Food was great, and the kids generally enjoyed their visit; especially eating in the train. What could have been dealt with more professionally was the service. When our food was brought to our table, another server was assisting with a tray of drink refills. He accidentally dropped a glass, and Coke covered the table, floor along with myself and couple of my children and our seats. There was no urgency to clean up. We used the couple napkins we did have on the table to clean up. Clearly needed more, so the server goes and grabs a roll of paper towels and just places them on the puddle on the floor. We never received any extra napkins, we had to ask for more silverware. There was zero effort to make sure things were taken care of, not even an apology. The lady, that I assume was the manager, noticed after 10-15min the puddle was still on the floor, asked one of the staff who's going to clean it up (couldn't find the busser, not even taking initiative to do herself right away). She also never acknowledged us either. While we really had no complaint with the situation, because we know EVERYONE makes a mistake. It's how poorly it was handled. Especially recognizing we were a family with a bill over $100, and clearly your business is struggling to fill seats. Make an effort to earn the return business. Note: while we were by no means expecting it, there was no further effort to make it right, by taking off even a drink off our bill. Again, no apology was ever given by any staff. For a restaurant that charges $20+/plate, make those costs worth it. Please and thank yous go a long way. read more

I hadn't been here in years since I was a kid, but the aesthetic and vibe was better than I remembered. Other than them not alerting me when my table was ready, the service was pretty good. I had the Sicilian Garlic Cheese Bread, which honestly tasted exactly how I imagine cheese bread should taste (9.5/10)! For my entree, I had the limited time Tuscan Chicken. I've always loved the TOSF and this evening's visit did not disappoint. My wife had never been here before so it was a treat to bring her here. The interior looked like it did when I was a teen so being here was like going back in time. I had the three meat spaghetti with a lot of cheese and it was fantastic. I have good memories of going to an OSF location in Salt Lake with my sister and I'm happy to say it tasted just as great here in Fairfield. We were able to make a reservation ahead of time online (last time, it was a 45 min wait for walk in). The restaurant was busy so service was a little slow but our server was nice. The decor is nostalgic and I love the trolley car inside. The Italian cream soda has a keepsake glass that I forgot to take but I was able to retrieve it later! read more

I've been coming to The Old Spaghetti Factory since I was a kid (Downtown) and the fettuccine with brown butter and mizithra cheese is still my ultimate comfort dish. I don't think I tasted the brown butter as much as I wanted this time which made it a bit dry, and I definitely had more cheese than pasta, but that salty, nutty mizithra flavor is still what pulls me back after all these years. My husband ordered the Tuscan chicken and he said it was delicious. The seasoning had that warm blend of basil, oregano and garlic that makes the whole plate smell amazing. We also had the minestrone soup and it was that cozy, old school flavor you want on a cold night. The bread and the spumoni are classics and always hit the spot. The biggest downside was the wait at the door. We stood there for about eight minutes without being acknowledged, then waited a bit longer before being seated. Once we finally had a server though, he was excellent and took great care of us (even if he wasn't much help choosing a wine.). We even visit their franchises when traveling Unfortunately this franchise has issues filling orders it seems , over the past several months 4 out of our 6 orders had missing items . The most recent was a complete meal. Hopefully management will find a solution to this problem and I have a hard time believing we are the only ones experiencing this problem. I could literally eat at the old spaghetti factory every day. I am not a big red sauce fan so the fact that they have Mizithra brown buttered spaghetti gives me a pasta choice that I can have. The fresh bread is really good, they overload their salads with dressing, which is good and to top it all off the spumoni ice cream is different than any other restaurant serves. My gf really wanted to check out The Old Spaghetti Factory. I was in the mood for pasta so we went to check it out for the first time. I was expecting, a factory, or you seeing them make the pasta, or something cool, but was greeted with a whole different atmosphere. It was very unique, gave comfy, grandmas house, train station, whimsical. The train car in the middle of the dining room was a really cool touch, though I don't think their dining room is that big once you walk around it. We were seated in 2 huge, comfy sofa chairs. Really reminded me of dr.suess. I was hoping for a more low light, romantic vibe, but it was still private. We had a nice server, she was attentive for the most part, and when I asked how meat balls were made, she went back and asked for me lol. The Caesar was good, croutons flavorful. Cheesy Garlic Bread was next, and although it looks very pretty, it definitely could have been cooked longer. It needed to be crunchy. The pastas came out shortly after, our server cleared our plates, and we dug in. I liked mine a lot. I ordered the one meatball marinara pasta. Added 2 more cause I was hungry! Flavor was nice. Noodles aldente. My gf liked hers as well, but wasn't anything super memorable. We've been coming to the Old Spaghetti Factory since 1991 when we lived in Colorado. This particular restaurant has decent food yet the cleanliness is something that needs to be addressed. I stopped in on12/07/2025 for dinner. I ordered Chicken Piccata and 10 min. later I was told they were out of chicken piccata. So I dont know if they were out