Zero stars if I could. Extremely poor first impression. Had an appointment for 2:30 and had to arrive by 2:15. I was there as requested and checked in by 2:15. At 3:15 the office made an announcement the Dr Boatright was running an hour behind which was an understatement. At 3:45 I had still not been called. I cancelled my appointment and will not be rescheduling with this doctor. This office charges the patient $25 if you cancel under 24 hours before the appointment. Maybe they also need to reimburse patients $25 when they can not uphold their appointment times since we have to waste time and take off work to see them. I for one will not be returning to this office at Orthopedic Group in Mobile, Alabama. And I definitely will not even consider scheduling another appointment with Dr Jeffrey Boatright. Fell off a ladder a few years back. Laid on couch for a week, didn't get any better. Went to see Doctor Park. First appointment wenf good, he sent me for MRI's. Follow up appointment to get the results of MRI's and Doctor cancelled appointment twice. Seems like his airplane is more important. I get it however I'm the one in pain. Finally get an appointment (in which he kept) only to have him tell me that i have a ruptured disc and two herniated discs. I'm a foot doctor and not a back doctor. I asked for a back doctor, and I still haven't heard from them. Be cautious, you may think they care but, it's actually a poorly run business. read more

Front desk and support staff is a nightmare. My daughter broke her arm, our insurance unfortunately sent us here. When I called to make an appointment the staff member couldn't get her in until Friday (broke her arm Monday night). She said we had to wait for a "new patient" appointment. I said well she has a broken arm and is in a lot of pain so is that really a new patient. To which the staff member yelled into the phone, "It doesn't matter I have five days to fit her in." Finally got someone else on the phone, they made her an appointment for the next day and when we showed up it had been cancelled. I called the office manager (there is no office manager at the Fairhope location) and the girl at the front desk yelled at me and said, "I don't work here." So, what are you doing here? Dr Handwerger and his staff are so helpful, caring, and efficient! We were there bc my 6 yr old broke her arm. We were called before I even finished filling out the paperwork. There was zero wait for x-rays either. Dr Handwerger was great explaining the break and had a good sense of humor. read more

Dr. Spain is incompetent. He attempted to drain fluid off my right knee, he hit a nerve and a blood vessel/vein, and caused tremendous pain, swelling and my entire knee area turning a dark purple. he has refused to apologize for this medical mistake, that resulted from his own carelessness and recklessness. I followed up twice, both times a week apart, for him to see what he had done to me, and now he has the audacity to bill me for these follow ups visits that resulted from the BODILY HARM HE CAUSED. now he has turned the bill over to a collection agency and is attempting to ruin my perfect credit rating. This is my first time here on a workmen's comp to my right knee Dr. Russell Goode is the Doctor that was referred to me by the company because he is the one another worker has seen and I can say it was a good experience. This location was his first available time but I hope to be seen from now on at the Airport Blvd location because it is closer to my house. Took my 91 year old cousin to see Dr. William Park as referred by the primary care doctor for a shoulder injury. Upon arrival Dr. Parks scolded him for not knowing he was a foot and ankle doctor and not a Shoulder specialist. What a terrible experience!! No hello how are you or anything. He was very rude, condescending, sarcastic and even raised his voice at my 91 year old cousin on a walker! He said there was nothing he could do except surgery, refused to even do an mri. Let's make this clear, this guy is not only unprofessional, he is a total jerk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't he even think once that this man was in pain, suffering and the strength it took for him there on time for the appointment? I will not go to this place ever again. I went in for shoulder surgery with a Dr. Kidder, supposedly a sports injury doctor. I had the surgery did everything I was suppose to for after care. Six months out from surgery and I still had some pain in the shoulder which gotten progressively worse over several months. At times it is unbearable. What's worse I did not authorize these people to discuss my after surgery with the person who brought me there. This person is elderly so not only did they discuss the surgery with them the results did not get conveyed to me. I was unaware what this doctor did till I got my insurance papers with the doctors billing. I an totally disabled and get a disability check. I have been making monthly payments every month without fail, yes maybe it's taking time to pay them but at least I am paying. I check my mail today and they have sent my account to collections. I called this group and talked to them and they don't know why my account was sent to collections. I am annoyed. The other point I will make is if you have surgery at this place you will get a bill for everything. I got a bill for anesthesia, a bill for the assisting friggin nurse, a bill from the surgery clinic, and a bill from the doctor who did the surgery. They have a racket going with this billing to milk the insurance company for every dime they can get plus what they will bill you for. I will never use these yahoo's again. Since having this surgery people ask where it was done, and then they tell me their story, or a relatives story. You can also look at employee reviews, most of them think the place is a terrible place to work. read more

Dr. Spain, of the Orthopaedic Group, does Stem Cell injections for arthritic joints. He did my knees about 4 weeks ago. It has been a very remarkable improvement to this point. The full benefit of the injections can take 6 or more months to occur. They are supposed to last 3 to 5 years. So that is yet to be determined. Dr. Spain was very knowledgeable and explained the procedure very clearly. He was very professional, and i believe he would not recommend it for a person that he didn't feel it would do some good.
