I enjoyed our visit to this beautiful mansion. We purchased tickets well in advance which I highly Recommend. Be sure to go to the store to check in and receive your passes for the tour. And use the restroom there as it's the only one around. The lavender cookies are not to be missed they are two for $10.00 A variety of soaps, scrubs and lotions to choose from. I was disappointed they don't do essential oils or perfumes. I tried one of the soaps this morning and liked it along with the body lotion. The tour itself was great and the house has so many unique features that can't be missed. The stories of the owners from different decades was interesting and our tour guide was engaging. Meet at the front door when your tour starts. There are a lot of stairs to climb- but this is my opinion and may not be suitable for those with a challenge. I'm glad my husband and I were able to manage them. It's a beautiful property and a great way to spend the morning or afternoon. read more

I've always assumed a celebrity once lived here, but it turns out that's far from the truth. The real history was nothing like I expected. I won't give it away--you'll have to go on the tour yourself. Upon arrival, there's free parking on the premises in a designated grassy area. John was a great tour guide--nice, informative, and absolutely hilarious! There were a few places we couldn't see that I personally would've loved to explore, such as the hidden rooms behind the doors and the son's room upstairs. Due to time, those areas weren't included, which was a bit of a bummer. Overall, though, the tour was enjoyable. Since the place was built in the '80s, there aren't really any ghost stories--probably because in the '80s the only ghosts people talked about were the Ghostbusters. The property definitely needs a bit of love. The carpets need cleaning, and the whole place could use a refresh to bring back that '80s charm instead of feeling more like the '50s. I did love the artwork throughout, especially the stair rails, doors, and mural. A small on-site café or coffee spot would be amazing--there's so much potential here to elevate the experience, especially if they plan to maintain it as historic grounds. They no longer host weddings here, which is disappointing since I remember driving by years ago and seeing celebrations happening on the property. Overall, the tour is worth the price and definitely something to check out for yourself. Drink your coffee before you go! And remember: don't touch anything on the tour. It's always embarrassing when the guide has to remind everyone because of that one person who just can't follow the rules. Sheesh! Why is there always that one human?‍ The kitchen was definitely a 80s kitchen. In any case, I recommend checking it out if you're a history buff or just simply need something to do. Tours are held on the weekends in 3 sessions... check their site and get your tickets online. (Subject to change) Tell John that you heard it here! Btw... What a place!! I can't believe this is just down the road from me. Beautiful grounds the cake has a great story. It is not old so the history is very short compared to other castles. The detail to each carving, picture and fabric chosen is quite beautiful. The tour guide, the staff in the shop and even some people we chatted with while walking the grounds were all so friendly and knowledgeable. We will go back for the full tour one day! Chateau de Vie means "house of life". Chateau de Vie is a 15,000 square foot mansion and is located in Chandler off of Kyrene and Ray roads. The chateau was built in 1984 with beautiful stained glass, murals and ornate wooden carvings. The place is nice. But you can't consider that place as a lavender farm!!! Few plants of lavender don't make it a lavender farm. Also in the gift shop there are zero items from lavender! The only lavender item was a fake lavender plant. Also they said they make everything there. I don't believe that. A friend heard about this tour at the Chateau De Vie so we had to go. This mansion has lots of interesting history. The tour is well organized and our guide answered many questions for us. It's a beautiful place to visit at least once. Perfect way to spend couple of hours here. Tours were only $20 and can be purchased at the gift shop. The gift shop had many lavender items including cookies, soaps, lotions and candles. It would be a perfect spot to take out of town guests too. Highly recommend!! read more

After driving by this beautiful home for many years we were excited to read that Chateau de Vie "The Lavender Farm" opened for tours. Chateau de Vie provides guided tours at $20 per person which goes towards the renovations and preservation of the home & property. The tour is approximately 45 minutes. Our tour guide was excellent and provided a fun and fascinating history of the property. Each room has its own interesting story. Personally I don't feel this tour is for small children as I think they would be bored. There were two small kids on our tour and they lasted about 10 minutes before the parents had to take them outside. There is a gift shop where we purchased delicious lavender lemon cookies, soaps and lotions. I'm glad we were able to finally see this property up close and learn about the build and preservation history. read more

