Smash Burger
Taylor N.

What a cute little cafe! The Olive Press Cafe is located inside towards the back of The Dainty Pair. The interior is beautiful, as is the rest of the Dainty Pear. The menu had a good amount of variety. My group tried the original smash burger and it was soooo good. I'm kinda disappointed I didn't get an olive on top of mine, but I think that's reserved for the other smash burger option. A cute spot to get lunch at if you ever find yourself in Midway!

Burgers are amazing! The buns are a brioche bun and it's incredibly tasty and buttery. The atmosphere has a feeling of an old but friendly library. Sounds strange, but it's a great setting. Service at the counter was friendly and warm. Definitely many return visits are in our future. The side salad was very tasty and my preferred side instead of the chips

My Turkey Avocado sandwich after the reassembly

I feel slightly guilty with my lower rating- the food was good but there were a bunch of things that kinda missed the mark that I want to call attention to. I know they are a newer establishment so they are probably still working out kinks. I ordered a Turkey Avocado sandwich and Tomato Soup. I am celiac so I really drilled into them that I can't have gluten. They assured me they had gf bread and that the soup was gf. I ordered my food to go. I waited outside with my number, 20 min went by and the food was never brought to me. I went inside and found it sitting on the counter. Slightly confused nobody tried to track down the owner. When I got home and opened the box to my sandwich (I live right around the corner so the journey home was smooth and quick)- ALL the pieces of the sandwich were scattered all over the box. I had to take 5min to reassemble my sandwich. I also ordered my sandwich without lettuce and onions and they were left on. When I opened the soup it was loaded with croutons making it not gluten free. It was a bummer because I had to throw it away. The sandwich ended up being really good, just left feeling a little frustrated with the whole experience. I will definitely return to seek out a better experience I know they are capable of!

A cute coffee spot to spend the afternoon. I got an iced pumpkin spice latte and found a cozy spot in the corner to read a book.

Lovely new cafe located within The Dainty Pear Co. We shared a delicious turkey avocado sandwich and a cup of tomato bisque soup. Everything was super delicious, staff was very friendly and the seating options both inside and out were beautiful. They also offer a nice selection of coffee and tea and pastries. Highly recommend!

They are known for their homemade churned ice cream and it is DELICIOUS. You can enjoy a scoop, order from their signature scoops menu, and even build your own. If there's a group of you, consider sharing one of their "signature plates." I had one of their signature scoops with strawberry ice cream, freshly chopped strawberries, topped with crushed pistachios and a drizzle of honey ginger balsamic. I asked to add a scoop of their honey ice cream to go with it, and wowww, it was so yummy -- soo creamy and soft without it being too sweet. And I'm not even much of an ice cream gal. There's also a variety of homemade fudge, pastries, and your ordinary coffee beverages. But definitely try the ice cream! Service was kind and friendly. Both ladies behind the counter answered my questions with a smile.

I am not able to find the current Homestead or milkhouse right now on Yelp... For reference this place is fine You are kind of stuck with it for coffee and pastries in the morning when you are at the Homestead currently everything around it is under construction so it's kind of a mess but hopefully once the construction is over, it will go back to being charming and pleasant.

The employees working at the time were super sweet and patient while we made our choices. I got to try the Turkey pesto melt, breakfast sandwich, and the soup of the day. The pesto melt was absolutely amazing 10/10 and the chips were so crunchy and delicious as well. The breakfast sandwich was also very good and buttery, but I still preferred the turkey pesto melt. The soup of the day was like a wild rice with chicken soup. It was good, but nothing super special for me because it was quite bland. I didn't get to try the avocado toast, but it didn't look super interesting. The layer of avocado was spread super thinly and the egg was cooked very done. I prefer more of a runny yolk on my avocado toast. Overall, I'm very happy I stopped by here for lunch!

The frosting was an A, but unfortunately the roll itself was quite dry and a little tough. I was also surprised that, for a cinnamon roll, I really couldn't taste much cinnamon. My better half loved her ginger cookies! The snickerdoodle wasn't quite a hit for me--it was on the dry side and could have used a little more flavor. But the star of the show? The English muffins. Absolutely fantastic--A+! Those alone would bring me back.

They also have the most delicious bacon, turkey and cheese sandwiches that are hot and grilled to order. We decided to try some of their fresh pastries, as well as a hot sandwich and a breakfast burrito. One of them had incredible flavor. The pastries were flaky and light. Strongly recommend stopping into this bakery. It's sort of a hidden gem and off to the right hand side of the resort when you arrive and there is a small sign that is lit up that says open. I first learned about them when I was gushing over the dinner rolls at Z's restaurant for dinner. The server told me that they get the rolls here, so I made it a point to come back the next day for breakfast. They serve Starbucks coffee-which might be a selling point to most people, but I prefer something local. Starbucks isn't my cup of....coffee. The pastry displays were full of delicious options and I was excited to see such a variety of seasonal (Halloween) goodies. So fun! I was drawn to the gargantuan sugar donut but was later a little disappointed to find it gooey in the middle. The flavor was ok, but I couldn't finish the unbaked treat. Perhaps a smaller version would have cooked fully throughout. I'd definitely return for the dinner rolls or to try that fruit tart I saw in the case. Maybe another time.
