This is a terrible place to stay! Don't stay here unless you want to feel like you've smoked 30 packs of cigarettes and walked through mud just to get to the your room from the shower. If you do stay here make sure to bring Lysol spray, Clorox wipes and some shower shoes along with you! I booked a month stay at this disgusting place due to work, and I couldn't even stay in that room a couple of hours because my asthma was acting up due to the smoke smell that was horrrriiiiblllee. The sheets smelt like they weren't washed just sprayed with fabreeze. Then when I tried to tell the owner that I couldn't stay there he rejected my refund and kept my 1200 dollars (I didn't even spend the night, had to find something at 7pm after a long day at work) like what if I didn't have any more money to find a clean place? What upset me the most was the fact that they were so unprofessional, they didn't want to talk on the phone I called them and they kept hanging up, they just texted me when I was explaining my issues and then they had the audacity to call me a liar and a scam because I was asking for MY MONEY BACK. Over all zero stars I WILL NEVER RECOMEND THIS PLAVE NOR STAY THERE. Truly disappointed! I can only recommend the Old Parsonage Inn if I'm clear about what is available there. Please know that there is only 1 bathroom in the entire house. Max capacity is 15 people, and only 1 bathroom! If that's okay with you, then I can recommend it. When we were there there were 10 people for that 1 bathroom. My poor parents are in their 80s and had to wait in line to get into the bathroom. And they certainly couldn't take a shower bc the tub with a shower curtain around it was too small and dangerous for them. I had found the Old Parsonage from their webpage where it says nothing about the 1 shared bathroom. I had even talked on the phone to someone and told him that my parents were elderly, but he never mentioned the bathroom situation or the steep stairs. It was a very uncomfortable two nights for them and I felt awful that I had put them up there. I stayed in the Moroccan room (aka the attic) with my teens and we liked it okay but it was super hot; thank goodness the innkeeper kindly went out and got an extra fan for us for our second night. In the Moroccan room, the futon sofa was hard as a rock and strangely enough there were no top sheets or pillowcases in the room, but I did find some by rummaging in the room my parents were in. It was a super cute room. The breakfast of an egg scramble was okay, there were dirty dishes in the kitchen sink the whole time we were there, and the ashtrays on the front porch were full and stinky and I had to move them so we could sit and relax. But on the other hand, it was cute with really eclectic furniture and decor, the whole house had a total kitschy vibe going on, we met people traveling from Canada over breakfast and had a lively chat, and I played games with my kids in the living room in the evening. So for me and my kids it was just fine and a great price, although it was awkward to sit on the stairs waiting for the bathroom. What a hidden gem! My boyfriend and I wanted to get out of the city for an evening and we were pleasantly surprised by what we found at the Old Parsonage! The breakfast was divine, literally, we ate in the church that is attached to the bed and breakfast. You literally feel like you are in a movie or at least on a set. Another highlight was having access to John's DVD and VHS collection! He has so many and they are all in great condition! I enjoyed teaching myself how to use a VHS again. John is truly a fantastic host and I am counting down the days until I can come back! read more

Delightful experience, exceptional host, excellent breakfast menu, comfortable environment All right, I get it. How in the world does someone wind up in Leechburg PA, a little hamlet roughly midway between Pittsburg and Indiana University of PA. Well, it was a bit of happenstance. We neglected to secure a hotel reservation, didn't know it was Parents Weekend, long story short due to a late B&B cancellation and fortuitous timing we discovered The Parsonage. Based on results, the next time we're in the area we would choose The Parsonage despite the 40 minute drive from IUP. It was that good. It's maybe 30 minutes or so drive from Pittsburg. Our host John is a natural for this business. First a little backstory. John, fresh from a 20 year executive stint with the Disney organization in Orlando and prior service in the Military, decided he wanted to buy a church and convert it to living quarters. Cut to the chase: He purchased both the church and the adjoining Parsonage on eBay. Yes, that eBay. In fact, literally sight unseen, though he did have pictures and did research the area before bidding. He knew next to nothing about Leechburg, was not familiar with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, let alone li'l ole Leechburg. Now that's what I would call a sense of adventure. Over a number of years he converted the Parsonage into the Bed piece of B&B, and the church sanctuary into the Breakfast piece. Did an admirable job with both. We arrived late evening, about 10:30 PM give or take. Our inconvenient arrival, not a problem. John met us with the keys to the building and our room, gave a brief tour, answered our questions and gave us breakfast menus to leave on the door for the morning. The room on the parsonage second floor was well and interestingly appointed, comfortable beds and bedding, lots of room to put your 'stuff.' A little fridge, a little microwave and a TV that predates flatscreens. An adjacent hallway bath. There is only one bath and that could be a problem for some. John mentioned in fact that he was going to be adding another, likely within the next year. We walked almost the entire town at midnight, not a lot of worries about safety. Leechburg is blessed with calm, and lacks any violent crime and practically no property crime. Time spent exploring Leechburg at that time of night = maybe 30 minutes. Town is not short on serenity. John accommodated our wish for a 10:00AM breakfast. The Parsonage does not, as so many other B&Bs do, offer a one-size-fits-all breakfast. John's menu would do a roadside Diner proud. Scrambled eggs or omelettes with lots a goodies, waffles, pancakes, bacon, English muffins, very fine coffee - all made to individual taste and order. John was a great conversationalist, easygoing, relaxed and friendly. A gentleman named Rick was also at breakfast and joined in. Naturally we were taken with the Parsonage backstory as well as John's other life experiences. We shared ours in conviviality and mutual respect. Five stars and my highest recommendation. read more

Super friendly and clean place. Stayed in the Olympus room this last time and have had family stay there before and really enjoy it. They keep adding to make it better for the guests. I found myself in Leechburg for a wedding and stayed here with a group. The owner, John, made us feel very welcome and took excellent care of us during our two night stay. He's quite knowledgable in local history, too. As you may have read/seen, there is some unique interior decorating going on in this old church house. The decor features lots of antiques, faux antiquities, and a healthy dose of humor. I opted to stay in the Egyptian room and was not disappointed. Those less into ancient Egypt may prefer the other rooms; they looked classy, too. Breakfast is served in a medieval-themed dining room. Basics like pancakes, eggs, bacon, and grits are given the medieval treatment on the menu, but served in a perfectly sanitary and appetizing fashion. You can tell the owner has a lot of fun and loves his job. read more

Such an adorable place; was in town for a wedding and chose this sweet B&B for location, quaint-ness, and price. We stayed in the Egyptian room, which was clean and comfy. So many unique treasures John has collected over the years, we loved hearing the their stories. We only stayed one night, but John was very accommodating, especially with us Vegans! He made a special breakfast for just for us and even offered some advice on local places to check out. So, if ever Leechburg calls us back, and we're in need of a roof over our head, you can bet it will be at The Old Parsonage. read more
