If you're considering getting married here, do it! You will not regret it. First, the venue is just beautiful. There's a big white barn with concrete floors (and air conditioning!), which is where we had our ceremony. Plenty of bathrooms, gorgeous bride and grooms quarters. The lawn is huge and green and lovely, and lined with mature trees. It was 90 degrees on my wedding day but it was perfectly comfortable on the property thanks to all the shade from the trees. Parking is limited on site, but there are side streets to park down. The DoubleTree nearby provides a free shuttle. We had 100 or so guests and didn't have any problems. We encouraged carpooling, provided parking maps with Sean's help, and told guests not to block driveways or park too close to stop signs. It's in a residential area, so be mindful of the neighbors. Ok, second, Sean was an incredible host. Having our wedding there felt like having it at a friend's house. Sean was so easy-going and opened the property to us so many times to let us scheme and meet with vendors (many of whom were recommendations from Sean and were outstanding!) On the morning of our wedding, we had a couple acrylic signs that we had made that weren't working with the easels that we brought. Sean said no problem, grabbed some wood, cut it, routed out the middle, and MADE US STANDS for the signs that were absolutely perfect. Can you believe? He's such a good guy, and it's things like that that really make you feel like you're in the right place. Thanks again, Sean and family!

They called me and told me they have no memory of scheduling my appointment but that they were up the street and would come meet me there. Then told me to just look around myself and call if I have questions. So my fiancé and I were just walking around the venue alone not knowing what's what. We felt like our wedding or business wasn't even important. We get they're probably busy and deal with a ton of people but just a big lack of respect. A wedding is a special time to a couple they want to feel like it's special and not a burden.

Since the place was built in the '80s, there aren't really any ghost stories--probably because in the '80s the only ghosts people talked about were the Ghostbusters. The property definitely needs a bit of love. The carpets need cleaning, and the whole place could use a refresh to bring back that '80s charm instead of feeling more like the '50s. I did love the artwork throughout, especially the stair rails, doors, and mural. A small on-site café or coffee spot would be amazing--there's so much potential here to elevate the experience, especially if they plan to maintain it as historic grounds. They no longer host weddings here, which is disappointing since I remember driving by years ago and seeing celebrations happening on the property. Overall, the tour is worth the price and definitely something to check out for yourself. Drink your coffee before you go! And remember: don't touch anything on the tour. It's always embarrassing when the guide has to remind everyone because of that one person who just can't follow the rules. Sheesh! It's a hit or miss with the weather, you might get 70° and you might get 100° but that's just the look of the draw and the season. Pro tips: arrive early to avoid crazy traffic, bring an umbrella for some sunshade, you can bring one sealed bottle of water per person, and wear shoes that you're not afraid to get dusty. There's plenty of food & drinks for purchase (cash only), lots of shops with great trinkets & garb, tons of shows like the main joust and fire whip, a petting zoo area and lots of walking. It's fun for all ages! Don't be afraid to dress up & live your full on fantasy.

It includes entry and all the shows. Food, souvenirs, and any extra entertainment, like the carnival games, are extra, but honestly, also reasonably priced. We arrived about 1/2 hour prior to when the festival opened, on opening weekend, and there was a pretty long line already formed, so definitely get there early if you're wanting to get in right at open. Parking was extremely well organized; the line to get in, not as much, but they were pretty efficient in getting people in. The shows we went to were entertaining. Most of them have multiple show times; the festival map and show schedule is posted on their website well in advance, so you can plan ahead. I'm terrible at directions as it is, but I did find the map a little challenging to follow so I was mostly just walking around until I found what I wanted. With that being said, I'd recommend giving yourself a good amount of time to get to where you're going, because sometimes it is a bit of a walk. Also, the shows get busy, so if you want to sit, you'll want to arrive early. I like checking out the juggling show, London Broil, and the Tournament of Kings. Food isn't my favorite but they have choices from the big turkey leg to bangers & mash, but also fried rice and tandoori chicken. Definitely check this one out!

My wife and I signed up for a painting night at Pinot's Palette and met up with some friends. I've…read morenever been here before and haven't painted anything since Junior High. Luckily at Pinot's Palette, I was still in the right company! Their motto is 'Paint. Drink. Have Fun.' Based on this, I was 100% successful! The night started by finding our assigned stations, verifying our supplies and then ordering some spirits from the bar. I came prepared to be a mess, but they have aprons anyway and they were definitely highly used. The session started by having one of the expert employee artists showing you the final painting on one TV screen and then showing us by painting their own from scratch on the other TV screen. The instructions are provided step-by-step and are simple enough to follow even for novices like me. The best part is, there's still room for your own interpretation and artistic flair to shine, as by the end, everyone's canvas looks similar in theme but are completely unique in execution. The session lasts 2 hours but it felt like 1 hour. Time flies when you are having fun! The staff do an amazing job and were very helpful throughout the night! I would definitely return for another paint night here!
