The snack shack offered fresh burgers, chili dogs and a variety of snacks making it a great place for lunch. I was highly impressed and will be back!

I was not super impressed with the space, but it was cheap so I guess I can't complain too much. The biggest disappointment is that there is no deep water to swim in, the deepest part is about 4 foot and is a very small, crowded area. The part where the water slide dumps out is roped off for safety which is understandable, but this area could be smaller in my opinion so that there's more swimming area. Pros: - cheap, lots of chairs, 4 big umbrellas for shaded chairs (these obviously fill up fast), "cabanas" available for rent, very easy entry in and out of pool, lazy river and water slide, lazy river was perfect temp, several lifeguards on duty, not checking bags so you can easily bring in outside food and water, gave me the resident price even though I'm not a KY resident Cons - no deep swimming area, only chairs are loungers - no regular chairs, main pool is ice cold and like not a refreshing cold - even on a 90° day, no enforcement of "kids take a 15 minute break every hour" rule, lots of small rocks around, lots of small trash and wrappers, long concession line, no reentry, kids jumping and flipping into other people Don't get here at 11:20 (they open at 11:30) and think you'll be quick to get in - we waited 45 minutes to get inside. One girl working, credit card reader would disconnect or was very slow, pretty inefficient. We were able to cool off, but I wouldn't come back - you're better off to stay at a hotel with a pool.

But one is reminded of all the splendid Kentucky countryside that is privately owned; it's nice that this is open to the public. A couple of trails run through mildly hilly forest and around a pond. There weren't the sorts of spectacular views you'd expect from a major park, but it's nice hiking and the trails were quite well maintained. A climate controlled bird blind overlooks a pond near the parking area. There was no charge to get in and no one else in sight other than a few deer with winter coats when I dropped by.

The green space is sufficient for the occasional summer event. It's easy to park in the area but it's also very integrated to the surrounding neighborhood and walkable. It is next door to Rupp Arena and sits at the intersection of three streets, which meet to form a triangle....somewhat. One leg of the triangle has rows of fountains, which shoot water into the air much like the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas. Though, the Triangle Park fountains are not nearly as large or impressive, they are still really nice. The water cascades down 10-11 steps that actually face Rupp Arena and it all makes a festive display at night when the fountain is alight. The Park contains plenty of semi-mature trees that give lots of shade for the numerous tables and chairs there on brick/concrete patches. Even though there is concrete, skating (along with a list of other activities stated on a sign) is not allowed in the park. When I visited this park in mid-September, there was a food truck selling its wares; though, I do not know if it is available year-round. Overall, this cozy park is a nice addition to a downtown are that is very walkable.
