My husband and I were planning a trip from Ohio to North Carolina and wanted a place to stay for an evening to break up the long drive. We stumbled on Three Springs and it will be our permanent go to place for our NC trips or even a long weekend. Close to the highway, easy to find, but nestled back far enough to feel secluded, this was a perfect location. The owner was amazing! She allowed us to have a late check in (and even later than we had discussed when we ran into traffic), the facilities were extremely clean and well kept. Although we came in the off season, she still told us where some of the cool historical sites were, and told us we were free to explore and enjoy all 100 plus acres. When a windstorm hit two days before our stay, she called us personally to tell us of the tree "damage",which was only that the cabin didn't have electricity, something we didn't mind at all, and she offered us several other options. Being outdoorsie we had no problem going without electricity, in fact, probably preferred it. Our dogs were allowed, which was a must for us, we paid a reasonable and refundable deposit, and they are very much animal lovers. I could go on, but long story short, we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. My husband found Three Springs at my request to locate a place for us to camp that night, and needless to say he is quite pleased with himself. read more

This place could be a real gem. But it is a dump. The ads say 50 amp service at all sites...Not True. We had 30 amp, and the breaker was weak. Could only run a minimum amount a electrical components to not blow the breaker. The water was a hose from a sit about 70 ft away and it has a hole in it, so was worthless. The sites were overgrown, as well as the whole campground. There were permanent campers there and there sights were full of garbage. The sites were significantly over priced, and its obvious they dont care cuz they are pretty much the only option for visitors to the Ark adventure. If i were to go to the ark adventure again, id stay in Cincinnati and drive. read more

What a disappointment! Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. I asked ChatGPT for a safe, clean RV park near The Ark Encounter, it came highly recommended (so much for "intelligence"). I booked online. It's unfortunate that the ride in looks like meth lab row, but you can't help who your neighbors are. When we got there in the early afternoon, the office was closed. We reluctantly drove through and immediately left. They can keep our money and use it for some clean up. There were about 4 run down campers that looked like permanent residents. It was dirty, unkept and felt unsafe. There was a random car parked in our assigned spot even though there were plenty of empty spots to park. I don't know how this place made it to the top of nearly every list I looked at. We landed a few miles away at Whispering Hills RV Park. It was beautiful, clean, very family-friendly and cost nearly the same as Three Springs. read more

This was our 2nd time staying at Three Springs. The children loved the cabin & the owner & people who work here are so kind and accommodating. The owner was always very responsive whenever we reached out. It was December so we needed an extra space heater and they quickly brought one over. The bathrooms/bathhouse is always clean & warm. We got a couple bundles of firewood and Billy was so kind to drive them over for us as our vehicle was loaded full. We left our headlights on and needed a jump before we left and he and his lovely wife were kind to help us with that, too! The cabins always have a picnic table and firepit outside and Granna's even had a water spigot outside. Next time we'd like to explore the hiking trails of this pretty campground in spring or summer. We look forward to coming back again! read more

We stayed here for three nights and had no complaints. There's lots of trees and very peaceful. Compared to many campgrounds, we did not feel crowded in and had a pretty green space behind us and in front of us. The site was pretty level and had a nice gravel, rock-lined area with a picnic table and fire pit. No septic at our site #3. Dogs are allowed on leash, no pool, but a pond with a fountain at the entrance. The hosts were friendly. Not a lot of amenities, but pleasant! read more

We just left this campground and were very disappointed. Actually we left a day early. Would not recommend this place to anyone. 1. Bad location 2. Restroom not kept up. No toilet paper in on of the stalls even after desk was notified 1day earlier. 3. WiFi horrible even though they tell you there is good service. Heard other campers complaining. 4. Dump station in a terrible place. We did not stop along with many others who left. 5. Tight spaces. Our LR side was over the fire pit of our neighbor. 6. Very steep hill down into camp. More campgrounds needed around The Ark. This is something we have never done is give a bad review but we wanted to warn fellow campers. read more

This place is not worth your time or money. We booked our campsite online only to call on the way there and find out they had manually written our reservation down for the wrong month. So we had no place to stay. We were coming in late -due to unforeseen traffic and weather -and were told we couldn't check in because their policy says check in ends at 7. So we had to find a hotel even tho we had paid 2 months ahead of time. Coming back the next morning (like the owner told us to), she had not communicated to her staff that we would be coming in so we had to wait for them to talk about it and call us back while we sat at a truck stop down the road. Evidently the road to even get to the campground is narrow so we were told to wait at a truck stop and call to make sure the road was clear. After waiting a half hour, we called again to see if the road was clear yet and it wasn't so we waited even longer. If it's this poorly run, I can't even imagine how bad the campsite itself is... The Microtel in Georgetown is a better decision and more accommodating than Three Springs Campground save your money and stay somewhere else. read more