of chicken or sauce. which I found to be odd.So I then placed for Garlic Shrimp Fettuccine. I was a little disappointed. It was luke warm bland alfredo sauce on top of mildly warm pasta. no flavor of garlic,lemon,wine or shallots. just very plain alfredo sauce that came from the kitchen very quickly following apps and salad. We've been going to this place for years & have had great service every time. The food & service has always very good! We recently had a big party (35) there in one of the larger rooms & everything was fantastic. Starting with Hollie who took care of reserving the seats in the room, getting all of our entree choices & assisted in moving the tables around per my request. They were so gracious & accommodating. It started getting busy about an hour in. Had the chicken parm and it delivered! Good size portions and it wasn't thin. Sauce is great! Spaghetti was just the way I liked it. Why only a 4 star overall rating? I'm a big bread guy. The bread came out warm but lacked taste. The butter was way too soft. The house salad, which came with dinner was just OK, house dressing was different and good. Also came with spumoni for desserts d that was also tasty. I love the Old Spaghetti Factory and think it's an excellent option for affordable, quality Italian food. Where else can you get bread, a salad, an entree and dessert for such a reasonable price?! We went to this location in Fairfield for my Grandma's 90th birthday party. We had about 23 people and had called in advance. They had a backroom set up for us with two big tables for our party. I appreciate our waitress and we also had the manager show up a few times to check in on us. He was very jovial and friendly. He even gave my little baby niece a tiny bear for her to have when she was crying. So sweet! My personal favorites are the Masterpiece Milkshake--you HAVE to get one...it's the best cookies and cream shake you'll ever have because the cookie pieces are so finely chopped into it. YUM! I also love the traditional marinara pasta and the mizithra cheese & browned butter pasta. So I usually get the combo (I think it's called the Manager's Special), where you can get two types of pasta. You also get a choice of vanilla ice cream or spumoni. I appreciate that this ice cream is creamy and quality-- not just cheap ice cream from Meijer. Is this the best Italian food I've ever had? Not exactly. No longer a good value First off, the food was fine. Really, we had no issues with it at all. Service, while a little slow, was pleasant and efficient. Our server, Max, did a fine job. But here's the rub. It used to be TOSF offered up good food, in a cool setting, and for a very reasonable price. The last time we were there, which was a few years ago, the Manager's Favorite was about $10....it's now $19! And no, I don't want to hear the excuse that "everything's more expensive now" because a plate of spaghetti and sauce is still one of the cheapest meals on the planet. I'm not saying we expected it to still be $10, but nearly double that? No way. $12, maybe even $13, okay, but $19 is just plain greedy. In the past, anytime we would get there after 5:00 pm there would be a wait. During this last trip we were there at 5:30 and there was hardly anyone in the joint (AND on a Sunday). I guess people have caught on that TOSF is no longer the great value it used to be. This used to be one of my favorite places because I love the food. We walked out today because we were never served after being seated. Our server dropped straws at the table and then disappeared. It was incredibly disappointing. We drove out of our way for the meal - never even got to order. We won't make that mistake again. We were in the area today and decided to try this restaurant. It looked great and asked others about it. So glad it opened back up after Covid. Fresh baked loaves of bread with butter and you choose soup or salad. We also got garlic bread sticks w marinara sauce. They were all so amazing! Hubby got the Sicilian meatballs. He said it was great but wished meatballs were larger. They didn't look large, as described in the menu. I got the Lasagna and boy I was surprised at how spectacular it was. We stopped in at the Fairfield, Ohio, location on the way back to Indianapolis after going to Jungle Jim's. We had THE best waitress (Brittney) that we've had in a very long time. She was super friendly and very attentive. We had our 7-month-old grandson with us, and she went out of her way to accommodate us and make sure we had everything we needed. She brought us hot water to warm his bottle and helped us pack up our leftovers. She is such an asset to The Old Spaghetti Factory and I wanted to pass along how awesome she was!!! If they could break out Food/Atmosphere from service, this would be higher. Our visit on 8/19/2023 was very mixed. Our 3 entries were good - I would rate the food a solid 4 except for the breadstick appetizer which was not very good. Where the restaurant really fell down was service. We originally had a server who was a very nice woman. However, I think her shift ended at 7 and our table was completely abandoned - we literally had to flag down a manager after 25 minutes. The food was awesome as usual. Service was excellent. Our server was very accommodating and friendly. The wait time for our food was reasonably quick. We ordered the browned butter with mizithra cheese, and lasagna. Both were large portions and we got to take our leftovers home. We also got the spinach and artichoke dip. I love Italian food and was looking forward to white clam sauce. I made a special trip out here to Fairfield, OH since it's not close to my home. The staff was attentive and pleasant. Not crowded for a late lunch. Kinda strange that ever table had different chairs. I was disappointed that my white clam sauce tasted like bland cream sauce with clams in it. Didn't have any flavor. My husband had their meat sauce, which was DEFINITELY tastier than mine. But still rather bland. I would come back if I'm in the area, and try something else than what I had this visit. read more
