I love you Decathlon!…read more Decathlon makes me sporty. OK - so I am (was) anything but sporty. But living next to Decathlon has forced me to become a (half) Marathon runner and a regular hiker. Decathlon does a great job of selling. Products are among the most competitively priced and the quality is not too compromised on either. For some reason, I always thought otherwise. Maybe because it's French? They never run out of stock for some reason. Good inventory management. The staff is very friendly. I have almost never had trouble finding what I need. They've always gone that extra mile to make sure I get what I'm looking for. Really glad to have Decathlon for a neighbor.

The same employee really went out of her way to try to find a thinner jacket for me to no avail but it wasn't her fault. Everything was great and getting my VAT-Free receipt was really easy as well. The member of staff was so good, he even warranted an extra star upgrade for this store, he explained in detail the options he had, the colours and the pricing of them, which I felt was fantastic, he did it in a friendly manner showing great product knowledge and great customer service. The product range was above average for a North Face Store as well, which was good, although he did mention some suitable products which were not in stock, which was a shame. The pricing of the items did seem slightly overpriced and closer to the designer, high-end mark in some cases too. The overall feel of the store seemed satisfactory/average. The store overall is satisfactory, with some above average features such as the service, yet some below average features such as the high-end prices, but I feel this store does warrant a three-star rating, with the service being a key factor in earning this rating.

After receiving a $200 gift card that they would not honor, I called their US Customer service number. The US customer service telephone lines ring and then disconnect - continuously. I called their UK customer service number that had an automated "your call is important to us" that kept me on hold for over 40 minutes before connecting to a person (the international phone call alone cost $210). The UK customer service guy checked it all out, confirmed the card, acknowledged the issue, and said they would reissue it in US dollars and email it within the week. No gift card was received. Instead, an email asking for CONFIRMATION of full name, address and zip code. (Image attached) Responded to them - no response. Emailed them again (after the first $200 phone charge I wasn't going to call again) - put in a "que" per automated response saying they were very busy and warning that it I sent another email it would put me on the end of the line and start the process all over again.(see attached) Endless loop - with no results whatsoever.

Once, I wanted to buy a pair of shoes and I had that poor salesman fetch me more than a dozen different shoes in various sizes. In the end, I told the poor guy that I needed to think some more before making a hasty decision. (I did go back a couple hours later though, as I just couldn't stop thinking about that one particular pair ;-) I highly recommend!
