died before I could write down the other yummy dishes I ate! The ambience was dark, romantic, and vibey. The space itself has a very long and interesting history, just over 40 seats have been cramped into that space. A couple tables have small glass walls to separate them and squeeze in more diners. And it's pretty loud. So loud, I can barely hear the sommelier describe her wines. There may have been music playing... but who can hear? There seems to be an attempt to elevate the bartender over the sommelier, with the menu encouraging the guests to try specialty cocktails instead of selecting whole bottles of wine. And the bartender's constant ice shaker only adds to the noise. The service is very relaxed, with servers in t-shirts and jeans, sneakers, paper napkins. And the servers seemed a bit inattentive, watching the chefs through the pass, not paying attention to guests' needs. Oh, and the server even wrote "thank you" on the printed bill... How kind. Excellent Flair. Pure Chotchkie's. For the food, I'll return. 2025 04 16. M1. 235.

One of only a few in Ireland ER's is already proving to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road. Yesterday when I paid a visit it was absolutely jam packed. But the pin striped, attentive staff managed to deal with the hoards of burger lover admirably. The whole restaurant follows the USA diner theme, red tiles, bold brash posters with American slogans and red leather booths. Right down to even the tiniest details this place is perfect - they have mini duke boxes (50's style) where you can pay 20p for your choice of song. Right on to the important bit, the food. The menu is full of tempting delights but I went for the Smokestack burger upon a recommendation. I have to say I was not disappointed! The Burger bun was soft and fluffy, the burger was meaty and the extras combination were sublime. The best part of the burger was definitely the 'secret' sauce - sort of like a vinegary mayo. I'm underselling it with that description. Burgers will set you back £6.45 but they are not small and you certainly won't be hungry after eating them. I loved Eddie Rocket's - the only tiny thing I would mention is that it took a while for us to get our food which made us rush eating it. I will put this down to how busy it was. The place certainly isn't understaffed. Top marks from me - there's so much on the menu to sample that I will have to make a trip back soon!
