They're both beyond AMAZING especially with little kids. Alex who does the pre-screening is also super amazing especially with little kids. Sarah and others at the reception ensure that you're well prepared for the appointment and they provide clear instructions and reminders. They answer any questions either by phone or text messages right away. No need to wait for hours for anything. This place's infrastructure provides a calm vibe. Everything is super clean, there is not a trace of dust even in their chairs, computer keyboards which is very unlikely in any clinic. The eye exam was very thorough and detail oriented ensuring that nothing was missed. The Doctor explained in detail regarding all the test results, showed us the chart and images taken from the eyes to provide explanation of what it means. Then suggested what the next course of action should be, provided recommendations and answered several of my questions in detail even if my questions may have been silly. 5 STARS always!!

DELISTED PROVIDER WITH MANULIFE. Upon making an appointment with this company, I advised that I…read morewould be seeking both optometry services and inquired about purchasing orthotics through my claim procedure with my insurance provider. I advised that there was a 'Pre-Authorization Form' that the insurance company requested, prior to authorizing this purchase. The sales associate "Anna" advised that she wasn't sure whether they would be able to complete this form but instructed me to bring it to my appointment. Just prior to leaving for my appointment I went on the ManuLife site to download the authorization form and happened to notice a list of "Delisted companies" (see attached screen shot). This company had been delisted (reason not provided) since February of 2019. I contacted ManuLife immediately as I wanted to confirm this information. On this same date, March 4th, 2021, ManuLife advised that this company had been delisted and that any claims submitted would be rejected. I phoned 'Anna' at Sight N Steps, Ajax (one hour prior to my appointment) to inquire as I was somewhat concerned that they would book an appointment with me knowing that I was going to submit through my insurance company yet still not advise that this may be problematic. Anna advised that she wasn't aware of this 'delisting' (which seems somewhat odd as that would be very impactful to their operations). I was advised that the manager "Nawaz" would be contacting me later on this date to speak to me regarding this issue. (will update). I am quite concerned that I not only cancelled other appointments to accommodate this one but I could easily have paid for expensive eyewear that I wouldn't have been compensated for through my insurance plan. CONSUMERS - Please check with your insurance providers prior to making health/medical/dental/orthopaedic/massage claims to avoid this from occurring. Follow up with Google reviews and Yelp reviews. Make responsive posts on social media. If I have erroneously posted information and this is a mistake on the part of ManuLife, I will edit this post accordingly. I will also update this post on speaking with the owner/supervisor. * UPDATE: Mar 4, 2021 11:50 am. "Awaz" the store manager (Ajax) contacted me via telephone. Very friendly and accommodating. While Awaz is responsible for managing the store he was not aware as to the reasoning that they were delisted but offered that they have changed their name recently to "Town Opticians" (same address/location) yet there is no reference to this on their website that I have seen and by all accounts, 'appear' to be operating as "Sight N' Steps." When questioned why this wasn't obvious to consumers, Awaz offered that this change would have impacted their marketing efforts. He felt it (delisting) may have been due to a 'change in ownership' but couldn't expand on this any further. He extended his apologies to my missed appointment and confusion and offered for me to come in when I was able to. Regrettably I don't trust these business ethics and will be taking my business elsewhere. Had this been explained to me on my initial phone call, I would have had the opportunity at that point as to whether I wanted to come in or make further inquiries with my insurance provider. End result - wasted 2 1/2 hours making appointments, return phone calls, phone calls to insurance company, rescheduling appointments - Unhappy with this transaction and would advise to do your own due diligence prior to booking appointments. NOTE: the new name that they are operating under as far as insurance purposes is concerned is "Town Optical". To my knowledge, Town Optical has not been delisted by ManuLife as a search on this date does not show any reference. Customer Service: 2/5 (he did call me back as indicated) Quality of Products: 5/5 (I've been a previous customer with no complaint) Company Ethics: 1/5

I Optique - This is the used gen 2 meta wayfarer glasses the owner lied to me and told me they are new. Photos from the glasses, downloaded to my phone

I went to I Optique in early December to purchase brand new Ray-Ban Wayfarer Meta Gen 2 glasses. I…read morewaited until January 5 under the assumption that they were ordering me a new pair of glasses and prescription lenses as we discussed. When I arrived, Ben handed me a boxed pair and told me to pull the tab on the box to open it "like they're brand new." The moment I looked at them, I noticed multiple scuffs, marks on the inside, and dirt on the glasses. I repeatedly asked if they were new and whether they had been used. Every single time, I was assure face to face--that they were brand new. Ben even tried to justify the damage by claiming that the shiny black version "comes scratched" and that only the matte version doesn't. Despite my concerns, I was reassured again that these were new glasses and that this had supposedly been discussed with me on the phone (it wasn't, they only spoke to me on the phone when they were ready for pick up). I took them home and began setting them up through the Meta Wayfarer app. During setup, the glasses downloaded photos and videos of random people inside the store trying them on. That immediately proved what I suspected: these were used display glasses, not new. I called the store right away and went back--again--where I showed them undeniable proof that these glasses were the in-store display model. Only then did Ben change his story and say there was "miscommunication" and that the pair I bought was the display pair all along. This was not a miscommunication, this was dishonesty. So let's be clear: I paid over $700 for glasses I was repeatedly told were brand new, when in reality they were used, tried on by customers, and sold to me anyway. I had to figure this out myself. They apologized, but clearly did not care about wasting my time, making me drive back and forth, or lying outright. I requested a refund because I do not tolerate being deceived after asking direct questions and being given false answers. If you're considering buying glasses from I Optique, be aware: you may be sold a used display pair while being told--straight to your face--that they are brand new. The only reason I caught this is because Meta Wayfarer glasses store photos and videos on the device. Otherwise, this store would have gotten away with it. Absolutely unacceptable. 2026-01-06 at 12:41am Response to Owner: The Meta 2 glasses do not need to be connected to the meta AI app. All the photos and video that your customers made while trying on the glasses were stored on the glasses and now on my phone since I linked it to the meta ai app. I specifically asked you was this a used pair since there was scratches and marks on it. You told me it's new and this is how it comes from Rayban and that you are a dealer. This is very poor customer service as we discussed that I was getting a new pair I think by default any person expects to get a new pair of glasses and not expect to be given a floor model un-expectedly. And again I was re- assured several times they are new and it was not disclosed once they are the floor display model. I think anyone would expect that if they are being sold a floor display model, that is made clear to them beforehand; had I known this, I would have not purchased the glasses. I did not want glasses that multiple people wore to test and also they were not very clean and came with scratches. I did tell you and you just told me this is how they come.

The staff tried to tell me it is because I'm using the wrong type of material to clean the lens. I have been wearing glasses for almost 40 years and have NEVER had glasses that scratch this easily.
