Stopped here for breakfast and it did not disappoint. I ordered the "side" of biscuits and gravy. Wow! Lots of gravy (I've been other places where it's just a drizzle). My mom had the chocolate waffle with bananas. The waffle was huge! Would definitely recommend Steve's for breakfast. read more

This place is super busy, but worth the wait. They have tables and booths, as well as bar seating. The service was excellent. They have coffee specials, and our server brought me a cup from a fresh pot of "Sticky Bun" flavored coffee. It was great! The love cakes (their version of pancakes) are HUGE! I got mine as gluten-free with pecans and bananas - simply divine!! The chicken sausage frittata was good. They give up so much food, you have to leave with a doggy bag. Food was heaven! We all got something different and shared, it was one of the most healthy and delicious diners I have ever eaten in. It's an institution in Greater Rochester, NY. My family comes here at least twice a month and they still haven't worked through have the menu. Get there before 9:30am or you will be waiting a while. Stick around it is worth it. read more

My friend and I were on our way to Wegmans and realized that going to the grocery store hungry would be dangerous for our wallets! I Googled restaurants near us and saw Steve's, and I'm a sucker for a diner! The atmosphere is amazing, the service is top notch across the board, and the food is INCREDIBLE! I had such a hard time choosing what I wanted because everything sounded so tasty. I will be returning (a lot) to try more! I ended up choosing The Dumpster and it was incredible! My friend had the steak and eggs breakfast sandwich. We were both so full and happy, and the bill doesn't break the bank! I can't recommend this place enough! Can't wait to go back for baklava pancakes! Also, they offer vegan waffles! My vegan friend usually can't go to breakfast with us because there's never vegan options. Continues to be a great breakfast spot! It was a 20 minute wait at 11am on a Saturday and there is limited waiting space incident, so they will gladly phone you while you wait in your car. Had a great breakfast here with my two young kids. Our waitress, Briona, was probably one of the best I've ever had. She knows exactly what a parent needs at a restaurant with young kids. The food was delicious; we got two ginormous pancakes and a the homemade corned beef hash. The kids left saying this was the best breakfast they've ever had. read more

So happy Steve's has made it to Chili! Their food is just delicious and they have a whole page of eggs Benedict's and a whole page of different love cakes (their pancakes). The fact that they call their pancakes love cakes should clue you in on their awesomeness :D I would say the chili location is living up to the Steve's diner name. Service was great, food was great, atmosphere was pleasing. Just note, since Steve's is epic it is almost always super crowded. There is often a line and the tables are all packed. Not a sleepy diner by any means. I do wish they would extend their hours until 3pm. They are only open from 7-2 M-Sun. Steve if you're reading this please extend your hours until 3. My fiancé and I came here for a little lunch anniversary celebration. We wanted to do something low key and heard the food here was good. We were able to be seated right away outside on a Tuesday afternoon but the inside was fairly packed. Our server came out, took our drink order and tried to quickly run off. We were really hungry so I stopped her and said we were also ready to order. She stated that she'd take our order after she brought out our drinks (it was just 2 Pepsis). Seemed a little rude but ok. Our turkey clubs took another 20 mins to come out, so a little bit slower for a diner but they were very good! The sandwiches don't come with fries (only chips, mac salad or veggie sticks) those are an additional cost. Also, I thought it was odd they used shredded cheddar cheese instead of slices? For two turkey clubs with fries and Pepsis it was $40. A little steep for diner food in my opinion but everything was very good. I would come back to try the breakfasts foods. read more

