Looking for an establishment with an all day breakfast offer on Saturday afternoon, I happened upon The Teapot at the Shaftesbury Square end of the Dublin Road
This whole area has suffered in recent years since its Golden Mile heyday and now all the roads running into the Square are sadly run down, scruffy and in real need of some Cathedral-Quarter regeneration
The Teapot has the requisite fry available so I ordered and was fairly promptly served with one of the best-presented frys I've ever had featuring split char-grilled sausages and sprinkling of chives.
It all looked a bit pale and under-cooked but tasted fine. And at £6 for a Large including a glass of juice, not bad value.
With only one other diner present the atmosphere felt a bit oppressive - having all 3 members of staff watch while I ate was a little disconcerting.
Nonetheless I couldn't fault the food, value and cleanliness. If you prefer your fry hipster or Rock n Roll it might be better to look elsewhere read more
