They don't any pork products !!! Good was so good. Decor was nice, clean, with neo soul playing in the back ground. Tee Tender the bartender said there's Open Mic on Friday nights. I will most definitely be back .

Enjoyed myself I will be returning definitely...

Great service, good food. It's kinda hard to find, pretty dim inside. Wasn't too much going on. Try the pan seared lemon and dill catfish!!!

A friend recently sent a post to me from Instagram of a man who came to King's Soul Food Gallery…read moreand got hooked on the pancakes. That post piqued my interest and my appetite. That, of course, meant I had to see if the hype was real. THE HYPE IS REAL. I went early for breakfast. I ordered biscuits with sausage gravy, eggs scrambled with cheddar, and potatoes. On the side, I ordered two pancakes. Everything is cooked to order, which is always plus because you aren't getting something reheated or microwaved. The quality of the food is also an indicator because you can tell by texture and temperature throughout what is on the plate. The cook came to the table to get confirmation of how I wanted my food plated. I gathered that some people are picky about their food touching, so he wanted to know if I was okay that the gravy may touch my eggs and potatoes. Servers, cooks, and chefs usually never confer with diners to inquire about peeves like food touching, so it was a bonus as service goes. On to the pancakes, you really don't need syrup. The pancakes are butter and lightly sweetened. For anyone who has had Johnny cakes, the pancakes are reminiscent of those but without cornmeal. The other thing about the pancakes was that they held heat instead of getting cold immediately. Some people may rattle off how some other place or how their own pancakes are the best in the world. Be that as it may, the pancakes that I had at King's Soul Food Gallery were the best that "I" have had. I will have to make my way back to sample their lunch. There is some fried catfish, collard greens, and sweet potatoes that I want to try. THE HYPE IS REAL.

My husband ordered oxtails, Mac & cheese, collard greens--a 10 + he said; I ordered short beef ribs, cabbage & sweet potatoes; it was superb --felt like we were eating at my mom's house. That food was the best soul food I've ever had outside my house or any restaurant! The people were top notch and the service was also a 10. I've shared on my social media platforms--ppl are always looking for good food. We'll be back for sure!

The only plus to their service was CJ - please make him a waiter because he actually cares and continued to check on us though things were out of his control. We were never greeted by our waitress and when she finally came, maybe 25min into our reservation, she was acting slow. She made mistakes and forgot things. We got our drinks so late and our meals as well. Very annoying experience! *Food is the only reason they got more than 1 star. The soul rolls were tasty - moreso like a dessert. The mac & cheese could be cheesier. The greens were fine but missed the mark with barely any juice. The short rib I ordered came with gravy and didn't state it would which turned me off. Upsetting cause the meat was pretty good after I swept all that thick gravy to the side. Don't think I'll be making an appearance here again.

A while back I discovered that Morrison's had it as a special on Wednesdays so went down south and tried it. It was exactly as I love it, EXCEPT the dish was soaked in spices that made it nearly impossible to eat. I LIKE spicy food, and this was insane. After that, I tried to call and ask if I could arrange to get some ,made without the heat. I called and called, left messages and tried to talk with the manager, and no one ever called back or addressed my question. That's too bad too, cause even with the distance away I live in the city I would have been a semi regular for it.
