So spacious yet so warm. Great for a event or like us a vacation that is so relaxing. Pool is a huge reason we booked this for our vacation but hoping the home would be historic and charming and it exceeded our expectations. 4 1/2 baths and 3 bedrooms but so many more rooms. If you need TV's in rooms not the right pick but if you are like us if you want history and relaxing in a beautiful home than this is it. It really is such a gem and you can see it in every room. Thank you to the Barr family who welcomed us in to their home. ( and how sweet they shopped some basics for us before we got here). Eggs, bread, milk etc.

I have not been able to get up to a pool all summer with how busy it has been, and I was looking forward to this event at the Pool Cabana. The tour of the grounds was very, very nice. We learned so much about the mansion venue, about their golfing bar and golfing venue that you can rent out, and various venues you can rent out for your parties. They are one of the only resorts in Lexington, so that was very interesting. They're definitely prepared for a staycation or a romantic getaway. They have so many amenities like pickleball, indoor pool, outdoor pool, cabanas, bike riding if you want to go take your bike on a stroll on the Legacy Trail. As well as a spa and bourbon dispensers. (Literally) They also have fire pits all over the venue for you to roast some marshmallows, which I definitely took advantage of that because I love a burnt marshmallow. Also, we were able to try some appetizers and the mini hot browns stole the show! Obsessed! I had a great time with everyone and dipping into the pool. It is a very clean venue, very luxurious, and definitely a place to think about for your next vaycay or staycation. It's also very accessible for anyone with a wheel chair!

However, I spoke with her in July 2013 concerning my tiny wedding that I was hoping to have at a scenic Kentucky establishment close to my parents' house (and by tiny, I mean 10 people total). The innkeeper was friendly enough on the phone, said they could accommodate my wedding plans that I explained in detail to her, and suggested that I email her and set up an appointment to come look at the premises - when they returned a week from 4th of July (they would be away on vacation). During the time frame she instructed, I left her three voice messages + an email and NEVER heard a response back from her. Poor, poor customer service and NOT hospitable at all. If she didn't wish to undertake a wedding ceremony - small or not - then she simply needed to state so on the phone and not waste my time and cause me undue stress. However, I will be celebrating my wedding at another GORGEOUS bed-and-breakfast inn in The Bluegrass State this coming Saturday, and that proprietress has been a DREAM to work with: classy, organized, providing lists of approved wedding vendors, responsive, etc. I will be updating with a review of that B&B - after the honeymoon :)

You get a skillet, fill it with as much veggies and proteins as you like, get your choice of pasta, sauce, and extras (pesto, spices, garlic, etc). You also get a salad bar (Use it, that means more pasta bar leftovers for dinner). This is a big rush for them, so don't waste the 2 bucks on a soda, you'll barely see your waiter (since they don't have to bring you food). After a drink and tip the whole thing will set you back around 12 bucks, but it's well worth it. It's a great setting for meeting up with friends and getting away from campus (go cats!) or getting away from work. I recommend, chicken, pepperoni, white sauce with penne pasta, garlic, and cajun spices. SO good. Also, if you are trying to eat light, you can skip the sauce and have your pasta prepared with olive oil. So if you are in Lexington and it's Thursday, GO, because I can't =(

The first night I was supposed to show up at 7:30 p.m. but my flights were delayed, so I ended up showing up at 1:30 a.m. I contacted Anton, the innkeeper and notified him that I wouldn't be there until late. He texted me the codes to get into the B&B. He also let me know where the room key would be. I went straight to my room, the Headley room, and went to bed.
