I only was going to stay for one month but I ended up extending my stay several times and ended up staying all the way till February 2022. I'm a student so I couldn't afford to stay any longer than that but I think it's well worth the price. It was so nice to not have to worry about cooking (although if you're a picky eater you might have some issues), and the location makes it so easy to get around. The staff are all very kind and the rooms are clean, the only thing that was kinda iffy was that they just kinda paint over all the furniture over and over again? Like my dresser was originally metal but they slapped so many layers of white paint on it that the drawers wouldn't open so I only used the top drawers. It's a very minor problem compared to everything else though!! Being able to get free coffee every day, having wifi included in the rent, the movie room, rooftop etc is well worth the price! It's also very safe with the security. I also got lucky enough to be on the 13th floor so the views were awesome :) Definitely recommend staying here!

I didn't end up going forward with the building, while the studio units are gorgeous with floor to ceiling windows and very decently sized. For the price and for the building, it's just surprising that there is no washer dryer in the units or even in the building. They have a valet service but having it in your own apartment or floor is just more convenient. Outside of this, the building is great and in a great location! Five stars for Brandy! Took one star out for the building for the lack of laundry/WD.

I notified the New Super Intendant regarding the dogs and the lack of hot water and No changes have been made. The previous Super Intendant was extremely unreliable and informative and the Newest standing Super Intendant is JUST as bad or WORST. This is a luxury apartment building in a beautiful neighborhood and it is a disgrace to live under these conditions. My son lived here for one semester. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially for the…read moreamount of money they charge. First of all, upon arrival in September, the room was filthy. Disgusting, really. It was not cleaned at ALL. The bathroom was dirty and hair clogged the shower drain, there was crud all over the floor, old FOOD in the refrigerator, etc. This was a Friday evening. The situation was not resolved until they brought cleaners in Sunday evening, so we had to pay for 2 nights in a hotel and move in on Monday. The room was only slightly better on that day though, and we still had to buy cleaning products and scrub it down. My son informed them of all of this verbally and in a survey sent to him, but no compensation (or even an apology) was offered by EHS. Moreover, there were significant privacy and security issues. After completely moving in, a painter was let into my son's room while he was at school. All of his stuff which had just been moved in and set up was piled into the middle of the room and they painted around it -- then left the door OPEN when they were done. He returned to find his expensive camera and computer equipment in an unsecured room. Shortly after that, an RA let themself into his room (without even knocking), thinking he wasn't there. When asked why, there was no reason. This happened several times when he wasn't there (caught on camera) and was quite concerning. RA's should not be letting themselves into student's rooms. That kind of violation can't be undone. My son stayed with friends most of the semester as he didn't feel safe there, and we ultimately wasted a lot of money. Couldn't wait to get him out of there! NOTE for NYU students: The reason we applied to EHS was to get a single, which is hard to come by in NYU dorms. However, because NYU has a large portion of the Clark wing at St. George Towers, I was told by EHS that all NYU students must book through NYU's housing office. I was told this AFTER the NYU housing application deadline, even though we had stated my son went to NYU on the form weeks prior. So that left us in a lurch for housing. NYU ultimately made an exception after they heard what EHS had done to us. The whole process was exasperating and, in hindsight, I realized we could've literally put our son up in a lower-priced hotel for the same amount of time with far less stress for all of us. *I'm giving a second star on my review only because the view from the room was lovely and the building itself has a wonderful history. Also, the neighborhood is great and it's convenient to the subway.