Marvelous campground from the moment we entered the park. Check-in is fast & easy. The owner, Chris, meets every camper at their site & helps them back in. SO helpful! All campsites are equally nice. Tent sites are gorgeous. Manicured lawn & grounds. Lots of tall trees for shade. There are three hiking trails anyone can accomplish. We are full time in our RV so we appreciate when we find serenity & we definitely found it here. Showers are clean and well kept. Good water pressure. Paved road all the way in, then well kept gravel road in the campground. Nice and smooth. Excellent for running or walking too. The campground is surrounded by lush woods. Chris brought the honey wagon to our RV & took great care when he hooked up & disengaged. This campground is very close to The Ark & Walmart is 12 miles up hwy 75 so it's a quick drive. We were here while it's rained all day & there are no flooded areas. We have three dogs and they were allowed. It's a little piece of heaven here and we will definitely keep a record of Three Springs to visit again for at least a month if not longer. The location is in forested clearing which is attractive. The proprietors are nice. The RV spots are on crushed rock and mostly level. The major drawbacks are there are no sewer hookups (There is a dump station located at the exit and the exit may become blocked when it is in use); and, there is only one small washroom for the entire campground (lots of tent campers will trash it quickly). If you're self contained, and staying for a short time, it is OK. read more

I booked a cabin in August 2023. That day they charged me $297 for a 5 day stay, $60 per night for the Hike Up Cabin with no running water or bathroom. I didn't know what I was getting being from out of state. Less than a week later I canceled my reservation. It stated I could do that will a full refund well in advance which I did. Well it has been a month later and no refund so we called this Dave guy and he said the campground is under new ownership and they have nothing to do with it. He NEVER said one word that he was selling the campground. The voice was the same guy we previously spoke to! I also have a text message saying "Dear Mrs. thank you for your patience as we are trying to refund your money. David Helton Three Springs Campground." We loved this little camp ground. It's so quiet and tranquil in its own little valley with no road noise. The people are awesome to deal with. We were traveling with my wife's parents and requested to be put next to each other. The owner rearranged placements to put us next to each other. Also a big thumbs up to Chris, the owners son. My father in law was having some problems with his tow bar from his Jeep to his motor home and Chris helped him fix it by purchasing some parts in town and then only charged him $10. Needless to say we gave him more. If we ever come back through here we will definitely stay here. Would totally recommend this camp ground. read more

On March 9, 2020, I paid $165.00 for a 3 day stay for May 15. I cancelled the reservation before the end of March because I was exposed to the coronavirus and cancelled my entire summer trip to ensure that I did not add to the spread. Ms. Poole refuses to refund my money. She claims I can claim a future stay. I will not be going to Kentucky and not staying at her park. She refuses to refund my money. Anything I have to say about this campground must be taken in the context that apparently, they had suffered from some flood damage the weekend before we arrived. I was the first to arrive with a group. Upon check-in, I quickly found out that I couldn't change my reservation to one night instead of two. I can return and have one night free, but I'm not sure I can transfer that to anyone else. So buyers beware. As more of our group arrived, we found out that 1) there are no sewer connections, 2) there is only one washer/dryer-so basically no laundry because one of the machines was down, and 3) said "laundromat" closes at 7 pm EDT. The ladies in our group had to drive 17 miles to the nearest laundromat to do laundry. The pool was in deplorable condition, but that may have been from all the rain. The bathrooms were clean, but the showers were terrible-basically a trickle at "full force" which a sign on the wall says not to use full force as it will flood the bathroom and is not necessary. ⁉ On the plus side, the location is ideal for quick access to the Ark Encounter. The property itself is pretty. There was some pretty scenery and wildflowers. We pitched our tent beside a babbling brook. It was a bit buggy, but there was a muddy pond nearby that probably was a mosquito haven. Here's hoping this campground can improve and the owners can properly advertise their amenities so folks can be prepared and know what to expect. read more

