The service was ok, the host was great and explained that you order food up front after you decide from menus and drinks from the bar. It may seem awkward but is actually makes for a quick exit. The real disappointment was the food. We started with the calamari. That was pretty decent. The fry was similar to mozzarella sticks, the portions are huge so easily shareable. I ordered the 18 oz t-bone (medium rare), chips and cesar salad. Plenty of chips, they were longer hot and little soggy by the time they got out. The steak was the real disappointment. The cook was rare bordering on blue with very little seasoning. Additionally there was no sear on the steak and it was real tough. The fibers were present through the meat and it was poorly trimmed resulting in almost a fourth of it being inedible. The cesar dressing was real mayo forward. The atmosphere was great with plenty of folks and you could tell weekends are fun. This may have been an off meal but my food on this trip was not representative of the reviews.

It was very watery with no tomato chunks or any herbs that you could see or taste. The people sitting across from us didn't get what they ordered. I like how the staff is dressed in traditional island shirts and again though thousands of miles apart its amazing how a few things can really transfer ones perception.

Taking a shower in the lounge always makes for a five star experience in the United Lounge…read more Located in Terminal 2, The Queens Terminal, this United Lounge is average in size with lots of open seating. Food seems better than US standards with plenty of coffee, drinks, tea and a huge bar. Travel coordination at the entrance and a very international clientele. Best of the best is to be able to take a shower while you have a four hour layover. Individually shower suites are well stocked and very nice. Plenty of staff to keep things cleaned up.

At LHR, the club is larger than most and spread out with more options. The food itself is good / not great / but airline lounge food. They also have all your Coke options with "heaps" or ice if you gone without during your travels. My only gripe about this lounge is related to LHR itself. You have to walk forever to get here.

It started out okay'ish, but it went downhill pretty fast. Thankfully the company was great, and we were always engaged in conversation which made the 3 hour dinner go by pretty quick. The drinks were good. Okay, now for the worst of the review! :-) The amount of time it took to get the food, the excuses made, and the quality of the food was a problem. We were continually told that there was a problem with the oven, however this excuse should not have applied to the cold pecan tart I was served for dessert. Somehow, it was, and we did wait an hour alone for those cold desserts! I ordered the lamb steak.. which it was "Lamb", but thinner than the sole of my shoe. It was well done (not per order), but I doubt on something that thin you could even determine "rare, medium or well done". The other food ordered was of similar calibre, nothing to really write about, just generally bad. The waitress did give us two free bottles of water, I wonder when giving away water as a remedy for bad food and service became a standard, usually they comp a meal or something. Oh well, just another example why it was not a good restaurant. Oh, and it was expensive.