But Hub truly does not uphold the reputation of the management company. A flood from an upper-floor unit led to my walls being ripped open, my belongings being tossed around carelessly (including paint getting on two designer bags), and my washer being disconnected with wet clothes inside. I have been sleeping on my couch for a week, yet management is ignoring my emails and follows up and refuses to provide prompt updates or timelines for the remaining repairs. On top of that, I returned home to find someone had used my toilet and left it unflushed, and a pair of my designer shoes are now missing. Mind you, I requested video footage to get to the bottom of the missing shoes, but I was told there are no cameras in the hallway. There is no security system between the front door and elevators and they use analog keys for entry into the apartment. You can basically come in from the street and enter an unlocked apartment unchecked and you won't be recorded in the hallway. This is such a crazy security gap and it truly is unacceptable. I do not feel safe here. I also had industrial machines in my unit running up my bill. I have emailed and called repeatedly, but the responsiveness of management is so unacceptable. This is unacceptable for a luxury building charging premium rent. Your actual apartment and living experience however? Abysmal. There's so many issues in the unit because the developers just through this building up so that they can start robbing people for rent. I've been dealing with a "structural noise issue" that can't be fixed for the last 6 months. At any moment in my unit I hear a very loud bang that makes it truly uncomfortable for me to live in my apartment. I can't read a book, meditate, or barely get rest because I'm on edge about when I'll hear this loud bang again. Other tenants have reported the noise as well. I've tried to work with management and maintenance to investigate the noise. In this process management and maintenance have been unresponsive and I've had to chase them down for follow up on communication daily. I've provided audio recordings of the noise at all hours/times because it's continuous throughout the day. Only to be gaslit and told that the noise doesn't exist (when I have screenshots of other tenants reporting the same noise). I've even asked if I could transfer to another unit to which I was denied when there are plenty of empty units that haven't been rented. But instead of trying to help an existing tenant they won't. It's quite ridiculous and disheartening that Loden / Greystar/Carmel Partners truly don't give crap about their tenants. I will not rent with them in the future and advise others to be wary.

Across the street from Prospect Park, so I can walk the dog by the lake every day, close to the subway, and also the cultural hub that is Flatbush. Good sized apartment, with tons of natural light. Pretty quiet, and safe. Easy enough to park safely on the street in front, or out back also, unlike other neighbourhoods close-by. Not sure why people are slating this place, I figure they must be the type to complain about every little thing, and aren't New Yorkers? Every time I've had a maintenance issue, I've had the guys in within 24 hours. The staff are great, the app for the front door, and for rent payments, are reliable and easy to use. Angel, and Mira, at the front desk are on top of their game. The porters are always emptying the trash rooms of recyclables, and cleaning hallways and elevators every day. The roof deck is a little oasis with wonderful views. Sure, there's no swimming pool, and the gym isn't exactly Equinox, but it's decent enough nonetheless. The rents are stabilised so all those that are moaning about increases probably got in super cheap during COVID and are balking at 'normal NYC rents' - we get it. I'll be renting here until I buy a place to call home.

The front desk has been unstaffed for the better part of the summer with actually no one sitting there at all for the past couple of weeks. The temperatures in the hallways are uncomfortably high and this is no doubt another dumb cost-saving strategy. Emails to the building manager go unanswered and communication from management is non-existent except for them to scold people and remind them about their "rules". Truly sad how little management cares about the residents and the staff. Really consider looking elsewhere.

In a nutshell: Avoid at all costs…read more After being familiar with this building, we were excited to see a listing for a unit that seemed like it would be perfect for us so we tried to act quickly. The building uses an AI assistant to manage most of the process and makes it difficult and sometimes impossible to reach a human, which feels impersonal and exasperating, but we put up with it. Despite that, we went through the arduous application process, were officially approved, received a lease to sign, learned that based on the move-in day you select, the rent price increases, but still felt confident we could turn down our next best apartment choice. THEN 12 hours later -- we received a cold and completely impersonal call from what seemed like AI -- but turned out it was just the unbelievably insensitive, unprofessional & unsympathetic building manager informing us joyfully that the building had decided to "go in a different direction" with the apartment - NOT that they had chosen a different tenant. Despite our total shocked reaction, the evil robot manager just kept laughingly repeating the phrase "we're going in a different direction" as if we were too stupid to understand her very clear explanation. I guess this communication style is what they taught her in the 2-hr online course she took in how to work in real estate. I suspect this actually means the building realized they could wait another month and increase the asking rent substantially. Horrible experience. Shocking customer service and inexcusable lack of empathy for a building that depends on word of mouth. Wouldn't go near this building again if the rest of Brooklyn was on fire and this was the only water source. Equity Residential should be embarrassed at how they handled this situation and who they have representing them.