We stayed here in sept. its not far from the ark and other activities we wanted to do .Its a nice place to hang your unit for a night or two. We stayed a week and I really wish we of chosen a different place. Its basically a circle area around the creek and your on top of each other. I felt like a fish in a fish bowl and our every move was watched. no privacy at all.We had new neighbors almost daily we were only fools to stay the whole week around us. Now if you want a tent site there is a very nice wooded camp area and there even a fountain in water near by pretty - very noisey at night ! We were told you could fish and brought are gear . when arrived the creek was dry, doesn't dry up in a couple of weeks. The water by fountain was blue so don't think you want to fish that. When asked about hiking trails we were told they had some of best around and we were really looking forward to exploring. when arrived they were all closed do to covid-could of told us that too.( the ones open were short and just path in and out of grounds. The only thing to do here for fun is walk your dogs around in the circle and look at everyone camping. That what everyone including owners do. We were told there was a pool but found out it was destroyed in a storm and they don't plan to rebuild it. There was a wreck hall and now its a junk hall for owners to store there stuff in. The place is run down- but the owners bought this two years ago and say they are slowly making improvements as they can. They are very friendly and nice but wish there would of been more honesty about amendments before we came. They have very strict rules and go as far as to park you in each site, you must be totally in boundary's or your on next person site as your that close. Our neighbors complained our campfire smoke was coming into their rv windows and we should put it out for her comfort. But we were in designated fire pit for our site -we were that close together. They say its peaceful park its mostly retire people here that go to bed by 9 so that way it is but you can hear traffic at night and trains I didn't sleep well. Plus we were in middle and the light was pretty much over top of our unit and didn't make for a nice dark sleeping environment I would not recommend or stay here again. read more

Just don't stay here!!! But if you have to here's a little about it! So first and foremost the pictures on the website make this place look a lot nicer than what it is. To get here you go down a trashy narrow road that dead ends into the park. There is a stop sign with a little bitty printed paper sign that says to come inside to check in (you can't read it from your vehicle). Be sure to stop and go in though or they will throw fit and chase you down. Another downside is we were camping with two trailers and requested to be put beside each other. We weren't even though there were open spots next to both trailers. So we were stuck having to cut through other sites to get to a bridge to cross the creek running through the park. Still not a deal breaker.... Another, if you plan on renting a trailer through them (and I would suspect the same is true for a cabin) you can't check out the next morning until 10 but have to be out by 11 or you risk losing your deposit. My sister in law ended up having to check out the night before we left because we needed to leave at 7. Little tips about the park: The bathrooms are decent with the exception that the showers are TINY! You only have space for 1 vehicle. It is kind of a tight fit for big rig type set ups. From what I noticed, not handicap accessible. They won't refund money for ANY REASON! But if you have enough notice they might credit you a stay at the park. We definitely won't be repeat customers. read more

Needed to cancel during a national pandemic but because it was 12 days notice instead of 14 (called on a Monday instead of a Saturday), I could not get a refund. I was offered a useless rain check. American Airlines and all other major companies are being lenient during a pandemic, but not this place. Terrible customer service. I do not recommend. read more

What a huge disappointment. Owner, Rachel, was surpy sweet on the phone when I reserved two nights in my RV. When my RV plans feel through, she set me up in a cabin. She pressured me for a credit card and said that since my trip was last minute, I could get a refund if I didn't stay. Well, after I had to hike up a steep hill with a wheel barrel to cabin without a toilet, sink, running water, or covering on the windows and pay more than a motel, I tried to make the best of it. In the middle of the night, I was so cold, I left. I expected a refund for the second night, and when I was denied, I realized, they were rip off and scam artists. That's why they pressured me and that's why there place was empty. They told me on the phone that they were the only RV place close to the ARK Encounter - wrong. That was another lie. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I've camped here, rented a cabin, and u can even swim for like $4 or $5! The place is so tranquil and always being expanded or improved. Being a local means u always look forward to summer so u can swim at 3 springs. I already can't wait. It's privet and nobody bothers you. My wife and I were looking for a night on our way down to Tennessee and over the Memorial Day holiday. Most other campgrounds were already booked or were way over priced. Three Springs had room and was very well priced. New owners back in February are really making these grounds more enjoyable. Freshly mowed grass, available fire pit bricks brought to us and our choice of a camp site. Bath house was clean, up to date and smelled great. Owners were very friendly and loved getting to know their residents. Camp ground was only 1 1/4 mile off of I-75. My wife and I will be returning. Thank you for a great and fun experience. read more
