Took 2 hours for delivery to arrive, food was cold, and there was an apparent additional charge for deliveries after 1am.

From the outside, the Willow Bank looks confident in its status as a singular building. Once you…read morestep inside, however, you realise it's been crudely welded together from at least nine different pubs. Seriously, it looks like a pub showroom. The clincher is the number of televisions. Count them and you find that there's more screens present than the maximum number of occupants allowed. With its real ale selection and low-priced grub, the Willow Bank is a soothing location to step off Smithdown into. That is, after all, if its a placid night. The dark side comes once there's a match on. With its barking squadron of TVs inside and its gigantic roll-down screen taking up the whole front wall outside, this is the place everyone in the neighbourhood will flock to. Of course, if you like football, you may find it slightly less hellish than I do. But if you find soccerball rightfully odious, don't say I didn't warn you.

This place has a lovely ambience which manages to fuse all the characteristics of a classic old pub together with the kind of things that make it appealing to the younger student crowd. The staff here are also a mixture of young and old and no matter what their age they know how to friendly and fast and most importantly of all they can pull a great pint. This place comes into its own in the summer when you can sit in the outdoor seating area and relax with a cold one. In many ways it is almost a smaller version of The Brookhouse but without the chain pub feel which in my eyes makes it superior. The Willowbank is a great pub and a real winner no matter what your age.

It ensures that it caters for both the workers in the hospital and students in the area by offering discounts for NHS staff and students alike. It has ample seating for the regular flow of customers and is kept clean and tidy by the staff. The staff are friendly and are happy to advise if you are confused by the extensive menu available. They pay attention to detail as they make your sandwich and take care in what they are doing to produce the best result possible. There is toilet available in this branch, unlike most city centre branches. So you can freshen up before or after your meal. The toilets are clean and are obviously well maintained.

I felt his whisper before I felt him enter. "No aftershave you go home with Dave" he spat out softly into my ear. I would recognise that voice anywhere for it was the very same aftershave and soap distributer I had turned down the night before in the kind of night club I go to and stand at the side of the dance floor watching the crowded fleshy figures form in and out of each other in the collage of florescent light. As he entered me i let out a weak puppy like yelp hoping a house mate would hear. But he knew no one was in. Once he had finished inside of me we lay side by side in bed panting with exhaustion and hunger. He then broke the tension in the room and invited me out for something to eat. We then went down to subway and he bought me a 12 inch chicken tikka sub. As we sat there tucking into the delicious sandwich treat he peered down at me from across the table and bellowed out for everyone in the restaurant to hear "that's not the first meaty 12inch you've had tonight" I then sobbed into my rainbow cookie for the remainder of my stay. Other than that the food was delicious and made fresh and fast 5 stars with exceptional service

The decor inside is classy and modern also and you feel as though you are in quality surroundings and as such the food will be of a high standard. The most impressive thing about the restaurant is that they try to use local ingredients which is great to see and the menu is vast ranging from a rump of Lamb to Southport shrimps which incidentally I would recommend despite not being a fan of seafood . There are also great wines and a range of beers to be found also although nothing in Puschka comes cheap. This place is well worth the price and really is a niche within Liverpool's culinary ensemble so I would definitely advise the people of merseyside to try out Puschka.

With the name Pushka I guess I was hoping for something a little exotic, maybe Eastern European but I was really pleased to be treated to well cooked, modern food. Simple, well prepared good ingredients. The lamb was perfect as was the attentive and friendly service. You're not spending a fortune but feel as if you are getting treated to a fine dining experience.

It's the kind of overtly and comically monopolistic corporation you get in a sci-fi dystopia, except it's real. Stories of Tesco's ruthless campaign to eradicate every other business from the acreage of Britain can be found in local newspapers all across the nation. That comes as a given of course because to Tesco, everything is local. They've saturated every postcode in the country. However, the really infuriating thing about this particular branch, and what I assume is the crux of the whole problem, is that it's just so damn convenient. With its automatic check-outs and selection of handy goods, it's perfect for breezing in and out of but you'll hate yourself afterwards. People can whine on about how stinkingly evil the business is but so long as the remaining millions are flocking through the aisles, they're basically trying to shout down a hurricane. They should know by now the slogan 'Every Little Helps' doesn't apply to those who avoid Tesco.

It means if you just have a few bits to pick up you don't have to trek miles round a superstore just for those few bits. Even more conveniently, you don't even have to converse with the staff due to the self service checkouts. You can get your shopping, serve yourself and be away in no time at all. Another convenient thing, the store is open 6am-11pm 7 days a week so when the other stores close on Sunday around tea time, this Tesco Express stays open till late evening.
