My friend and I went here for brunch! We decided to sit outside since it was super nice that day. Inside the restaurant it looks like a cute old timey diner. My friend got the Irish coffee that looked very sweet with the whipped cream on top. It was pretty strong! I started off with regular coffee which was typical diner coffee. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. We ordered and the food came out maybe 10-15 mins later. I got the Eggs Chesapeake breakfast with a crab cake, potatoes, choice of bread (I went with a biscuit) and choice of how you want your eggs (I said over easy). My crab cake was good but had lots of fillers. Potatoes were pretty tasty with some sauteed peppers and onions in them. My friend enjoyed her crab benedict as well. Although the food was good it is typical diner food. Nothing to write home about but we enjoyed ourselves sitting outside eating.

Forgot the name but it was the pear drink- got it with vodka instead Clam juice Bloody Mary- first time trying Bloody Mary and it was actually yummy!! Sad it didn't come with all of the veggies on the menu tho Food was good everything came hot- tasted as expected. Restaurant was really busy there was a line so we opted to sit at the bar. Maybe there was a lack of servers because there were still a lot of empty tables with the line outside. Our bartender was really attentive even though it was busy.

I came to The Nook for breakfast. I have been coming here the last few weeks. The waitress Alex is amazing she remembers my order. If you are in Charlottesville you need to come in for some amazing food and services.

My friend and I came here for breakfast. They're located on the downtown mall so parking can be tricky but if you park at Market Street Garage it's right there which is nice. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is dog friendly. We decided to sit outside since it was nice out. They don't have any speciality coffee drinks or espresso so I just got water. They do have mimosas though and speciality cocktails. I tried the power house bowl which was okay. They were out of the basmati quinoa hash so it was pretty much just spinach and eggs which I didn't love. Thankfully I added the avocado slices so that gave it flavor and it did have some sweet potatoes in it which was good. I would come back and get something else though like try the omelette. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Price was good too.

We were on a fall colors drive and decided to pop in for a quick bite. Bad timing for us because it was the busiest part of their brunch rush. Food was delicious, staff was wonderful - the efficient hostess took our name and within 20 min our table of 4 was seated. All of is agreed the food was delicious and served quickly and hot. The tomato bisque was heavenly. If I had one quibble, it would for the hash. If I am paying $14-17 for a dish with "hash" in the name I am expecting more hash than the few dribbling of hash I was served. Maybe it was a portion control issue and it's normally a larger portion. Would be willing to give them another go.

Arrived at the nook around 11:30 on a beautiful fall Saturday and the down town mall was very lively! The nook offers both indoor and outdoor seating, (outside is dog friendly). There was about a 25-30 min wait but we were able to get seated much quicker. The inside is cute and quaint nothing extravagant. The wait staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive. We started with the spiced apple mimosa which was to die for, the cinnamon sugar rum was amazing and I was able to catch a good little buzz off of it before our food arrived. The menu offers lots of different options breakfast and non breakfast. We decided to go with breakfast items. The food was solid, nothing spectacular but satisfied our brunch craving. We were able to park in the market street deck and only paid $2 for about 2 hours of parking. This is a great little spot to grab brunch at on the down town mall!

Good overall experience. Food was tasty and service was good. One piece I think they should consider is to offer the entire menu on weekends or advertise it so you don't walk in surprised by a consolidated, smaller menu with limited options. Cinnamon roll was great!

This is a classic stop when on the downtown mall. The service was quick on a busy Saturday morning and the food was good. When visiting home it's hard to fit in all the good food places and I'm so happy I was able to make it here. The egg and cheese biscuit looked great along with the power bowl (both I couldn't get pictures of before they were devoured), there was a 45 minute wait for our party of 6 but we didn't mind because of the time of day (11:00am on a Saturday). Everyone that stopped my our table was kind and attentive. I've never had anything I didn't like.

We were Welcomed with smiles. We sat at the bar, great atmosphere. Our bartender was attentive and gave us great recommendations. The brunch drinks were fantastic and the food was spot on. Crab cakes are made fresh everyday and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Would definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

Love this town and love the food options. But when it comes to breakfast the Nook is the place to be. Walked in and the vibe is exactly what you're looking for with good music and friendly smiles. For food, the crab cake was beautiful, not too much filling and great flavor and seasoning. It comes with a couple of eggs, potatoes and i always add a side of bacon. Life is good, fully belly and great mood.

The mains came out around 30+ minutes. A bit long imo. Overall food was good, not great. Most disappointing was the tomatoes that lacked flavor. The crab Bennie was pricey and fell flat. My wife and daughter both enjoy their dishes, but eggs were somewhat dry. Coffee was very good. It's a beautiful place with outdoor option. But the food is over hyped and pricey. The service was rushed. I still will go back. 3.5 rounding up for atmosphere.

This restaurant is clearly formerly a small home, given how it has so many small rooms set up like bedrooms, hallways, narrow stairs, and living rooms with six-pane windows. Plenty of mason jars and small flowers spread on each table. The food exceeded my expectations. The coffee and espresso were made by a skilled barista who steams great milk and can tell apart a cortado, latte, and flat white. My sweet potato hash was very tender, salted to perfection, and matched with a good amount of turkey sausage they managed to present piping hot but not dried out. My companion's smoked salmon and poached egg easily split under a fork and coated the plate in delightful yolk. Sensibly prepared. Nothing dry or cold. I found the entrance quite difficult to locate when coming from the Oakhurst Inn, probably a consequence of how the property is laid out with so many cabins and houses on the grounds. If you can manage the maze of stairs and paths, you'll find a charming cafe across from a new housing development. Definitely come here if you want good espresso or an appetizing breakfast.

Squeaky clean hardwood floors all over. Tasteful old furniture. Every staff member I spoke to was polite, courteous, and happy to help. The self serve stations for hot coffee, tea, and cold water was a convenient resource outside of the door. This inn appears to be made of several former homes that were turned into a campus of buildings making the Oakhurst Inn. It's not a single building. The small lawn in the center of the complex has benches, hammock, and a fireplace that seems welcoming and nice, but I wasn't aware of them until I left. There were a few problems during my stay. The inn requires guests to use valet parking which is $40 per night, not disclosed before my stay, and often required a long wait for the valet to return. This makes it hard to retrieve anything you need from your car. The front desk staff are often missing from the front desk - I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come back and check me in on arrival. Likewise, the bartender is often away from station and you might wait 10 or 30 minutes for the bartender to return. There is no mini fridge or microwave in the hotel rooms. The pool area was extremely dark at night, making it tricky or dangerous to navigate. The pool water was lukewarm, not warm at all. The sauna was out of order and the doorway was small and obscured by chairs. Not accessible and difficult to find. This inn has no gym. The lobby is very small and has no seating for guests or places to hang their luggage, although the nearby lounge has a few leather couches and a fireplace that doesn't appear to be working. Not the most welcoming or convenient. Overall I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag and would stay elsewhere when I return to Charlottesville.