Finally got the chance to try out Original Steve's for Saturday breakfast- and let me tell you it was worth it! The Chili location is small and cozy. The staff are very personable and have great relationships with the patrons (like an old school diner)! It showed as "a little busy" on Google at 10AM on a Saturday- we were seated right when we walked in. Waitress took our drink order when we sat down and we might have waited 15 minutes from when we sat down to when we got our food l. Incredibly fast! The food was amazing!!! I got the ham and cheese omelette w/hash brown. BF got waffles with sliced strawberries and sausage links! The portion sizes were HUGE!!!! I will def be back for another breakfast! I was very much looking forward to going to Steve's in Chile I arrived at 1:50pm. The waitress told me the stop serving at 1:50pm. She then said let me check with the chefs. She went to the window and could not find anyone. Very disappointing. I was looking forward to a nice breakfast with eggs and home fries. I might try the Chile location again or just stick to the two on the Eastside which I have been going to for years. Did not find the help helpful at this location at all. Stopped in on a Tuesday for a late breakfast and was very impressed with the service. Place was moderately full, but our waitress was quick and we were out in and out in under 30 minutes. Menu is huge and lots to choose from, especially if you want pancakes or eggs benedict. Ordered the Cadillac Breakfast Burrito and the Waffle Benedict, both were great. My only negative comment is that the home fries were not great (soft, not crispy and kind of flavorless). I can't believe this is my first time at a Steve's Original Diner. I grew up here, and must've had a sheltered childhood since I've never been here before. When you come in, give your name to the hostess; she'll ask you to wait outside on the bench until your table is ready. They require masks, provide hand sanitizer as you walk in the door (by the cash register) and they seat you at every other booth. Their menu is extensive, everything from fancy pancakes to omelettes to sandwiches. And they serve breakfast all day for the Slackers. They're open daily 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. She said I needed to order a drink or she'd get in trouble. I honestly wasn't thirsty, having just finished a large coffee, so I asked her for water. I ordered the eggs florentine. The first time they arrived so liquid, that not even the white was really solid. I asked for a redo and they came back just about perfect. Next time I would ask for light hollandaise sauce, as they were doing the backstroke in the sauce. The server couldn't have been nicer. It was slightly irritating though that when she brought my eggs florentine the second time, she didn't bring new silverware. She turned around and took the order at the next table and then got my silverware, so my eggs were not hot. Then I had to ask for a steak knife. Not a fan of lukewarm eggs. Otherwise, they were good. The portions appear decent. However, there are some items that I thought were a bit pricey, especially for a diner. If you like pancakes, there's many unusual flavors, from peach to baklava. Have had 2 experiences here and both were great! We ordered take out and have dined in - the first was our takeout order of breakfast which of course we ordered their love cakes (HUGE pancakes with a variety of fun flavors). I chose the cookie dough and springfetti love cake and they were absolutely delicious and fluffy. Our order was ready very quickly which was a plus. The second experience we dined in and I ordered a turkey club sandwich which was packed high and satisfied my craving for a diner club. This is rather new place in Chili. It took over the location that was a rather popular diner and it is filling in rather nicely any void. The place is known for pancakes (or what they call them, lovecakes). There is a great variety of pancake options and you will find one or two or three you will certainly enjoy. You only get one, but do not be alarmed. Their thing is one pancake which covers a dinner plate. It will be a challenge to finish it. There are other breakfast options and lunch if you are not a pancake enthusiast. The coffee is great and I highly recommend a stop here before breakfast. It gets rather busy on a Saturday morning so plan accordingly. read more

We ordered breakfast take out. They had it ready for us in 15 minutes. The serving sizes are huge. My husband ordered a meat lovers omelette (not pictured). I ordered a breakfast sandwich on a bagel. The bagel was nicely toasted, the bacon on it was thick cut and not too crispy- if you like it crispier I am sure you could ask for it that way. My mother ordered a waffle with strawberries and blueberries (not pictured) which was big and had wonderful fresh berries. We also ordered the s'mores pancake.The s'mores pancake was enormous. It's a Steve's diner so of course it's going to be delicious. The food has been great each time I've gone. Staff is friendly, but sometimes lacking in their service, hence why this location only gets a 4 star. Example of lack of service is asking for something to be brought to table such as water, and having to ask another service when it never arrives.
