Well, as I ordered, I selected Google Pay and it automatically entered my address as the delivery!! Yikes. Well it was 8 PM and I thought I would call and hopefully leave a message as there wasn't an email on the website. After initially reaching an automated answering service, I pressed a button and spoke to a live person. I think it was the owner and I felt a little awful about having interrupted her life at 8 PM but she was really nice and ensured the correct delivery address was planned. She also called me back the next day to confirm delivery, and my friend loved the flowers. She sent a photo and they looked just like the website. Fresh flower deliveries are never cheap, but I thought this was an excellent value. They had options across price ranges and really pretty options that were different than what I've seen on other sites -- and actually pretty and tasteful non-flower options like the beautiful macaroons. Unfortunately, the experience afterward was heartbreaking. When we arrived home and unwrapped the bouquet, I discovered that the 1930s pearl clasp had been torn off and the pearls were covered with floral tape. I reached out twice and was eventually told that the clasp had been found at the shop and that repairs would be looked into. That was on Sunday. I understood that repairs would take time, but after hearing nothing for several days, I followed up on Thursday simply to ask for the clasp back. Rachel was apologetic, and while I appreciate that, the level of communication and customer service did not meet what I would expect--especially after I shared how upsetting this situation was. A brief midweek update acknowledging the issue and explaining next steps would have gone a long way, but instead I had to initiate every follow-up. Rachel did offer to reimburse the cost of repairing the necklace, but the most difficult part is that I was never told what happened to the heirloom until I discovered the damage myself. That lack of transparency is deeply disappointing. If you are considering using Watsons Flowers and have a meaningful or irreplaceable item you want incorporated into your bouquet, I would strongly caution against it unless you are prepared for the possibility that it could be damaged.