Tour was good for what they allowed us to see. Really wish they let up go upstairs to the third floor and down to the basement (even if it's not decorated I still think it would be nice to see). The tour guide was a young kid, made some weird jokes. Shop was cute. Kind of pricy. Parabens in lotions - so read ingredients before you buy. Cookies barely tasted of lavender or lemon. And not worth the $5+ they cost. Also this is not a farm, so kind of misleading. They have a couple patches of lavender growing on the property. Overall it was a nice weather day and a unique outing. I'd recommend going once, but you probably don't have to go back. read more

Driving by this home for many years, I've always been curious about its history and design. It was a great experience to find out about the family who built and lived in the home and all the intricate details of its design. I love that it's right around the corner from me too. It was a beautiful day! As we drove up the driveway and into the parking area we were so impressed by the loveliness of the grounds and how well-maintained. We enjoyed the man-made stream the arched bridges as we crossover them. There is also a beautiful lake as well as the lavender gardens. The gift shop looks out onto the lake and it is so nicely maintained and appointed. Our tour guide was absolutely fabulous Fabulous!! He took us all through the 15,000 square-foot mansion and gave us a delightful, interesting and informative talk on the history of this house. At the end he spoke with great pride how his mother makes the lemon lavender cookies on sale in the gift shop and of course we had to try some... They were delicious! read more

This Mansion is a joke. This is a semi-large house with none of the original furniture. The owners have changed a few times and changes have been made that alter the original character of the place. Not many mansion tours start with..."This mansion was built in 1984..." The only good thing about this tour is that i was with a long time friend and I knew we had a lot to talk (make fun of) later. Our tour guide cracked so many jokes about the place we couldn't tell if what he was saying about the place was true or a joke. As far as the lavender farm is concerned....it's really a few raised beds. Not a farm with long sweeping vistas of lavender at all... read more

I found Chateau de Vie on Instagram and it looked like a fun thing to check out. Did not disappoint! We decided to do the tour , $20 per person but you can walk the front grounds and gift shop at no charge. The tour was so worth it, minimum 40 minutes of history and seeing so many rooms in the mansion. It was beautiful! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered so many questions. The gift shop has candles , lotions, soaps , sachets and more. I purchased a candle , 2 sachets and a wonderful lemon lavender sugar cookie . If you're anywhere near the Chandler Az area this is a must see. read more

I was really excited to go here as I love lavender. However, they shouldn't call it a lavender farm but a house next to a lavender plant in a box. The gift shop was over priced and some employee came up to my kid asking her to smile and being super creepy. I was very uncomfortable because of this and wanted to leave immediately. The most exciting part of the visit to the "farm" was seeing a duck in the pond. It had more lavender in its beak than in the all the plants on the farm. Save your time and go look at plants in your front yard. read more

We went for the haunted experience and it was absolutely NOT worth what they charge. Its $50 per person, plus parking of anywhere from $5 to $20 per carload depending on how many people you have. And $7.50 for a slice of cake that tasted like Walmart. The tour was all of 15 min with very mediocre actors and decorations and hardly any history. We were not expecting Fearfarm scary or anything like that, but this was extremely cheesy and should not cost more than $5 per person. The website boasts a classy haunted experience - this fell FAR short. The property is very interesting but I would save your money and take the day tour for $20 when you can actually seen everything. The haunted experience consisted of a very short 10-15 min walk through select rooms with a history of the property being no more than a guide holding up a dimly lit fake candle to woodwork and stained glass - no actual history of the property, and certainly nothing relating to Marie Antionette. This place could really be soooo much more for a haunted experience but fell so very short of everything - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! read more
