It's nestled back into nature and right on the Kentucky River of course. We are full timers and have been living here for 4 months and we are going to be sad to leave. The campground is filled with everything you need. There's an awesome common room with tables a fridge stove TV/Cable also A WiFi Cafe (just ask for password) and laundry room. So many things all there for your use. There's also an awesome men's and womens restroom that they just redid the floors in and are now painting! Two showers each is very convenient. If you want a fire pit by your camper just ask! Most people here have their own. You may not be parked on the river. But it's just. Short walk and benches are available for enjoying the views. It's a very short walk to the water from anywhere in the camp. Most of the campers here are share holders and only come for the weekends so during the week it's very quite and relaxing. Many weekends there have been live bands and so many other fun activities going on! Every is usually friendly and polite. Don't forget to wave at your neighbors! Charles, Rus, and another gentleman (sorry I forgot your name) do an amazing job to accommodate you during your stay and work hard to make the campground what it is. Don't forget the office where you'll check in and such has items available for sale from sweets to t shirts.

Grounds were well maintained. Nice, quiet, and peaceful location for a quick stay or extended trip. Would definitely return. Most impressed with all the staff and campers that made us feel like family. Since we were without a truck for 6 days, we were offered rides, food or anything we needed. One long term camper, Chuck offered us his truck for the day! In traveling, you don't always look at the physical amenities a place has to offer, but the personal connection that the "camping family" provides. Thanks Angie, Russ, Chuck, Kelly, Bryan and all. While our truck was delivered back to us, the kitchen slide broke (on our new camper) . Sadly, our long awaited trip to Maine was cancelled as we had to return home. Still waiting for repairs.

The owner was always very responsive whenever we reached out. It was December so we needed an extra space heater and they quickly brought one over. The bathrooms/bathhouse is always clean & warm. We got a couple bundles of firewood and Billy was so kind to drive them over for us as our vehicle was loaded full. We left our headlights on and needed a jump before we left and he and his lovely wife were kind to help us with that, too! The cabins always have a picnic table and firepit outside and Granna's even had a water spigot outside. Next time we'd like to explore the hiking trails of this pretty campground in spring or summer. We look forward to coming back again!

It's unfortunate that the ride in looks like meth lab row, but you can't help who your neighbors are. When we got there in the early afternoon, the office was closed. We reluctantly drove through and immediately left. They can keep our money and use it for some clean up. There were about 4 run down campers that looked like permanent residents. It was dirty, unkept and felt unsafe. There was a random car parked in our assigned spot even though there were plenty of empty spots to park. I don't know how this place made it to the top of nearly every list I looked at. We landed a few miles away at Whispering Hills RV Park. It was beautiful, clean, very family-friendly and cost nearly the same as Three Springs.

I think I was a little afraid that the campground would be similar to Miguel's -- lots of party-time people and little privacy. However, our small group was pleasantly surprised that many of the sites had their own sense of "place." While few of the sites are completely secluded, they at least have plenty of trees around them to give you a tiny bit of privacy. We got a double-pad site since we had two tents, and this was more than enough room. The pads are very generously sized, so if you have one of those ginormous 8-person tents that are bigger than a Manhattan studio apartment, you should have no issue setting it up. Each site comes with a picnic table (ours had 2 but not sure if that was because it was a double?) and a fire pit. You can purchase wood and ice at the campsite host. There are also some short but fun trails that lead off from Koomer Ridge, and I think at least one connects to the Rough Trail, which is a very long trail going through the Gorge that also lives up to its name. The only downside is you can hear the traffic from the road fairly easy, but giving how close the campground is to the main road, this isn't really surprising. I just figure it's part of the territory with car camping as opposed to backpacking.

Wonderful, spacious sites and nice clean facilities - what more do you really need? The campground is conveniently located near the highway and for short drives to the surrounding area for hiking, sightseeing and whatnot. There is access to at least one cliff trail at several points around the campground, and you're never too far from a pit toilet. But if those aren't your idea of a nice place to do your business, the actual restroom and shower facilities are amazingly clean. My only complaint is that the frogs don't know what "quiet time" means.
