Donna B.

So, we went to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum (look for my reviews) and was very shy about booking a place to stay that wasn't a "chain" or well known. I trusted Yelp as I have in the past to help me. We arrived after a long day and I was pleasantly surprised. It's such a quaint place, that you can see that the check in is a booth in the diner. The main thing (and this is so important to me) is that it was clean. Bathroom floor and shower tiles were very clean. Bathroom......clean. Kitchen.......clean Beds.......clean and quite comfortable. A few things I would improve on (like the rug) but I think not having totally up to date modern furniture and stuff, they make up with down home friendliness. Saw many families here, as well as just couples. Noise was not a problem at all. The diner? CLEAN! Very clean for a diner. Great, great food. I'm definitely a fan! And very large portions. The breakfast I couldn't finish. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's not the Hilton, if you want all the amenities, go there. It said up top that it's under new establishment.........so I predict that it's just going to get better and better. Because they certainly try hard!

Nice little room Clean Great price Friendly staff

When my wife suddenly became ill, the General Manager personally got in her car and drove us to the local Emergency Room. In a world where customer service is often reduced to policies and procedures, this was genuine compassion in action. We will never forget that kindness. Thank you for treating us like people, not just guests.

The longer we stayed in the room, the more bugs we noticed crawling around. It was absolutely disgusting. We went straight to the front desk and were told this was "normal for the season" and that moving rooms would not help because every room supposedly had bugs too. We had tickets for the Ark the next morning and there was a huge storm coming in, so we did not feel safe trying to drive around an unfamiliar area late at night looking for another hotel. We basically felt trapped into staying there for the night. The next morning I called corporate and was told the hotel agreed to refund everything. I explained we still needed time to find another hotel since we originally planned to stay 2 nights. When I called back around 3 PM after visiting Noah's Ark, suddenly they changed their story and said they were NOT refunding us anymore. After endless back and forth, they finally claimed they would "only" charge us $40 for late checkout and refund the rest, which I agreed to. Then came even more lies and confusion. The employee told me they "didn't know how to process refunds" and that I would need to call back when the manager arrived -- even though the person I had been speaking to, SANDRA, supposedly WAS the manager and had already promised the refund herself. Once we left, they ended up charging us for BOTH nights anyway. When I called the next morning, they completely denied ever offering a refund at all. The customer service was beyond horrible. Every single person gave different stories, lied about who the manager was, and refused to take responsibility. Absolutely one of the nastiest and most dishonest hotel experiences I've ever had. I've filed complaints everywhere possible. Videos of the bugs are on my TikTok, and I'm posting screenshots for proof. Avoid this place at all costs.

Eh, it's ok. Paid $200+ for a Monday night as a HILTON PERK member…read more.. Key points: clean, floor is super UNLEVEL, expensive, hotel pool looks nice. If you're looking for a place close to the Ark.. I'd say this is a pretty good option (considering there is limited options) I came into lobby and asked for pricing details. I got the rate and went back out to the car, thought it was high and went to the microtel down the street to see what their rates were.. they were lower but definitely less clean... came back and Hannah at the front desk asked me if I had left and gone somewhere else to check.) I felt like she was insinuating this rudely. PRO's Hotel has a pool open til 11. Free breakfast in the morning (to be determined if that's any good) Room is spacious. Seems clean. Bed is comfy. TV channels had a wide variety. Our queen room had a coach and a chair too. Easy access to parking lot from back door. Bathroom is huge. CON's Not the best area- sirens, garbage around. Kind of difficult to get to things. Limited options for much. Ate at Wendys and it was awful. Lobby is super nice, remainder of hotel is... ok. Just ok. Loud, lots of doors shutting and tons of noise when other rooms use their water. ****Floor is SUPER UNLEVEL. Worry the building is unstable. Floor freaks and cracks. Literally heaved. It's so unlevel that the drawer on the nightstand kept opening on its own. *** sketchy. Room has a hint of smoke smell. Overall, don't hate it. Have stayed in way worse. But for the price it's nuts. Just stayed at another Hilton the night prior, and that one was awesome. This one is eh.

This is a brand spanking new Holiday Inn Express in Dry Ridge. It was so new when I stayed there…read morethat I could still smell the paint. If you're in Dry Ridge you're probably here for the Ark or (my situation), you're from Kentucky and you can't stay with your parents because they keep the house too damn hot. Just weeks after opening, this place is already PACKED. Religious tourism is real. And what that means for you as a guest is these people are all so nice (I have honestly never been "Good Morning'd" so much in my life...) and they have kids. So get to that indoor pool early or you won't be able to enjoy it. The free breakfast is surprisingly good. I highly recommend you get up early for that to avoid the crowds. The aforementioned indoor swimming pool and the gym are also nice and clean - good amenities to have, particularly the pool which you rarely see anymore. The hotel in general is very nice but the rooms have some strange features - like an almost complete lack of storage space. Maybe my room was an anomaly because it was at the very end of the hall, but it felt a little cramped. If you're staying there with a family (as it appears most people are), these rooms are going to feel very small and you'll notice the lack of shelves or drawer space. There was a coffee area and a mini fridge. The lobby has a small store and a single desk "business center". I would definitely stay here again when visiting family in the area. It's better than average for sure.

We thought we had reserved directly through Marriott but she said third parties often mimic the original hotel's websites. (Sure fooled us! We had no idea this could happen.) Despite that, she helped us get a river view room, about which we had telephoned the front desk earlier in the week, even though it was not the room to which we were assigned on arrival. This lady was VERY helpful and certainly represented Marriott well. The room she assigned us was a king studio and was lovely, and it DID have a river view. The hotel is delightful: elegant inside - nice common spaces, quiet elevators. Our only complaint was that breakfasts on weekday end at 9 am. While this makes sense for business travelers, a lot of the folks staying here, based on who was at breakfast at 8:45 am, were tourists. It would be nice if Breakfast were open until 9:30 or even 10 AM, as we have found to be the case at other (equivalent) hotels at which we stayed on this trip. Very nice hotel. We will return.

I don't think I've ever seen any hotel do it more cheaply. The waffle machines are behind the bar - but on a Wednesday morning, the attendant said that only she could use it but they were too busy today. However, my husband and I were the only people there. We were given a TINY plastic plate to pile on cold scrambled eggs, cold raw bacon, any toast or biscuit you wanted. I had decided to have oatmeal, but the EVEN TINIER plastic bowl was so small that there would be no way to stir it. My husband did try to make his bran flakes so I got a picture, for reference. Coffee was Walmart pods - blah! The 2nd picture is of the coffee pot in the room. It is totally rusted - and dirty. I shared with the front desk that their coffee pots wouldn't rust so quickly if they didn't place them on the already small bathroom counter by the sink. That space is needed for us anyway! Loved the room, air conditioner, FABULOUS bed and the ambiance of the whole place.
