The indoor and outdoor dining areas are inviting and well designed. I especially noticed the outdoor lounge seating, which would be a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset if it can be VIP reserved. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. One surprise was the limited selection of premium alcohol behind the bar, which made the cocktail menu more basic than expected. I opted to just enjoy an iced tea. The food was ok overall, although I found several dishes to be on the salty side. The standout was the sesame tuna - it was fresh, light, and refreshing without being over-sauced. I was visiting Seaside Heights looking for a decent place on the boardwalk to eat. Took a chance here and was pleasantly surprised We were a group of 6. Had to wait a few minutes. But when we were seated outside it was worth the wait. Place is real nice. Right on the ocean. Service was prompt. Cocktails were good Clam pizza was almost as good as Denino's. I got the grilled shrimp over a salad. Quite food. Only miss was the drunken clams. It tasted good but they served clams that didn't open. It was all Christmas songs but not even happy and upbeat Christmas songs. It was very slow and sleepy music! All of the food was good except for the stuffed jalapeños. They were completely raw! They needed to be cooked 1st until soft and nicely roasted. Then the toppings can go on and it just needs a few minutes to melt the cheese. (I make these myself so I know). We were looking for a place for our last night of vacation and very nearly didn't come here because of how low the reviews were but that's absolutely asinine. I think normally id have ranked it a four star, but I want to give the extra just to try to give this place a bump. Thursday night and it was very busy but we easily got a table outside. It should get an extra star just for the location overlooking the beach, boardwalk and pier. Food was all better than decent. Not over the top, but since we're accustomed to most of the places in the area as par at best, this certainly exceeded that. We 100% will be back in the future. read more

I went to Ocean View Restaurant over the summer with a friend for lunch. It was really nice to sit outside on the beach. We ordered a salad, which was surprisingly large and pretty good! How can this place be so consistently bad. The service is the absolute worst we've ever experienced and it's everytime. We go for the View and ambiance after that it's bad. We went last night sat at the back bar. Damion great guy but geez he was rattled. 5 orders came out wrong within 15 min. Girls next to us ordered shrimp cocktail as the food runner was carrying it piece of shrimp fell on ground, never replaced they ordered pizza with shrimp but they bought out margarita and asked if that was ok. This place needs new management because the current manager can't handle it. It's such a shame to see something that should be so good be so bad. Even the entertainment isn't consistent, we understand same group or owners, own Bar A how are the two so bipolar opposite. We can only hope sooner or later something will change. I wish I could give it a higher rating because the view was great and our waiter was very attentive but I have to give two stars because of the Lobster Roll and the blacken steak bites. First the Lobster roll was the smallest roll I've ever seen. It was tasty but I'm sorry I did not send it back. It was so small and sooooo not worth the $28. My friend's husband also got the Lobster roll and it was literally gone in 3 bites, total rip off. The blacken steak bites that my friend got were also pretty pricey and were just OK. the thing that bothered me even more was the presentation. They were just thrown on a plate with a cup with the horseradish sauce. They could have at least thrown a leaf of lettuce on the plate to dress it up. Once again over priced for a small serving. It is an appetizer, but for $19 there should have been more on the plate and some effort put into the presentation. My husbands hamburger was very good, but you really can't mess up a burger. My $15 frozen Pina Colada at first tasted good but then realized the bottom half was like watery ice. Sorry but I can't recommend this place, it is over priced, cheap with serving size and just mediocre. read more

Bar service was relatively fine other than they were out of one drink I had ordered..no big deal. We get seated outside and the server was polite however the food took a long time to show up. Our party ordered Mac and cheese, steak bites, wings, a burrata salad and a sandwich. The bacon Mac and cheese came out first which felt kind of bland. The steak bites were relatively small for the price and the wings appeared super dry. This feels like one of those places you come for the view and that's as much as you get. I don't think I have ever had worse service in my life. The drinks are great I'll give them that. But on multiple occasions I sat at the bar for 10+ minutes waiting to be acknowledged. I ordered chicken tenders and fries for my daughters, they took over an hour to come out. In a setting where even children's arcades have air conditioning as do all the stores in the boardwalk this place really missed the mark with no air or even a fan in our seating area. The menu is limited as it is, we went to place our order and they were out of stuff. Then we finally pick something else, food was brought out cold and wasn't good. They couldn't heat it up because they don't have a microwave so they would have to remake it. We just canceled it. The service wasn't great. We barely saw our waitress. We had to keep asking for basic things like a soda refill or forks etc. When you get the bill they add in a surcharge for a card, even if you pay cash but if you question it you get it back, otherwise they keep it. Food was ok. The roll was cold like it was just pulled out of the fridge so didn't feel fresh at all. Burgers all come well done. Thin patties. Atmosphere is dry in off season. Had a leak from the ceiling right behind me. Menu is pretty small. Had a prime rib buffet at the front of the restaurant. Friend said it was good. Service was good. First time going to The Ocean View for dinner and drinks. Upon arrival you could hear an amazing electric guitar solo going off that reminded me of Jimmy Hendrix. They had a band playing in the back so I sat at the back bar. Greg was out bartender he was very charming and kind as a good bartender should be. My friend Todd and I both love calamari so we got the Thai spicy calamari and it was AMAZING. It left my wondering why I never had spicy calamari before. For my entree I got the lobster Mac and cheese and there were huge pieces of lobster in it which made me so happy because sometimes you go places and get lobster Mac and cheese and the lobster is so little and cut so small you don't even really enjoy it. For my drink Greg made me the Don Julio Tides drink with a coconut puree. It was delicious. Over all a great experience with Greg giving lots of attention to details. Will be back soon. Decided to check out The Ocean Club for drinks and appys one Friday and it was great. I made reservations online and we were seated upon arrival. I'm surprised about the complaints about service. From the moment we arrived, we received great service from the hostess, to our waitress Brynn and our food sever. Food: We got the calamari and it was great -- light and airy. We also got the loaded potato skins which were good too. Drinks: Their cocktail menu looks good but unfortunately two of us didn't like our summerita watermelon drink and one got a vodka seltzer with very little vodka. The cosmo was great though. Space: It's a really nice space with fun vibes and beach views. There's some outdoor seating too on a large patio overlooking the beach. The one man band sounded great. We'll definitely be back to try other drinks and menu items. read more

It's almost laughable how bad this place is . Terrible service from start to finish. Food was horrific... ambiance was actually decent, except it was a windy day and there was no air control so we were getting whipped with wind even though we were dining inside -- that was tolerable though. What wasn't tolerable was the awful food and drinks. Our clam pasta tasted like alcohol and our mojitos were so gross that my husband had to get up and walk to the bathroom to make sure he didn't like at the table. They brought out our Oyster appetizers AFTER every single person had finished their dinner, and the person bringing them said "well I didn't know you finished your dinner" ... ummm is there any communication between the staff?
