I've shopped here for years but doubt I will ever return. I spent quite a lot of time in the store…read morethis morning making selections, then standing in line waiting to pay. Only to be told after a long wait that they couldn't sell me anything because the cash registers were down. This was only after I'd stood there for several minutes. The women working at the checkout had looked at me once or twice, turned their backs on me to deal with supplies or something, and dealt with other customers including a man who walked in the door after I'd already been waiting for some time, all as if I wasn't standing there with a cartload of stuff, waiting to be served. So I walked out with nothing, having lost the better part of an hour trying to buy bedding. I went around the corner and bought what I needed from Slumberland instead. The service there was friendly and efficient, and the bedding actually cost less than the sale prices at Kohl's. Kohl's management, in this instance your staff should have either put a sign on the door or posted a staff member at the door to turn people away. I saw at least 4 different staff people while shopping. Any one of them could have alerted me to the situation. The woman at the checkout said it had been down all day. They'd had time to come up with a contingency plan. You have lost me as a customer.

I must admit, while the added items are cool, I'm disappointed that Five Below has added a "$10…read morebelow" section because one of the thing I liked about it was that they didn't pretend to be a dollar store by and were up front about their prices via their name. But now, they have going outside their vow of staying below $5. You used to be able to walk out with a single item and have it be no more than $5.30 because of tax. No more of that. Even with that atrocity, I love this store and have been coming here since opening day. I even bought my white elephant gifts for Christmas here. Whether you need things to build sand castles, kinetic sand, magnets, phone cords, phone speakers, or even clothes and shoes, Five below has you covered. They have a large candy section considering everything on that section is under $5. It even has a $5 bag of mini swedish fish. I also appreciate their selection of pocky.

Their seasonal items are great, but just a quick tip, get in there earlier because it never fails, they go fast. They also have retro candy and candy from Japan which I do not see alot state side. It never fails when I go into this store I buy something. I love their tshirts some are retro others are just plain funny. Either way if you got a minute its definitely worth stopping by.

My local Burlington in Benton Harbor has been a consistent exception in the last year or so. The store isn't perfectly organized and the low amount of staff has forced the changing rooms to be closed (which can make buying items tough if you are in between sizes depending on brands). Despite the imperfections, they have lots of size, style and color options for all clothing types for reasonable prices, which is a big draw. I have also found makeup wipes, colognes/perfumes, a large bag for traveling, and hats for cheap in the last few months. If you need clothes and are on a budget, Burlington is has good bargains to help fill your closet.

We are always on the look out for infant sizes, and seeing the words "Baby Depot" on the building, we skeptically checked the store out after a Friday morning breakfast. The interior was huge, clean, & brightly lit, with racks upon racks of clothes. The baby sizes were to the center rear of the store. We located several brand name (Carter's) outfits the full retail price of which would have cost us $50, and Burlington charged $10. The outfits' stitching looked good, there were no defects in color or patterns, and the labels looked genuine. So I don't think we bought counterfeits. We didn't check out the other sections of the store, but observed that things seemed generally well marked, organized, and clean. We don't go to Benton Harbor for breakfast very often, but I think we would check this store out again if we did.
