The OBA Method is a personalized approach to movement rooted in education, awareness, stability, and connection.
Unlike traditional fitness or Pilates classes that focus primarily on exercise, The OBA Method helps clients better understand how their bodies create support, move efficiently, and adapt to everyday demands. Education is woven into every session, empowering clients to develop greater body awareness and lasting movement strategies.
Using Pilates-based movement, breath mechanics, pelvic floor awareness, nervous system regulation, and functional movement principles, each session is tailored to the individual. Whether you’re seeking improved strength, stability, balance, posture, pelvic floor function, injury recovery, or simply a deeper connection to your body, every session is designed to meet you where you are.
Built on the pillars of Educate • Explore • Stabilize • Connect, The OBA Method helps clients move with greater confidence, resilience, and ease—both in and outside the studio.
Private sessions are offered in a boutique studio in Laguna Beach.
History
Established in 2021.
The OBA Method was born from my own healing journey.
After a severe spinal injury in 2019 left me bedridden and facing spinal fusion surgery, I chose a different path—one centered on education, movement, and understanding how the body creates stability and heals. Through years of study, personal recovery, and mentorship, I immersed myself in Pilates, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stability (DNS), breath mechanics, pelvic floor function, nervous system regulation, Reiki, and sound healing.
As my body became stronger, I realized that true transformation happens when movement, awareness, and education work together. That experience inspired me to create The OBA Method—a personalized approach that helps clients better understand their bodies, build strength from the inside out, and move through life with greater confidence, resilience, and connection.
Today, I teach from my private Laguna Beach studio, helping clients restore function, improve movement quality, and reconnect with their bodies.
Meet the Business Owner: Kris S.
Hi, I'm Kris, founder of The OBA Method in Laguna Beach.
I've always been passionate about movement and understanding how the body works. My own recovery from a severe spinal injury inspired me to study Pilates, movement science, breath mechanics, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stability (DNS), pelvic floor function, nervous system regulation, Reiki, and sound healing.
What I love most is helping clients develop awareness and confidence in their bodies. I believe movement should be educational, empowering, and individualized. Every session is designed to meet you where you are while helping you build strength, stability, resilience, and a deeper connection to your body.
When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, walking my dog on the beach, spending quality time with friends and family or exploring the outdoors.
